Methods of Interrogation: Proxy (I/II)

Ok, now, first off you need a "dance partner" - a chatty sorta person able to switch topics on the fly and capable of keeping a conversation going long beyond the interest or patience of most average folk.

If I hadda pick someone around here I'd grab Citizen or Signym for the job, no offense, there, ppl.

Now, you sit the perp down across from the dance partner and introduce THEM as the interrogator, and the actual interrogator as a consultant or technical expert sitting in, or as an annoying observer foisted off by command, that works too - particularly a nice believable claim to be a pyschologist monitoring to prevent abuses, cause then they can even take notes without much notice or caring goin on.

And swing yer partner, do-see-do, the dance partner starts in with "Yeah, I know it's bullshit, you know it's bullshit, but I gotta play ball to get paid here..." (and make sure the initial questions are downright STUPID and/or stuff that's already obviously known!) and starts right in, encouraging the perp to join the conversation and turn it in whatever direction they want with just a hint of subtle guidance here and there, but mostly just keepin it going, you see.

Meanwhile the interrogator, sitting around more or less forgotten, discretely and carefully observes the responses of the perp to keywords, topics and concepts of the discussion - what causes them to clam up, what provokes an emotional, rather than logical response, what makes them angry, what is their pet peeve.. in short WHERE ARE THE BUTTONS ?

There's also a LOT of information that can be picked up this way by an outside observer to the conversation, especially with a review of the tape and corroboration of certain details the perp has no idea they let slip, cause as I said, the lies tell you every bit as much as the truths.

A great followup on this is a "mental health examination" on behalf of the pyschologist observer to "prove there is no abuse going on" complete with a few proddings of sensitive topics, followed soon after by another session with the dance partner, WITHOUT the observer(interrogator) present, cause they're in the next room with the tape recorder - as this encourages the perp to bitch about it, unknowingly spilling his guts in the process.

Couple rounds of this, and you're ready for the big show, you prep the perp with a nice long exercise period combined with a "logistics error" causing dinner to go unserved, the light fixture in/in front of their cell being on the fritz (complete with obvious maintainence tag hanging from it) and wait till they're just nodding off...

Then you kick em outta bed, and haul em off to a basement room using silent, grim enlisted type guys, older ones too, and let the perp make his own assumptions.

And then, in the room the "interrogator" is a huge friggin monster of a guy with a LOT of rank stripes and hashmarks (fuck officers, no one fears them, use a First SGT's uniform!) and a really loud voice, and worse, he knows EVERYTHING (i.e. he's playing from a script the interrogator has put together and is pushing for detail and/or corroboration of previous information the perp has no idea they fumbled) and he's right pissed off about it!

They'll shatter like plate glass hit by a meteor, most of em, at that point.

Up next, Proxy II: Sympathiser.

Apologies, imma have to delay following this up a while, since I can't be everywhere at once and there's a lot of stuff goin on needin to be addressed right now.

In the meantime, consider this bit by William S Lind on the nature of intel-gathering and the uselessness of the Mil-intel and alphabet soup boys.

http://www.lewrockwell.com/lind/lind160.html

And it's really not helpin matters treatin our troops like stupid children and then accusing them of being potential terrorists while threatening the very rights they *thought* they were protecting.

Of course, that just makes it ever so much easier to convince them to say no when the order comes down to engage american civvies - at the very least they'll be paralyzed while internal factions fight it out amongst themselves, cause you got fanatics like Rappy, too, and you can *imagine* how they'd feel about being allowed to open up on us "liberal traitors" right ?

And so, we eliminate that problem up front, as it were.

Frodo: "I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened."

Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us. There are other forces at work in this world Frodo, besides the will of evil.”
