First, the excuse that public speaking, and specifically debating skills, are not important qualifications for a VP nominee is there if she chokes.

Second, Almost every McCain supporting pundit today is saying "Her handlers need to let her be Sarah Palin instead of training her". This is the important one if she does well. Because not only does it render the need for debate camp, and all that book learnin' needless, but it implies that she never needed it. That's pretty damn crafty.

So if she wins or does okay...all mistakes of the past were not her fault!

If she fails...debating isn't important.

Those Republican strategists don't get paid the big bucks for nothing.

Because of Ifill, she sould back out of the debate. The Democrates canceled there debate on FOX NEWS for less.

She doesn't need to though. Ifill will only be added to the excuse. If she chokes, they can say "debates have been historically biased and don't represent a skill that is neccessary to be an effective Vice President.

Then they can show footage of the Stockdale debate failure. Show how unfair Ifill was to Cheney when Cheney asked that she change the rules of the debate. And Viola!...Palin the victim!, whom of course is strong through all of the injustice...bleck!

It's my opinion that the press, and comedians, can sell Palin material more easily. Saturday Night Live, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Real Time w/Bill Maher, and the rest of Hollywood, do comedy well. Fox doesn't do comedy well...that's why the 1/2 Hour Comedy Hour failed, and "Red Eye" sucks. Conservatives I know have a sense of humor, so I don't get it?

But anyway...Palin's gaffes are funnier out of the blocks than Biden's. Liberal media chooses to make fun of Palin, and Conservative media reports Biden's gaffes in a business suit. People are desperate to laugh.
