"...It's a new modular package of nonlethal capabilities that they're fielding. They've been using pieces of it in Iraq, but this is the first time that these modules were consolidated and this package fielded, and because of this mission we're undertaking we were the first to get it."

"I was the first guy in the brigade to get Tasered," said Cloutier, describing the experience as "your worst muscle cramp ever -- times 10 throughout your whole body".

Boy oh boy, it's tough to keep a smile on these days. What's with these doom & gloom liberals? First Al Gore & Ted Turner announce to the world that due to global warming there won't be any food in 20 years, so get ready for cannibalism. (My personal Ted Turner favorite paranoid delusion btw)

Then Obama's out there every day preaching Catastrophe & Crisis in between the endless Bush blaming. Every time he or Geithner or Joey B. open their mouth Wall Street melts down. If it's Obama's plan, then he better fucking believe in it, believe it will work. He must say it will work. He needs to restore some measure of confidence. He can't play it both ways. Change we can believe in? Man, that's a long wait for a train that don't come if I ever heard one. Where's his smug confidence he had as a candidate these days? Also, 17,000 more troops to Afghanistan? Whoa, and what's their mission, other than to not get blown up? Why troops? Why not just fly round the clock bombing missions and level every mountain to dust?

That's just the beginning, but the bailout ire is mounting.

As I hear it, some Philly Councilmans car got worked over too.

I've said it many a time, easily ignored protests of "obedient" protestors who present themselves as easy targets for the Miami Model are not a threat - rioters with torches and a grudge, ARE.

Which one you think is more likely to have an impact on a politicians decision making process, eh ?

Heck no, and while I can't advocate it, or hell, even condone it cause of my own beliefs, one of them pro-bailout types swingin from a rope would be a damn powerful incentive to the rest, wouldn't it ?

But alas, history shows us that never goes well.

Tar and feathers, on the other hand...
Well, not tar exactly, but corn syrup and buckets of feathers ?

Hell yes, gets the message across while minimizing the chance of any real harm - don't want em capped, cause we'd just wind up replacing them with shitheads of equal jackassery, want em scared shitless of their constituents, LIKE THEY SHOULD BE.

Want it abundantly clear to them that unless they get the hell out of the country, no amount of corporate cash will protect em from the ire of our people.

Yeah , the level of denial is palpable...

There was a secret meeting of CONgress on March 13th , LAST YEAR , on contingency plans for the coming crisis...

If you see the 'bailout' ire as significant , then the ire from the food riots will really begin to get the notice of a lot more Folk...

And when did I mention a news outlet?

And how often do you think news outlets posts here - since I specifically said every other "thread" (as in, not "article" or "report").

I was speaking of the hysteronic chumps around here predicting, if not wishing for, riots and wars because things aren't being done their way.

Try reading rather than jumping to conclusions, next time. K?

Meanwhile, Obama still has a decent approval rating. Which would not be the case if "everyone" hated the stimulus package as much as some here want to believe.

Now now, be nice boys.

I think that having some level of concern over the potential is wiser than pretending it can't happen, cause things can go south FAST if you're not adequately prepared for them.
(See Also: Katrina)

I don't see it as hysteria or doom and gloom as much as "This looks like it could go ugly, maybe we better see about that not happenin..."
Some folks take it too far, sure, but that's anything.

And yanno, one of the more fun things about being an Anarchist is that liberals call you a rightwing nutjob, and conservatives call you a dirty commie.

So, what did I say that was incorrect?

Point out those on the left predicting riots and civil war. Because it'll take me mere seconds to pull up several posts from those on the right saying such. Note I didn't say it was only from the right leaners on the board, if you want to claim that you and Frem or others are not on the right (which I'd grant to a degree). But there are those like Zit, Rappy, and Kirk who prove my point quite readily. Now, show me some on the left.

Please, go ahead, you are so smugly certain, prove me wrong. Please. Go ahead, I'd like to see it.

WASHINGTON -- A number of U.S. institutions with licenses to hold nuclear material reported to the Energy Department in 2004 that the amount of material they held was less than agency records indicated. No , because the creation of crisis is the modus operandi of 'government' these days...

Their creation of the perceptions is the driver for the new 'reality' , and the means by which the public are led to surrender their freedoms for more perceived 'security'...

It's what will enable the imposition of martial law...It's a virtual fait accompli...

You misunderstood, then you couldn't even acknowledge that fact.
