If he was a Repulican the press would be yelling; How can you play golf at a time like this!! The Democrats would be yelling that he sould return to Washington ASAP for breifings, and that playing golf at this moment was proof he does'nt care about "The Childeren". Also if you notice this is in a U.K. paper, U.S. papers seem to have little interest. 4!

Whozit - the Daily Mail is a rag of a "newspaper". It lives to stir up nonissues. Obama is not the President and therefore can not make policy, yet.

Is it horrible what is happening? - yes. Are there other horrible things happening in the world such as genocide in Darfur? Starvation throughout the world? Did we all stop watching 'Dancing with the Stars" long enough to give a shit?

Yeah, it hasn't worked out too well for Hamas, either, just wishing the bully called Israel would leave them alone and find someone else to pick on...

Plenty of blame to go around on both sides on this one. I find it ironic that Israel, the child of a genocide, is now committing genocide on the Palestinians. I guess we'll have to give the Palestinians their own state now, too. Oh, wait - they used to have one, until we took it away!

eh bully israel is just the same as bully Palestians to me.

I think Palestinians were worse than the Israelees though because the Palestinians just kept inflaming the situation with the rockets and terrorist attacks. The terrorist group/ (cough cough ) government didn't want peace. The Palestinians just wanted to inflame the situation/ abuse people of a different culture because they think they are are trespassing on their land. The Palestinians murdered their own women and children by placing rockets in residential buildings and mosques. Then when the Israelees defend themselves by attacking the rockets people die. Funny thing some of the Palestinians have gotten warning phone calls from the Israeless to get out before they blow up the offensive weapons. It's a bit like watching a bunch of children fighting over a sandpit. The only way for it to stop is for racism/culturism in the arab world to stop. It could start by them changing their laws to enable people who are muslim to change to different religions. It might be a religious place but the only way it's going to improve is if one of them gets their own sandpit. I can't see that happening.

Being Black in the Work Place

"They take my kindness for weakness. They take my silence for speechless.

They consider my uniqueness strange. They call my language slang.

They see my confidence as conceit. They see my mistakes as defeat. They consider my success accidental. They minimize my intelligence to "potential".

My questions mean "I'm unaware". My advancement is somehow unfair.

Any praise is preferential treatment. To voice concern is

discontentment.

If I stand up for myself, I'm too defensive. If I don't trust them, I'm too apprehensive.

I'm defiant if I separate. Yet, I'm fake if I assimilate.

So, constantly I am faced with work place hate. My character is constantly under attack.

Pride for my race makes me, "TOO BLACK". Yet, I can only be me. And, who am I you might ask? I am that Strong Black Person... Who stands on the backs of my ancestor’s?

Achievements, with an erect spine pointing to the stars with pride,

Dignity and respect which lets the work place in America know, that I

not only possess the ability to play by the rules, but I can make them as Well!"

Eh? when has Hamas tried that strategy? Seems to me that even when they've signed a cease-fire they spend their time stocking up on weapons and infrastructure for full-scale war with israel - and then trying to provoke israel into it.

Obama will have plenty of time to deal, or not, with the whole Israel/Palestine blood war when he takes over office in January 2009.

Right now, Bush is in charge. Ahem!

Which brings up a question - Where is the Prez at this moment? Why hasn't the all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful and immaculate W solved this situation by now? He had 8 years after all.

Anyway, this War has been going on for thousands of years and will probably go on for thousands more.

Those that defend the Palestinian terrorists want to hold Israel to a standard that no government in the world can meet and defend their borders and people at the same time.

The reason Israel moved now is that if things get out of hand they know they can count on the USA, that might not be true after the inauguration.

Sorry about not making that clear. The Palestinians debiberately place the rockets in buildings with women and children. Why would the Palestinians store the rockets in a residential apartment building?
So Israel won't attack the rockets and to make Israel look bad when the rocket kills the people in the building.

It's time to nuke Israel, before they nuke US. We can use neutron bombs to prevent collateral damage to the Arabs and Christians. The narrest all Israelis in USA, re-educate them in Haliburton concentration camps, then deport them. That goes for Rahmbo too.

Oh ok. I get you.

I saw a palestinian on tv yesterday asking why we favor Israel in this war. Well for me it is that reason about how the palestinian government has bombs in the neighborhoods and kill their own children and women. Coming from a society that treats their women and children well, I can not understand it and it makes my skin crawl.

I also support Baraq Obama. I think that he will be good for bringing civil peace in America between different people. George Bush already did the impossible nutty job anyway of helping Iraq gain freedom and become into a functioning democratic state so if Baraq pulls out it might be the right time anyway I think. Iraq has a good chance as any now of becoming a functioning state and in 50 years if it is a success, the region will a few countries that stability. And where there is stability terrorism doesn't flourish hopefully.

Israel was established in 1948 through the help of Britain after the country Israel was partitioned half into Israel and Jordan which was 1/2 of the old Palestine. The arab-Israeli Wars caused the arab population to regain the territory of the West Bank and Gaza. The UN mandated the the new territory as arab territory.
Interesting that today 50% of the population in Jordan is made up of Palestinians from the old palestine. The old Palestine was made up of Jordan, Israel, Gaza and the West Bank.

I also went looking to find out when the Jews moved to Israel and I found this.

Quote:

Why did the Jews move to Israel? Short answer: because they had been persecuted just about everywhere else they went. Slightly longer answer: because at the end of WW2, they were looking for a place to set up a Jewish State where people who hated them would leave them alone, and at the time, nobody wanted the land that is now Israel, so the Jews moved in. As soon as the Jews moved in, the other residents of the middle east decided that they would destroy every settler of Israel, and haven't given up since. Their problem was, the Jews didn't particularly want to be destroyed, and they have defended themselves, quite admirably I might add.

Additional point

In November 1917 the British government had promised to set up a 'Jewish National Home' in Palestine, which at the time was a part of the Ottoman Turkish Empire. This then happened. (Balfour Declaration, 1917). The promise was controversial at the time. Obviously, in 1917 nobody expected the Holocaust or expected large numbers of Jews to have to flee there. For some Jews, returning there ('Zionism') was a long-standing dream or hope, and there were already a number of Jewish settlements in the area.

6 year old throw tantrum about not going to the sandpit, eventually the british succumb to the tantrum and the 6 year olds go to the sandpit. The 6 year olds push some other people out of the sandpit. Then the people who got pushed out of the sandpit get back into the sandpit they have to now share the sandpit. I hope that they can learn to share the buckets and rakes because that sandpit is now owned by 2 groups of 6 year olds. They should implement a program on all 6 year old children in Israel and the West Bank called Learning to share.

As much as I loathe to enter into a discussion on this level, which is very much a sandpit level, the data is so bad that I have to create it before it becomes a computer virus.

1. A jewish colony was set up as Israel after the annexation in 1919 of Palestine by the Empire. DLG was widely criticized for caving to pressure from jewish groups, and considered to have done so because of their banking power. The unnecessary diversion weakened the Empires regional and global grip. That's history.

2. Everyone expected the holocaust, including the jews. It was almost inevitable after WWI, because of the degree to which jewish bankers were blamed for aiding both sides. It wasn't Germany and a radical socialist govt. alone, the soviets began killing jews in the 20s. Hence, the reason for a Jewish homeland. This is why I support the idea

3. Presently, I support everyone's right to survival and self determination, but no one's right to go kill everyone else. Gaza was not a part of historical Israel, or present Israel, it's a sovereign foreign nation. Godspeed to anyone who defends them. They take themselves into great peril to save another, they're heroes.

To anyone with the dimwitted notion that some group gets to be the perpetual victim, I say what about 30 million Europeans who died because of the manipulations of the Gnomes of Zurich in WWI, and another 20-30 million who died as a result of the war. How about mass exterminations in Ireland, these get forgotten, even though they continued well into the 19th century. What about Armenia, the Ukraine? Everyone is the victim sometimes.

Serbs were the victims of a massive genocide in WWII, by Nazis as part of the holocaust. Not only did we feel we owed them no restitution, by the 1990s we were intentionally targeting their civilian populations. Why? Because the Serb govt. was behaving badly. So the Israeli govt. can go screw itself. Then, maybe its people will see that this sh*t will not be tolerated by the international community, and they will choose a new govt. given that they have the power to do so. If they don't, they can overthrow it. If they can't do that, I suggest the US lend a hand. Looks to me like time for a little regime change.

I don't think the religion of those launching missiles at Israel has anything to do with the response. If Canada started launching missiles over the border into the USA, I think our response would be measured at first, but if it went on for years our response would become more severe.
I do concede that we would probably attack the French speaking Provence first even if that's not were the missiles came from.
