The quote is correct, college-EDUCATED and college-GRADUATE have always been GOP voters. The perpetual college-STUDENT and college NON-GRADUATE sectors are liberals, voting mostly for Democrats. One they enter the real world, they open their eyes, grow up, and vote GOP.

Your figures show that, in a predominantly liberal turnout, College Grads were even for both parties, and represented over a quarter of the vote, and Some College had a 4% margin, representing almost a third of the votes - whoooo, impressive.

Let's try 2004:
No HS (4%) 49%R 50%D
HS Grad (22%) 52%R 47%D
Some Coll (32%) 54%R 46%D
Col Grad (26%) 52%R 46%D
Post Grad Study (16%) 44%R 55%D

There appears to show almost a third of voters had some college, giving an 8% margin for GOP, and another quarter of voters as College Grads wiht a 6% margin.

How about 1988?
College 58%R 42%D
High School 54%R 46%D
Grade School 45%R 55%D

Hmm, not the greatest breakdown, but "College" has a 16% margin - that being the largest margin of the 3 breakdowns shown (didn't find better breakdown.

How about 1984?
College 61%R 39%D
High School 57%R 43%D
Grade School 49%R 51%D
Well, then "College" group only showed a 22% margin, and was still the largest margin of the groups listed. One might conclude that "College" voters were more likely to vote GOP. huh.

So, when it comes to proving that historically, GOP voters were concentrated among the College Grads, I guess you really did your homework - or were you just being selective?

Even in your example of 2006, the margins for the College groups (0% and 4%) were significantly more GOP than the other groups (8% for next largest group). Golly, that's like, in line with, the other data, like man.

Of course, the original reference stated the elections of 1988 and 1992, and stated "they never returned" (the college grads who voted GOP). So picking 2006 as an example is sorta......?
