Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

I expect there would be a selloff no matter who won. And in fact, there have been similar selloffs unrelated to politics in recent weeks. I think it is less than genuine to suggest that a dip in a falling stock market is attributable to the President Elect.

In order to understand whether your arguments are politically motivated or rationally motivated, simply ask yourself: Would I say this about the stock market if Mccain won? Or would I, in that case, offer an alternative view?

Merely a poke at some here in RWED, they know who they are.

Maybe he never will be...

'Cause possibly the Chief Justice takes his Oath seriously...

Obama-san plainly doesn't :

"...If a Presidential candidate would rather litigate and use legal technicalities to obfuscate, instead of answering and providing the proof of a very simple question, "are you QUALIFIED and/or ELIGIBLE pursuant to the United States Constitution to serve as President of the United States", WHY WOULD YOU VOTE FOR HIM, when he and his party says you have absolutely NO right and NO STANDING to question him/them.

Barack Hussein Obama refused to answer the simple question and instead hid behind the technicality of standing claiming none of us "United States Citizens and Registered Voters" have STANDING to raise the issue and/or ask questions. Vote as if it
is your last opportunity ever. Obama has proven he does not respect any of us, our United States Constitution and/or Laws of our Country."

P-R , in your Honor , being that I have compassion and insight regarding your condition , I'm donating Thirty Quid to the obamacrimes cause...

Okay , I'll be pleased to start sending you some notes...

Remember I said 'Lawful Money' ?

Soon as you can prove in this public forum that a Federal Reserve Note is Lawful Money , I'll send a suitcase full of 'em your way...

Now , what was your address ? Send me a P-M with that ; and start posting your thesis on Constitutionally Lawful Money , and what constitutes 'Income' in a Constitutional sense , and we can do business...

Well, you know Argon is an ELEMENT ! In the PERIODIC TABLE ! Which means it has PROPERTIES - that can't be CHANGED ! And that makes it VALUABLE ! Because it's an ELEMENT !

Isn't that the exact argument you use for why gold is valuable ? And if it works for gold, why not Argon ? Or any other element ?

Another gorramned 'chemist' that doesn't recognize the intrinsic , chemical , and physical properties of Au and Ar ?

What was the last thing you made of argon ? How did you manage to change its intrinsic properties ?

A 'chemist' ought to know something about weights and measures , and the periodic table of the Elements... You're right about one thing...'Valuable' isn't on the periodic table , but it is ALL ABOUT 'Intrinsic'...

Well , it was YOU who wanted to get situational and esoteric , saying that all these
sorts of elemental things are ONLY what we make of them...

In other words:

Well, you know Argon is an ELEMENT ! In the PERIODIC TABLE ! Which means it has PROPERTIES - that can't be CHANGED ! And that makes it VALUABLE ! Because it's an ELEMENT !

Market's down another 400 pts today. This is total bullshit!

What it is, is the greedy, smarmy big hedge fund cocksuckers using their muscle to make some sort of post-election staetment against Obama. The Govt. ought to stop paying out on that bailout relief. The money is not being used as it was intended, to free up credit. It's being used by banks to buy other banks, pay exec bonuses, and the whole thing is a frikking middle finger in the citizens' faces.

No kidding. I keep ONE credit card, and as I pay it down, they keep lowering my limit. This in light of the fact that I've never been over my limit, never late on a payment, never done anything wrong as far as my credit goes, yet I'm unable to get credit if I need it.

Fortunately for me, I don't NEED it. I'm paying the card off (I had one large-ish purchase on it a couple months ago, and I've been paying it down since), then I'm cutting it up and sending it back to them, with a kind note explaining exactly where they can stuff it. :) The credit market right now is tighter than a frog's ass.

Thanks for the civility! For my part, I did intend just a little snark, but that's 'cause I am biased, know I'm biased, and generally embrace both my inner and outer bias. Got a shirt AND bumper sticker that say, "Ask Me About My Bias!". Bought a hoodie a couple weeks ago that says "My Bias Can Out-Bulls%#t Your Bias!"

Posting this here - a hint re "what brought down the credit market" (And no, it wasn't ACORN or Barney Frank)

“We have a good deal of comfort about the capital cushions at these firms at the moment.” — Christopher Cox, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, March 11, 2008.
As rumors swirled that Bear Stearns faced imminent collapse in early March, Christopher Cox was told by his staff that Bear Stearns had $17 billion in cash and other assets — more than enough to weather the storm.
Drained of most of its cash three days later, Bear Stearns was forced into a hastily arranged marriage with JPMorgan Chase — backed by a $29 billion taxpayer dowry.
Within six months, other lions of Wall Street would also either disappear or transform themselves to survive the financial maelstrom — Merrill Lynch sold itself to Bank of America, Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy protection, and Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley converted to commercial banks.
decisions made at a brief meeting on April 28, 2004, explain why the problems could spin out of control. The agency’s failure to follow through on those decisions also explains why Washington regulators did not see what was coming.
On that bright spring afternoon, the five members of the Securities and Exchange Commission met in a basement hearing room to consider an urgent plea by the big investment banks.
They wanted an exemption for their brokerage units from an old regulation that limited the amount of debt they could take on. The exemption would unshackle billions of dollars held in reserve as a cushion against losses on their investments. Those funds could then flow up to the parent company, enabling it to invest in the fast-growing but opaque world of mortgage-backed securities; credit derivatives, a form of insurance for bond holders; and other exotic instruments.

The five investment banks led the charge, including Goldman Sachs, which was headed by Henry M. Paulson Jr. Two years later, he left to become Treasury secretary.
A lone dissenter — a software consultant and expert on risk management — weighed in from Indiana with a two-page letter to warn the commission that the move was a grave mistake. He never heard back from Washington.
