As for what democrats would have done if Palin had been a democrat - there's a lot of ASSuming going on. (And then a lot of unwarranted self-congratulations at having made a non-existant point.)

But we can take a little bit of real data and extrapolate - there WAS a democrat who was running who was far more experienced with national and international issues than Palin, and that was Hillary Clinton. And her campaign against Obama was dirty, though not as dirty as Palin's was against Obama.

And what DID democrats do with a dirty campaigner ? Well, she lost. Apparently that kind of go-se doesn't sit as well with democrats as it does with repubicans.

There's plenty at Democratic Underground, but of course, you'll just dismiss those away as nothing but 'fringe' cases, while trying to COWARDLY point to the few folks on the Right who called Obama a 'muslim' or what not. Tit for Tat. I gave you 2 hard examples, and there's tons more out there. like Madonna calling out Sarah Palin "Sarah Fucking Paling" ..... but no amount of evidence will convince you. You're just too much a god damn myrmidon to even GET IT.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/08/madonna-goes-off-on-sarah_n_1
32990.html

And, as predicted, you'll rag on me for using Madonna as a reference, even after you've ignored the other examples I've given, and asked for more.

You've sunk to troll status on this issue, and I'm not gonna play.

Examples given - game over - I win.

Not really.

How long ago was that again? I've seen the pictures of her when she won, I can see why she did, though of course I've never seen any thing of the other competitors. For all we know her nearest rival could have been a runner up at crufts. Still not someone I go for, but then I have never been a fan of the overly made up 80's look she sported. Actually most winners of beauty contests I don't get, it's all fakery, and that doesn't do it for me. Fake eyelashes, fake breasts, enough makeup to protect her complexion from a small thermonuclear device, how's that attractive? Seems weird that anyone would want to have sex with a life size walking talking barbie doll, constructed from the same plastic. Yet the one how wins these things is always the one who's had the most cosmetic surgery, and would likely melt if you put them too near an electric fire. Some surgeons idea of mannequin perfection really isn't my idea of the 'perfect' woman. I find most beauty contestants to be really kinda ugly. I don't think Summer Glau ever entered a beauty contest, and she's pretty good by my book.

Anyway, now, no I still see nothing in her. She's got a man's jaw which turns me off some.

It's clear Sarah Palin had more than 'average' smarts, has experience in running Government effectively, and wasn't afraid to go after the " good old boy " network in her own state, hell.... even in her own PARTY!

If she were a Democrat, you'd be singing her praises from the hill tops, daily, nightly and ever so rightly.

In all honestly, she's far more qualified than the doofus we have in the VP office now, and has more real executive experience than the current White House resident.

TownHall is a major internet and media site for mainstream repubican opinion. So, what does TownHall spew ? Look up +"Townhall.com" +obama
+wright or
+ayers or
+muslim or
+traitor.
This search - +"townhall.com" +obama +ayers - has 50,800 hits.

By contrast, a google search of the democratic under ground, a site for satire (which they state at the top of their webpage) on this - +"democraticunderground.com" +palin +bimbo - yielded 383 hits.

TownHall is part the repubican party machinery. The democratic underground in NOT part of democratic party machinery.

If you want to complain, then start complaining about the democratic party's SNL campaign, or their MadMag campaign.

Back on topic -here we have all the best stuff about Palin:

Her tax issues were deliberate, carried out over a long time, based on specious claims that NO tax expert would condone or even excuse, and not a result of confusing tax laws and practices. I didn't also mention the awarding of contracts in Wasilla and the fact that her home was built for free by the same company, a matter of continuing investigation for fraud. She has a long standing history of fraud and tax evasion over many venues over many years

Her fiscal policies are equally disastrous both for Wasilla and Alaska.

Her knowledge of national and international issues was nil.

Palin is popular among a VERY narrow demographic - ultra conservative repubicans.

Among Alaskans, not so much:
"Some speculate Palin has every intention of running for president four years from now after tasting the national spotlight. She has yet to rule out a race for Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski’s seat two years from now. Murkowski’s seat opens the same time as Palin’s term as Governor ends. Palin may be better positioned to run for president after spending a couple years in the Senate. But how would she do against Murkowski?
A poll commissioned by TheAlaskaStandard.com and conducted by Dittman Research shows Palin would have a tough time beating Murkowski.
In fact, in a Republican primary, Murkowski would defeat Palin soundly, by a margin of 58 percent to 31 percent."

Palin can't change the oil market. No one can. Don't see where that's her fault. She has no tax FRAUD problems, because fraud implies intent, and you've shown no intent on her part to benefit illegally.

Again, this is far different than Tim Geithner's tax " problems" , where he went as far, for four years, to sign papers affirming he KNEW he was receiving $$ that was in the amount he owed in taxes, and he chose still to skip out on payment.

That's no mistake, or 'error', on our Treasury Secretary's part.

"Palin can't change the oil market. No on can."

If you read (and think, which I understand may be painful for you) I never said the oil market was her problem. In terms of public budgets, what I fault her for are two things: 1) taking over a small town that was running in the black and running up a huge deficit by her own efforts, and 2) despite her YEARS in Alaska, not understanding that the oil market is volatile, and so, spending as if it would last forever. Which it didn't.

"She has no tax FRAUD problems ..."

She has FRAUD problems regarding the contracts she awarded in Wasilla to a company that built her home for free, FRAUD problems over the year and a half she spent charging travel time for time she spent at home (something NO accountant would consider an honest mistake), and FRAUD problems regarding her use of public money to cart her kids around.

Her TAX problems are several fold: the state and federal taxes she didn't pay on the per diem money, and the tax she didn't pay on the public money she used to shuttle her kids around the country.

Between the two, there's a pattern of intentional ongoing fraud and corruption.

And then there's her lack of experience and the several other problems I mentioned.

Palin's got a problem for any national ambitions she might have. She may survive the vetting process and primary (seriously, I expect repubicans to be capable of anything, no matter how outrageous, treasonous or depraved), but she'll never survive the scrutiny of another national election.

What she went through last time was nothing. Bungled softball questions were her biggest problem.

But enough dirt was uncovered, by people with long enough memories, that she would have to defend herself against her own well-established record. And since then, it hasn't gotten better. It's gotten worse.

But what the heck. I should be encouraging Rap and all other repubicans who really like Sarah to go for it, just like I really want people to dig up Obama's birth certificate. Hmmm, yeah, that's a plan.

Rap - I agree. Palin is Jesus and Reagan rolled into one, who fortunately survived that unfair crucifixion she got at the hands of the media and will come back better, stronger, faster. She's got a plan for this world, and beyond. Credentials ? She don't need no stinkin' credentials. She's got something better.

In reality though, the above is in exactly the same vein as most political satire cartoons. It's satirising her claim that 'hockey moms' were like pitbulls wearing lipstick. It's perfectly legitimate, and I'm willing to bet if it was a pictures of some Democrat, you'd be defending it as vehemently as you do the Monkey Cartoon.
