On June 8, 1949, George Orwell's now iconic Nineteen Eighty-Four was first published.

It's now prophetic as Oceania seems to be in the making in the United States under the latest socialist regime.

It's fortunate and unfortunate that this novel was published. Fortunate because it warned us in advance that not only that what was written was possible, but it was already happening. Unfortunate, because it made a perfect blueprint for how it might happen.

The same could be said for Terminator 2: Judgement Day, but it doesn't look like we're heeding those warnings either.

The mistake is to think that we're just now becoming Oceania under the "latest" socialist regime. If you read your history books, Bush Jr was much more left of center on a whole lot of issues than JFK was. And it goes back a whole lot further than that on both sides.

Here's hoping when they reach he inevitable conclusion of this, we look more like "Brave New World" than "Nineteen Eighty Four".

Pleased that I'm not the only one to notice that...

Have seen several detailed articles about that fact in the alternative press , of late...

So 2009 is the 60th anniversery of a book published in 1949 about 1984.

The sequel (1985) was better.

Or...if you can't read, just watch CNN or say something negative about Obama in school.

Slow moving, yes, but I thought is was well done. Dark, grimy, seedy.....you want to take a shower after you watch it.( kinda like a Democrat Primary debate)... Trouble I always had is believing that the vast, vast majority just goes along with it all. There are only a very few "dissidents" who reject the way things are. This movie shows just what pathetic creatures we really are. And Hero, your status as an attorney will not insulate you from the wrath of Obama's media spies. Govern yourself accordingly friend.

Or a visit to a men's room in the Minneapolis airport. Wowk - talk about feeling like you need a shower after. Damned place is lousy with closeted conservatives taking a "wide stance"...

Is it now a GOOD thing for you neo-cons? Are YOU now "balls-deep" in support of Larry Craig's gayness?

Me? I don't care who you're screwing, as long as it's not me. And really, couldn't they just get a room? Public bathroom sex is just so gauche... Why not just snort some coke off the toilet tank while you're at it?

What I find hilarious about the Larry Craig incident is his utter hypocrisy (he's so typically Republican in that trait...); his "stance" on gay rights issues and his "stance" in a bathroom stall seem to be rather at odds with each other. You wanna be a dude-smoochin' pee-pee toucher? Go for it. But don't pretend to NOT be that, okay?

But of course you have no problems with hypocrite extraordinnaire & disgraced Democrat Elliot Spitzer, right? Champion of morality and rightousness, just another Democrat who can't keep it in his pants. I've always supported gay rights, so sorry to take that issue away from your arsenal of assininess.

Elliot Spitzer? Didn't he quit in disgrace?

You're really reaching, Jongsy, if you think I support him. And I'm sure you'll join me in condemning David Vitter as well, yes? Yes?

That would be illegal...gay sex is not.

Besides, there is no evidence they were going to have sex in the restroom...just because I hit on a girl in a bar does not mean I intend to bend her over the stool (although I would if that's how she wanted it, I mean hey...who are we to judge?).
