Fraternal Order of Police funds lawyers for cops accused of perping crimes, so the poor cop dont have to pay that himself. Unlike all other defendants.

Our local PD is not dumb...and I don't think it counts as "hung-over" if he's actually intoxicated at the time of trial.

A fellow officer and the captain both thought he was out of line, yet the jury came back without a conviction. Wow. The video is pretty clear to me. He lifts her off the floor. He releases her to the ground. He doesn't stumble once. He didn't accidentally loose his grip. His hand released and moved away from her body.

That's messed up.

I've never seen a cop PICK UP a person to make an arrest, unless they're already laying on the ground and refusing to get up.

Prosecutors in this case probably took a dive. That's one way lawyers and judges brainwash a jury.

But a civil lawyer won't take a dive in an $11M case, and juries love paying victims of cops. It's like a game show.

Of COURSE the Prosecutor took a dive - there's too many ways the police, whom he is wholly dependent on in every way (gathering and providing evidence, rounding up witnesses, "firming up" each others testimony, making sure to "lose" exculpatory evidence...) can make his life hell and ruin his career if he doesn't do what their little criminal mafia wants done.

That particular dependency is one of the glaring conflict of interest problems which make a fair trial all but impossible, and let's not forget the Jury was probably given illegal instructions if not outright threatened - AND few jurys who are smart enough to realize the cop is gonna get off, either with mild sentencing or via appeal, AND that his *entire damn department* knows who they are and where they live cause they're part of the machine - are gonna risk their ass to convict a cop when they KNOW it ain't gonna stick anyways.

Think about it, the very same folk who used threat of force to make you come to that jury box, and displayed a clear intent, ability, and willingness to USE THAT FORCE AGAINST YOU, if you refused to comply...

Are the very same folk who are likely to hold a grudge and retaliate if you call one of them out!

Might as well just hold the jury at gunpoint, as that - at least it'd be more honest than the dog and pony show we got now.

Let's quit pretending any different, shall we ?
