Every word out of Biden's mouth could be a gaffe (he's almost there already), and yet next to Palin he'd still look like a founding member of Mensa.

Quote:

If I went to a toothless redneck bar near a polling station during the 2008 elections...I would get a bunch of "USA-USA's!!!", and "Fu#k Liberals", and if I asked questions about why they were voting for McCain I would have gotten all kinds of "Cuz Obama's a commie!", and a bunch of "I dunno...I just do!"'s. Then if I showed Fox News and Rush clips bashing Obama, I could come up with the same bigotry driven crap Zielger has regurgitated all over the floor.
Quote:

That was pretty f^&king offensive. I don't think there was a lot of truth in it. I live in the heart of redneck country. I don't think I heard any ethnic slurs against anyone except against Sarah Palin, and Oh, I'm still hearing them. Oh, and Todd, and Bristol, and some agism against McCain. In person. In the media, there was some Muslim bashing, but not a lot of racism I heard. And yeah, most of the guys here, they voted for McCain Palin. But they weren't all nazi about it. they just related to them, people who actually knew what a shotgun was, or nascar, who could bowl higher than 37. But when Obama won, they were all like "oh, that's cool." I think there's maybe two guys in town who were upset. Most of them were like "anh, he sounds kinda like reagan, might not be too bad." And you coulda gotten a lot of fuck bush from these guys, but most of em have most of their teeth.

But one small quibble, when your liberal crowds get together in your liberal bars, no one chants USA!? I mean, it's the USA. You don't support the USA? What to they chant Al-Qae-Duh!

People don't vote on hotness. Recently I saw a line up of stars and models, women in the news, and one of them was sarah palin was one of them, and I did a double take, didn't recognize her at first just thought, hey, she's hot.

I can see how straight women and gay men might miss that.

Well, I live in redneck land, too, and I did see some of that behavior. One neighborhood put up a billboard that said "Obama is a Terrorist".

We've had to have meetings at my school to discuss how to deal with the sudden swell of racial insults being tossed around by kids right after the election - stuff that in most cases, they heard from their parents first.

And literally the day after the election, I heard a number of adults comparing Obama to Hitler, or saying we're on our way to a facist state - again, the next day.

So, yeah, that sentiment is out there. You may not have seen it, but that doesn't mean it's not there.

And "ethnic" smears against Palin. Come on, you can't be serious. Gotta call bullshit on you there. Maybe if you'd said "sexist", you'd come off as less silly. Knee-jerk defense is one thing, but that's just kinda dumb.

Yeah, to remind everyone what you think ' pretty ' is.

I know you might not like Palin, but to call her ugly is flat out disingenuous. As much as I despise Granny Nanny Pelosi, I still have to give her props, for lookin as good as she does, at her age. Sure, at times she looks like a stomped on bullfrog, but other times, like during Barry's speech, she didn't look half bad. She was clearly on some amphetamines, but she looked decent enough.

This from the guy who just posted two images suggesting all Republicans were attractive, and all Democrats are ugly. Not to mention the one who two months ago couldn't post anything bad about the government, and now can't post anything good...

Actually, I think this is why no one takes you seriously. Something about parroting back other peoples lines to them, and then throwing a hissy fit because people don't agree with you, swearing and calling them names. That's childish. Saying I find Palin less attractive than a slapped arse is just a factual statement.

MALBADINLATIN

It looks like I don't need to answer the posts that didn't agree that Palin is the stupidist politician since George Bush.

As part of thier pact with the Devil, Conservatives must field a candidate of unimaginable incompetance every so often. Dan Quayle 80's, George Bush 00's, Joe the Unlicensed tax dodging former welfare recipient ??'s, Sarah Palin 10's.

We've got CPAC coming up and it's going to be desperate. Bobby Jindal blew his Presidential chances yesterday. Tim Pawlenty has skeletons in his closet. Palin is a joke. Michael Steele is more journalist than politician. What a mess. All that backed up by impotent Dixiecrats turned evangelical Republicans whom I'm sure still like segregation.

The Republican party is unraveling exactly like the Whigs did in the mid 1800's. Good ridance in advance. And to get started I'll stop listening to you now like Washington already has.

Mal,

You over the top, bloviating hyperbole is nothing short of irrational.

Palin is " stupid " ? You've got nothing but your unhinged, baseless hatred for the Right to lay that on.

And Joe the Plumber is yet to be a candidate for anything, but was just a typical working American, who was besieged on by the Left wing media because he dared to QUESTION Herr Obama. Where the hell do you get off getting angry at him? Where's the justified rage at a media who'd attack a private citizen for doing what we ALL should be doing, and that's putting tough questions to those in elected office ?

Oh, and you want to talk tax dodging? Hell, what about Charles Rangel or Tim Geithner , or half of Obama's choices for his cabinet positions? Spare us all the faux indignation, please.

Your cry fest over the status of the GOP wishful thinking, at best and makes about as much sense as a Kennedy at a Wal-Mart.

She didn't evade anything, dumbass. There was a legitimate question as to whether she was due a per diem or not, and whether that was taxable income or not.

Compare that to Charlie Rangel, head of the powerful tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, who " forgot " to pay taxes on beach front property he owned, or Tim Geithner, the WunderKid Treasury Secretary who is too big to fail, and who signed a form affirming he KNEW the $$ he was being paid was to off set the tax $$ he owed, yet STILL didn't pay his taxes. Only when his name came up for the Treasury gig did he " fess up " and pay those taxes owed, but he conveniently didn't have to pay ANY late fees or penalties. Plumb sweet deal, if you can swing it. I know I couldn't.

It's more than that. She used state money to transport her kids, which is both fraud and undeclared income.

As for the per diem, every tax expert said she owed tax on it. There was NO question about it. Except perhaps in your mind.

Say, is SHE one of the 95% of 'them' who don't pay tax ? It sure seems like it.

Rue, you just don't understand how things work in RapLand™. When a Democrat owes back taxes, it's a fraud and a scandal, because they're obviously a cheat. When a Republican owes back taxes, it's because they're being singled out and picked on by the Democrats.

In RapLand™, it's ALWAYS the Democrats' fault. Even if it isn't, it is.

rue, you're so full of shit. It was clearly a misunderstanding. Each state is different in their tax codes, and this was nothing but a minor issue. Unlike the Rangel or Geithner issue, where massive, major fraud was committed. In Geithner's case, we're talking $ 34,000 in unpaid taxes. $$ He was PAID, and knew he owed, he simply chose NOT to pay. As for Rangel, the Chair of the House Ways and Means's Committee, he "forgot" to declare over $ 75k in income from rental property in the Dominican Republic.

How many of us have rental property in the Caribbean? Anyone ? Not I.

Nice dodge. Explain away how Palin's problems aren't her fault, please. "Tax laws are different from state to state..." Please! So with all of her vaunted executive experience you've been prattling on about for months, NOW you're going to go with the "how could she possibly know what the laws are in the state where she's the governor?" Yes, tax laws DO vary from state to state - which might actually mean something if she were a newcomer to Alaska.

As for Geithner and Rangel, please show me where I said their problems weren't their fault. I pointed out that for you and your ilk, PALIN'S problems MUST be the fault of the Democrats, but I never said that a Democrat's problem wasn't his own. It's a good try at deflection on your part, but it's still weak.

Okay, short-bus - SHOW ME where I've given ANYONE a free pass.

And I'm sorry, but I'm simply not going to take your word for it that "her issue is so much less than theirs". You claim fraud for the others, yet INSIST that Palin's issue is nothing but a misunderstanding. You refuse to even entertain the possibility that (a) the others' issues may result from similar misunderstandings of the tax law, or (b) that Palin's issues may well be the result of fraud and premeditation.

I'm not saying either one of those are the case. In ALL such cases, there should be an investigation, and if deemed fraudulent, there should be charges filed and prison sentences handed down, not to mention penalties, fines, and loss of any eligibility to hold ANY government job in the future.

There is apparently solid evidence that Palin took some $17,000+ in per-diem pay that she wasn't eligible for, and charged some $19,000+ in bogus travel charges for unofficial, non state-business-related trips for her family. You claim this is so much less than Geithner's $34k in unpaid taxes, but it sound like some pretty major money to me. It sounds like felony territory, in fact.

Your partisan blinders are showing again, badly. Instead of investigating ALL tax evaders, you simply want to brush aside GOP members who run into problems, saying their problems were clearly "minor issues". Either it's a crime when anyone does it, or it's not a crime worth pursuing at all.

Hypocrite, thy (notice I spelled it correctly) name is AuRaptor.

Why do I have to explain to you which SHOULD be common knowledge? This is very readily available info for all to discover, if you're not too scared of the facts

Tim Geithner is the TREASURY SECRETARY. He signed forms affirming that he was paid $$ from the company he worked for which was equal to the amount of $$ he owed in taxes. He did this for FOUR years, and each and every year, he took the $$ and then failed to pay the taxes.

There was no mistake, what so ever. This was willful tax evasion. Geithner owed 34 k in TAXES! Palin was due some , but not all of the $$ she was given. The 17k or what ever she didn't pay taxes on isn't 17k in TAXES she didn't pay, just the amount she wasn't taxed on. What rate that is, I can't say..... 10 % ??? So, she OWES what... $ 1,700 ? vs 34,000 that Geithner owes ?

Rangel is the chair of the House Ways and Means committe, which deals in what ? TAXES! And yet he paid NO taxes on the Caribbean beach front property he has. Makes me wonder what other property he has, which might not be known, that he's skimming income from, but not paying taxes.

Palin's issue is different because of the facts that they were good faith mistakes. It was a matter of degrees where the mistakes were made, not whole sale evasion. She COULD write off her husband on a business expense, but not her kids. And Per Diem? Hell, how many folks take a per diem and then make their own lunch, or go eat some where cheap , and pocket the rest ? Hell, most folks in business usually take a per diem and then tack on expenses, and that's simply how things are.

You give a pass by vilifying her tax issues as being some great fault on her part while glossing over the Dems tax issues. Treating hers as being some great show of incompetence or bad intent, and then barely mentioning what REAL evasion was committed by the members of the Dem party.

The more one examines the facts of the cases, the clearer it becomes that the Democrats scammed the Federal Gov't, intentionally, and Palin's was an honest mistake.

That's utter horseshit. I "give a pass" by saying that we should investigate ALL of these allegations? In your partisan little world, saying "we should investigate" is tantamount to giving a free pass?

Point is, we were talking about PALIN here, not Geithner or Rangel. If they've committed fraud, I'd love to see them headed to the Greybar Hilton. But you've yet to show ANY evidence of where Palin's actions were simple mistakes or unintended blunders on her tax forms.

Investigate Geithner, by all means. Investigate Rangel, by all means. Investigate Palin, by all means. If there's evidence of a crime - whether intentional or not, it's still a crime - then charge them accordingly. Convict 'em if you can, and run all the fuckers out of government.

What part of that don't you get?

I've shown exactly that, and I've shown how Geithner specifically signed forms avowing he KNEW he was getting paid extra $$ that was intended to cover the cost of his taxes owed, and yet he STILL didn't pay those taxes, and then claimed he " forgot " ? THAT'S the utter horse shit here, and the fact that Geithner didn't pay any penalties either. How much you want to bet Palin will pay late fees and taxes ? How much you wanna bet Rangel never does either?

WHERE?!

Where have you shown that? Where have you shown anything other than "because I said so"? You want us to take your word for it, but your word isn't really worth much around here.

Again, for the umpteenth time, can you please show me where I said that we should give him a pass, that we should NOT investigate this?

On this part, we're in agreement. If it were you or me, there'd be not only late fees and substantial penalties, but probably criminal charges of the felony variety...

Hate to piss on your parade, but according to your own words, "I'll bet" simply means you don't know and haven't looked into it, but just want to say it anyway to make your point.

Regardless, I've said more than once now that Geithner and Rangel should be thoroughly investigated - ideally by a known-Republican prosecutor - and if there is solid evidence of wrongdoing (and especially if there is solid evidence of malfeasance and malice aforethought), they should be charged, tried, and if convicted, sent to prison for a long, long time.

Once again, I fail to see how asking to uphold the same standards for all is "giving the Dems a pass".

You have no case, except a deeply ingrained case of partisan blindness.

Kennedy at Wal Mart...tsk tsk tsk...The now Solid Republican South is a tribute to the cleverness of the haves getting the have-nots to work against their own interests: The main attraction the Republicans hold for the "regular people" who make up the bulk of their Southern constituency...is that they are the party of the white man. The decendants of segregationists now campaign for the wealthy, by protesting taxes for the rich!.....imagine that, mostly working class people doing the dirty work for the wealthy...can you spell b-i-t-c-h-e-s?

The 1948 Dixiecrat revolt was the Southern bolt from the Democratic Party in protest of Harry Truman's civil rights plank.

Then in the 60's - 70's, Segregationists left the Dixiecratic party because they had nowhere else to run, except Wallace and his band of confederates. The Republican party didn't takeover the south...the bigoted southern white Dixiecrats sought refuge in the Republican party, which had previously lost all of it's liberals and moderates. Dixiecrats became closet segregationist Republicans, the first generation of neocons. Southern Republicans today are 911 neocon evangelicals.

and they are still 87% white.

Rap...Evangelical Dixiepublicans and 911 Neocons are all your side has left, and the party is rank with ages old anglocentric paranoia. Rush is proof of that.

Sarah Palin represents the long dead Norman Rockwell innocence that Conservatives persue that the global economy will swallow whole along with whats left of America if Dixiepublicans and 911-neocons like Palin, Jindal, Pawlenty, and Steele get thier mitts on any kind of power.

To your credit, and to my dismay, Dixiepublicans and 911 Neocons will not go the way of the Whigs. The Whigs died out because they didn't take a decisive enough side on states rights. You guys have clearly retarded platforms on everything I care about, but platforms nonetheless, with plenty of sheeple to mindlessley obey thier wealthy white masters.

"Ms. Palin received around $17,000 in per diem payments from the state for 312 nights she spent in her Wasilla home rather than the Governor’s mansion in her first 19 months in office. Per diem payments are a daily allowance to cover meals and lodging while on the state’s business."

So, she made $54 PER NIGHT FOR A YEAR AND A HALF to stay at home. Sounds like a typical repubican scam to me. Futher, she owes FEDERAL taxes on them as well, which are not subject to state rules.

"Several tax accounting blogs have raised the question: should Sarah Palin pay federal income taxes on the per-diem payments that she received from the state of Alaska for nights spent in her Wasilla, Alaska, home?

Anthony C. Infanti, a professor of tax law at the University of Pittsburg law school, raised the issue ...

“It’s obvious that the per diems are taxable income. There’s no question it is taxable,’’ Mr. McIntyre said. “If it were not taxable, no one would pay taxes. People would convert their salary into a per diem and no one would pay taxes. You can deduct travel expenses when away from home. But you cannot deduct travel when you are at home.”"

Is THAT a tough question for you ? 'What newspapers do you read ?' A Gotcha' question ? Because if it is, what you've just done is prove YOU are right there in her league.

We've been over this before, and I'll proudly say it again.

Those you mischaracterize as " dixiepublicans " and " 911 neocons " are in all honesty and reality - REAL AMERICANS. We're not going away, we'll never cede the Union to any one ,and we'll defend the Republic from all enemies, foreign AND domestic.
