United Airlines Song Background (short version)

In the spring of 2008, Sons of Maxwell were traveling to Nebraska for a one-week tour and my Taylor guitar was witnessed being thrown by United Airlines baggage handlers in Chicago. I discovered later that the $3500 guitar was severely damaged. They didn’t deny the experience occurred but for nine months the various people I communicated with put the responsibility for dealing with the damage on everyone other than themselves and finally said they would do nothing to compensate me for my loss. So I promised the last person to finally say “no” to compensation (Ms. Irlweg) that I would write and produce three songs about my experience with United Airlines and make videos for each to be viewed online by anyone in the world. United: Song 1 is the first of those songs. United: Song 2 has been written and video production is underway. United: Song 3 is coming. I promise.

Never put a $3500.00 guitar in a $25.00 case.

Anvil is the only way to go.

I have to consider that if I ever fly with mine...

But still. on the level of customer service, why are most North American airlines so lacking

I watched an interview with the president of Cathay Pacific, and he hit the nail on the head when he commented how he personally hates transferring over to another carrier when he travels as the change in attitude is night and day.

I myself have found British Airways and Lufthansa to have better service on a one or two hour flight, that North American carriers on longer flights.

It almost feels like your better off getting into a box and flying Fed Ex.

*Almost*?

You'd get treated better, AND it would be cheaper. That's why it's illegal.

I wish I knew. I flew British Airways my last trip to Europe, and the customer service and amenities were much better(aside from losing my bags at Heathrow Terminal 5 on the way home. Something that's never happened to me in 30+ years on American carriers) than any U.S. carrier I've flown in the past few years.

DREAMTROVE

John, we're all on the terrorist watchlist. It's almost impossible not to get on it. I think it's 1% of the population, probably about the portion that actually follows what govt. does with anything more than blind partisanship.

It's important to note that 90% of the population never follows politics at all.
