Since Palin fumbled and dropped Courics gently lobbed softballs - what's it matter what you ask her, since she's fuckin clueless anyways ?

Van Susteren is a lib according to who..zit

and according to people at Fox, who want to maintain something that pretends to "fair and balanced."

Sadly, there is no credibility in your statement that she is a lib, really.

By the way, you and every other repub on this board have yet to defend Palin's interviews from a perspective of confidence in her performance...

I asked before of you guys what about those interviews made the woman look qualified for the Presidency?

go ahead Whozit, tell me how amazing she was, or how those were "gotcha" questions.

Biden has been known to gaffe, and i've seen it mentioned plenty in the media, and I've seen it mentioned often that he has a potential for doing more harm than good to the campaign, and I've even seen his gaffes highlighted on the Daily Show.

I don't know what kind of blackout on this fact you are talking about, but it's more whozit.bs

Spare me! Palin has gotten more crap in 6 weeks than Bidens gotten in over 30 years! He's spitten out so many gaffes, SNL could do 90 minutes just on him, but they're in the tank for Obama.

heh...

k

you know the funniest thing about that Palin skit was that it was like 60 percent verbatim?

by the way, here's your opportunity to telll me and the media why their "harsh" treatment of her was so unfair.

Come on man...step up, make a stand, tell me how GOOD she was in those interviews...tell me how much confidence she brought to you that she could be the Commander In Chief of the United States of America.

AURAPTOR

America loves a winner!

Ifill should immediatly recuse herself. Were she a conservative, and had written a book about McCain, due to be released Jan 20th, 2009, there'd be holy hell raised by the MSM. And yet, where's the outrage ?

Were the shoe on the other foot, the conservative would have already stepped down, just to avoid the APPEARANCE of a conflict of interest or impropriety. That's the difference between the 2 partys. The GOP goes overboard to do what's right, while the Dems presume they're right, and screw what anyone else may think.

Has Bidens kids been draged into this? He has a son who's a lobbist, evil rite? Has he been flogged by the press for saying, FDR sould have gone on TV in 1929? Did they beat him over the head when he asked a guy in a wheelchair to stand? NO! Palin gave a bad interview, but if she had said things like this, they'd play them over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over.

Gwen Ifill didn't write the debate questions; she's just the one reading them aloud.

Who would you suggest be the mediator? Who is impartial enough, and has never written a single thing that was published?

There's a difference between being politically savvy and being a good orator.

I mean, look at Ron Paul - were it not for the content of his speeches, he'd be a damned remedy for insomnia, wouldn't he ?

There's plenty of politically smart folks who are lousy orators, and vice versa, Palin may be a fairly decent orator, but she's got no CONTENT and is politically stupid, as is McCain as witnessed by making a speech advocating nuclear power right next to Fermi, to a bunch of UAW folk who didn't want it in the first place and were still holding a grudge about that pesky little near meltdown thing...

Obama isn't politically the sharpest pencil in the box either, but he's got potential, especially for a rookie - and has done pretty damn good up against the media spin machine, up to and including winning over some normally right-leaning media folk.

Don't gimme that shit about liberal bias neither, cause it's about 30/70 to the right when it comes to the folks who make content decisions even if many reporters and commentators are centerist-left.

Sinclair, Hearst, Murdoch, those empires are far right, hard right, and if you wanna get into the media history are actually in part responsible for a LOT of needless carnage in their time, for a fact you can practically lay the majority of the spanish-american war right at the feet of Hearst, who's actions coined the term "Yellow Journalism" and various nefarious deeds are addressed in excruciating detail by Upton Sinclair in "The Brass Check".

And when pressed, many of em admit it, too.
"You wish to know my "confidential opinion as to the honesty of the Associated Press." My opinion, not confidential, is that it is the damndest, meanest monopoly on the face of the earth--the wet-nurse for all other monopolies. It lies by day, it lies by night, and it lies for the very lust of lying. Its news-gatherers, I sincerely believe, only obey orders."
-James H. Barry, editor of the San Francisco Star.

Turner on the other hand is more Centrist-Liberal, and NPR is Centrist-Conservative, and in overall practice neither one has been as quick to resort to outright falsehood or deliberate distortions as the "Three Kings" of hard right mis-reporting.

Murdoch in particular has taken it straight into the realm of parody, and put himself in the same credibility bracket as screamsheets like weekly world news and pro wrestling.

So in that particular poisonous atmosphere, for a rookie like Obama to even hold his own, which I grudgingly acknowledge he has done, is a damn commendable acheivement even if I do happen to intensely and passionately dislike the sumbitch and more than half his policies.

But the other end has put me in the stomach churning position of completely despising ninety percent of their policies and all of their current potentials, so what the fuck do I have left BUT to yank for the guy I hate the least and set up some pre-emptive political kneecapping ?

And all the while I get to hear dimwits pluggin and chuggin the Kool-Aid of a collective of shitheels I can historically PROVE are an outright danger to everything american when they're in power, regardless of the party they happen to be pulling for at the time, cause for you historically challenged folk, the NeoCons initially formed in the office of Scoop Jackson, a fucking Democrat.

I don't often throw this gauntlet at folk, cause for most their lack of education on the matter is due to the deliberate paucity and distortions of the public education system and not completely their fault, but imma throw it now.

You quite literally have no fucking clue what you're talking about, no goddamn background to work with, and utterly no knowledge of the history and behavior of mainstream media in either the general or specific sense, and if you spent half the time actually learning about it instead of spouting spoon-fed falsehoods they shoveled at you in the first place, you wouldn't respect a single one of em, least of all the sumbitches leading you on with a phony carrot like some damn spavined mule too stupid and lazy to kick the bastard holding it and actually get the carrot while they're writhing on the ground afterwords.

And that's the question, dude...

Are you smarter than a mule ?

NONE of these fuckers is your friend, not a single blasted one, and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you'll realize that both brands of koolaid are just plain poison.

From Whozit's source article:

Quote:

The day before the Joe Biden-Sarah Palin debate, columnist Michelle Malkin wrote in the New York Post about Ifill's book, saying "she's so far in the tank for the Democratic presidential candidate, her oxygen delivery line is running out."

That's ironic: Malkin, who's in the tank and up the ass of anyone running on a Republican ticket, says Ifill's oxygen delivery line is running out. This from one of those who've hitched their wagons to a wretched old man who actually NEEDS an oxygen tank!

Well, I for one am outraged. Gwen Ifill is so sexist. In introducing the candidates, she first introduced "the Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin" (ladies first, I suppose), and then introduced "the Democratic candidate, Joe Biden."

That sexist Ifill completely dissed Biden, and didn't even refer to him as "Senator" in the introduction.

If Biden is deemed the loser of the debate, you'll know it was because the fix was in when they hired Ifill...

Mikey, Malkin is in the tank for who pays her.

Her, Maggie Gallagher, Susan Estrich and Cynthia Tucker have all taken money from the administration in exchange for writing "editorials" supporting their dumbass plans, and been caught doing so.

In fact I knew that before it came out simply by observation...

See, my neck of the woods has two mainstream newspapers, both rabidly anti-union, and rabidly right wing besides, the Freep and Detnews, and care to guess who's columns they run ?

That's why I found DeVos so laughable, when you're a hard right candidate, and turn both local hard right newspapers wholly against you within three months of starting your campaign...

Not to mention the DeVos Granholm debate, which went about like this...
DeVos ---> <--- Granholm

So, basically, those four were prettymuch the only columnists the local papers ran, you see.

And when those columns went from ho-hum another politician, to touting the same dude they'd been mocking for almost a year as near-deified, I wondered why... and found the hell out, right about the same time NBC did as well.

Believe me, if you topped the financial offer, they'd turn right around and claim shrub was the anti-christ without so much of a blink, and pardon me if it sounds a bit sexist, but the term media whore very much applies to them.

Oh, and in an additional irony ?

Take the example of Yahoo's news-opinion page, and golly gee, who are the primary commentators, assisted by Ann Clueless and *snicker* "RealClearPolitics" a falsefront wholly owned by the neocons that initially falsified every ounce of it's original information up to and including founding it in the name and address of a guy who'd been soundly dead for three years prior.

The only "Balance" they offer is The Nation (Center-Conservative), Christian Science Monitor (Center-Conservative) and Ted Rall (Center-Left).

So, four hard right columnists, Ann clueless and RCP, that's six for six.

A half point each for Nation and CSM, that's seven.

A half point each for Nation, CSM and Rall to the center for one and a half, and a final half for Rall's ever so slight left bent.

7 - 1.5 - 0.5

Sooo, let's crunch the numbers...

Right 77.77% ( Center 16.5% ) Left 5.5%

Oh yeah, such a liberal bias that is, isn't it ?

Also, given the extreme lack of morals exhibited by most of these columnists, do you really think if someone offered more money they'd not suddenly think Obama is the new messiah ?

If Soros was buying coverage, which, given that the old bastards financial data is public fucking knowledge, is just a ridiculous myth like every other flim flam faery tale the rightwing has pushed....

Then that would have been the end of the line for shrub a long time ago, since even with the support of 70+% of the fucking media nonstop, he can't seem to manage an approval rating in double digits no matter how the spin doctors load the poll.

Anyhows, there's no such thing as a neutral party concerning something as political as a debate, and I figure it this way....

Ifill is actually gonna be nice to em so that no one could scream bias - just imagine for a sec if you hired someone like me who absolutely despises both candidates, their veeps, and their whole fuckin party and policy set ?

Technically, I'd be a neutral, since I'd like to throw the whole feckless lot in a fiery pit and don't see a dimes worth of difference between em, right ?

But if you had a choice between me and Ifill running this thing... you wouldn't pick me, unless you really hate both sides in a pretty sadistic fashion.
