That she took the $$ is less of a big deal w/ me. That $ was better spent in other projects, where it was spread around for the benefit of more Alaskans than the few had it been blown all on the bridge.

Needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or something like that.

Except that she took the money that was earmarked for that bridge.

And she's trying to PORTRAY it as if she didn't take the money at all. That's certainly the impression she conveys in her speeches. "I told Congress, 'Thanks, but no thanks'..." doesn't sound even remotely like "I told Congress that we wanted that money, but we didn't want it for the bridge they were giving it to us for, but rather to spend on other favorite projects of mine that they WOULDN'T give us money for."

She's a lying sack of shit (lipstick on a turd?), but that's the party line for her kind. More of the same from the "More of the same" party.

The country's fucked no matter who gets elected.

True enough, it seems the only question is whether we get a reacharound or not, innit ?

People like to talk "sides" at me but I don't really have one, for a great many years my effort has been in hopes of helping prevent disaster, and in the future will probably be focused on limiting the damage, or at least limiting it to those most at fault.

Good thing I don't believe in "impossible" or I'd have thrown in the towel over a decade ago.

Freedom is Important because People are Important

"She's a lying sack of shit"

Hello,

I think it's important to remember that 'L.S.O.S.' describes most politicians, especially if you include omissions as lies. Biden has been quoted as saying "I got also a bridge I got to sell you here, and guess what, it's in Alaska, and it goes nowhere," while mocking Palin's controversial earmark.

The thing is, he really DID sell us all that bridge. He not only voted for it, but also voted against diverting the money from that earmark to other deserving projects.

Why would he do that? Probably so that no one would get revenge by interfering with his own earmarks.

Monty Python said that you could tell who the King was, because he was the one not covered in sh*t. But really, they had it all backwards.

No one is clean. It fills me with dismay as the Democratic Pot and the Republican Kettle point to each other and shout, "BLACK!"
