What I find interesting is the venom in the comments section against the parents for not having the baby in a car seat. Reminds me of the venom that gets hurled against parents who don't vaccinate. We as a society are quite religious and dogmatic about anything legislated to protect child safety. It seems almost superstitious to me.

Air bags are killers of children. So perhaps its the lawfirms and PR reps for the carmakers making those comments, besides the normal Police Stators?
