RUE

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

And not only that, Obama wasn't even born on EARTH!

He's a really ALIEN illegal alien. And he's going to rule earth for his masters from xdc^g!jkl*. And then they'll hunt us for fresh meat and process us by squeezing us through long tubes to explode our heads from our bodies, and collect all our meat in big room-sized stainless-steel bowls.

That's why he formed ACORN and destroyed the economy. To make us easier to hunt.

***************************************************************

It's all so clear now.

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

Yes, well, at least the Obamas gave them something useful, unlike the signed and framed photograph they got in return.

There's always E-Bay!

( But the Queen already had an i-pod. It wasn't a video ipod, but still. She already had a version of the gift we gave her. I doubt the Obamas had a signed pic of Her Royal Majesty. )

That's quite a reach. Are you THAT desperate for something to whine about when it comes to Obama?

By the way, I'll be there's probably a picture of the royal family *somewhere* in the White House, so it would seem they DO have a picture of the Queen already.

I wasn't whining , in the least. Just stating what I heard being reported. Also, as I understood, the photo they got was autographed. Does that mean it was personally written out to Barack and Michelle? I'm guessing that to be the case, so no, there would be no personalized autographed pic of the Queen in the W.H. And if there IS a picture of the Queen, then THEY don't have it, it belongs to the White House, we the people, and not the Obamas.

Personally, I get the impression that Barack Obama has a personal distaste for our closest ally. He returned the bust of Winston Churchill, practically blew off P.M. Brown and his wife on their visit over here, and then gives him a DVD box set, which wasn't even the right region.

No foolin'. I think there may be something to that. Why else would you return a gift ? If he didn't care for it, send it to some bureaucrat building, or to the U.S. Embassy in London.... anywhere. I know it wasn't to him, but to "return" it ? Sends a very distinct message that the gesture was not appreciated.

I been tellin y'all this from the get-go.

Although I think it's more complex than y'all are considering it, and some part of it is definately in relation to a history of them getting us involved in stuff that winds up having a horrific backlash to us for little to no effective gain on a national scale.

Of course, certain *other* countries which shall not be named are even worse for it, and I would seriously be pleased if we chose to use our diplomatic snubs THERE instead of with a country that does nominally share some good culture and history with us instead of a long precedent of abuse and exploitation.

Well, maybe Obama signed the iPod "To the Queen, Love, Barack".

Point being, you don't know, so you're happy enough to speculate and toss around conjecture.

'Course, he could've made it a bit more offensive to the Queen - he could've bought her the limited-edition, signed U2 model. 'Cause they're Irish, right? And that might really grind the Queen's gears.

In truth, though, it really is well past time the Obamas fired whoever the hell is running the White House protocol office, 'cause they truly do suck at picking out thoughtful gifts.

And I wonder if they even bought an iPod that would work with the screwy British electrics...

:eyeroll:

As it's been reported, is all any of us can go on. 'Happy' has nothing to do w/ anything here. But, as its been reported, while he didn't sign the iPod, he did include some of his choice speeches. I'm not kidding. He's THAT impressed w/ himself. I doubt even Bill Clinton would try to pull that off.

Actually, Slippery Bill not only would have loaded the thing up with his own speeches, but he'd have tried to slip it under her skirt to boot.

'Course, if you think Obama personally had anything to do with the iPod or the DVDs, you're living in a very deep hole. He doesn't do his own gift shopping; they have people for that. Which is why I said earlier that his chief protocol officer needs to be fired, and soon. Like yesterday. Or two months ago.

We're dealing w/ a radically different sort of President. One who has signed away much of the traditional powers the U.S. has held in recent history, and he's just getting started.
