Well, gee - I guess that settles it!

I take it you didn't actually READ the defund ACORN amendment, or even read ABOUT it. If you had, you'd notice why it got such broad-based bipartisan support: It was written so broadly that it applies to ALL contractors or any business OR INDIVIDUAL that does business with the U.S. government. Yup, that means we can now drop Halliburton/KBR, Blackwater/Xe, DynCorp, Wackenhut, Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, Northrup-Grumman, and a host of others from doing business with our government.

Of course, I also can't help but notice that not once have you EVER come out decrying any of their alleged crimes. Guess you approve of things like murder of American soldiers (16 of whom have died of electrocution due to faulty wiring installed by KBR), murder of Iraqi civilians (dozens of whom have been murdered by Blackwater/Xe), rape of children in forced-prostitution/pedophilia rings (DynCorp), and the like. Just so we're clear, I want to get you on record: You're outraged when one person at ACORN goes along with a FAKE prostitution ring, but you have no comment - or even avidly support it - when military contractors engage in FORCED, ACTUAL prostitution rings involving little girls. Good to know where your priorities lie. That puts you right in line with your Republican party-mates, who share your same "values".

Quote:

Acorn has had millions of US tax dollars stolen from it over the years by top Acorn officials.

Wasn't it Blackwater who seem to have misplaced some $12 billion in taxpayer money in Iraq? And aren't they the ones currently under investigation for stealing weapons from U.S. soldiers, and then selling them to the enemy, to be used against us? Odd that you keep defending them. I guess you'll defend ANYTHING, as long as it makes your Republican friends rich...

Quote:

And Niki2, or Rue/Signy, or whoever you are...why don't you take your head out of your ass and see what's going on with this Administration? Then you might not be so damn smug and condescending to FFF posters here.

So, AuRaptor/"Hero", or whatever the hell you are, why don't you pull your head out of Bush's ass, wipe Cheney's splooge off your chin, and see what's been going on for the last eight years? Then you might not be so smug and condescending, once you realize what your "conservative" idols have actually done to this country.

Oooh, big bad evil Acorn. They should have been doing defense contracting, then anything and everything they do would be okay.

Hey Kwikky,
I know your pea-brain has a very limited attention span, but if you try, try real hard, you may recall that I posted AGAINST Auraptor for days and days on the subject of coerced interrogation/torture a few months ago. My position was very clear, and you thanked me for it very graciously.

You may also recall that I posted my strong support for Obama's Olympic bid while many did not, and again you thanked me in a big way.

But now, you just can't stand to have anyone disagree with you on anything, and just like Obama's henchmen, you throw me under the bus again.

I know what I'm dealing with here with you and some others. I will not be silenced, and will not be intimidated by you or anyone else here. I will likely never again respond to you in any way. So I will continue to post, and you can kiss my hairy ass.

No, there's no pot/kettle thing here, none at all. I posted about Obama and his Admin....what I got back was Bush, Blackwater etc, things which have nothing to do with anything I posted, but obviously things you and yours will never never ever let go. Funny, 'cause I never saw a Blackwater office in every city like Acorn has, but again, I have never once said their name ever on these boards until right now. And I have never defended Bush or Cheney in any way either. You just assumed I have, but I never have. Niki/Story comes in on a post or two from yesterday on other threads and mock me with sarcasm & personal nastiness only worthy of you and Rue. I almost expect/don't mind it from you two, but from "strangers" it irks me. As Chris would say, it tasks me. You also do nothing except launch personal attacks and insults at those you disagree with, whereas I just post about my opinions of things, never attack anyone here by name unless they strike me first.

Oh, lord, I get such giggles here. It’s almost impossible NOT to be condescending (tho’ I’m not, in dealing with sensible people) when you spout unmitigated nonsense. I’m sorry it upsets you, but yes, America HAS woken up, which is why we have Obama and why only 20% of the country calls itself “Republican”. It’s a waste to try to debate with you and those of your ilk…there are good debates here, reasoned, thoughtful ones, but impossible with the wingnuts, so amusement and derision is the only other option. Besides, I’m not smug; you guys and your alternate universe are destroying what slivers of bipartisanship and what little remains of our two-party system. I know it will pass, but I’m tired of you and your ranting, all of you. Put forth some reasoned arguments, otherwise, you’re only worth laughing at. By the way, are you suggesting I’m a sock puppet of Rue or Signy? That’s only worth a smile, but it IS mildly amusing…

Nice irony.

I DO have to agree with Sig, however, in a very well-put statement (does that make me a sock puppet?)
Quote:

AFA whether or not the anti-Obama feeling is caused by racism, clearly racism is a part of it- as Kwicko's pix show. The only points we should be discussing are "How much?" and "So what?". I think some of the anti-Obama rhetoric is also being precipiated by Republican right-wing. That part of the party is SO anti-Dem and so flagrantly delusional that it wouldn't matter WHO was in office or WHAT they were doing... the right-wingers would be screeching their heads off about anything and everything, whether it makes sense or not (like Obama's birth certificate and religion) or whether Bush had done it ten times worse. If Hillary had been elected, I'm certain we would be seeing a number of anti-women T-shirts, and we would be discussing the role of sexism. In reality, it's due to a group of people who will stop at nothing to tear down a Democratic President.

In total, the reason why there were so few threats against GWB is simply because the left wing is reasonable and respects the Presidency more than the right wing, who are delusional and hate-filled and prone to violence.

Well said, except I would have said “SOME” right wing, and have added that SOME Dems show what seems like respect but which is actually ballslessness.

Excellent, Mike:

I don’t see any effort to intimidate you by anyone, nor any demands that you be silent. Looks to me like you’re getting as good as you’re giving, and you’re free to…if you post idiocy, however, I think it’ll always be called what it is. Given the vehemence and nastiness of your posts (which is not to say I don’t see nastiness coming back atcha, but little vehemence), it looks like people who disagree really piss you off. Oh, my goodness, given “you dismiss, demean, marginalize everything & everyone you don't like”, might that mean that “you just can't deal with it”?

FREMDFIRMA

Umm, Wulf ?

You DO know RCP is a false front propaganda arm of the GOP initially founded using the contact info of a guy who had been dead for several years in order to obfuscate their origins, and then proceeded to bribe their way into becoming an editorial contributor with funding from the GOP coffers structured to avoid IRS disclosure...

Or, likely, you didn't - but the name itself gives it away since it's parsed in the same-old Fox/GOP doublespeak.

They're as abysmally credible as Jeffie Gannons Talon News Service.

As for Walmart dumping the thief chaser, that's a matter of policy and liability - they took great risks over a relatively minor offense which could have resulted in huge liability and injury claims against the store in our litigious legal system, over a mere product of less than $100 in value.

That time chasing would have been better spent on the phone to police (useless that they often are) with a full description of the suspect (recorded for posterity and eventual prosecution), followed by review of any video and posting his ugly mug in the employee breakroom with a notice that he was no longer welcome in the store and to call police if sighted nearby.

As a security specialist, this is kinda my biz, you see - there's a certain level of risk/effect assessment involved in these kind of things, and that was a bad call, motivated by a kind heart.

They MEANT well, but did the wrong thing - something you have a lot of experience with yourself, ehe ?

Those goons I shut down tryin to rob one of the units here - I didn't chase em, hell, I even looked one of em right in the eye (and he PAID for that later) and stepped aside, despite that he was carryin someone else's TV.

I wanted the TV back, you see, and if I tackled him, he'd have dropped it - even if we did not catch em, I coulda got it back via my contacts with everywhere around here they might try to pawn it.

Didn't chase em neither, not only cause I can't run, cause I was busy writing down plate number and descriptions while on the horn to 911 dispatch giving vector, bearing and descriptions to the local PD - who DID manage to catch them cause there's only two ways out of this area by vehicle, and both are far off enough that hitting this place is downright STUPID.

We had em in custody and the stuff *on the way* back before the resident even got home from work, let the damn cops do the dirty job of running them down and securing them, that's what they pay em for and imma too damn old and lazy to do it.

Owner of the car couldn't weasel out in court cause of the plate number.
The other loader couldn't weasel out cause he had the residents class ring in his pocket when taken into custody.
And the last, who thought he MIGHT get off in the clear - well, he let me get a right good look at his face, did he not ?

They're in slam even now, having plead to it and been tossed where they belong, WITHOUT me chasin nor layin hand to em.

Woulda been easy as that had not the residents cat gotten out - spent the next two shifts tracking the little munger and couldn't get down there to collect her, so we lured her back out when it stopped rainin with a bowl of grub and her favorite toys on the porch.

I won't engage unless there's obvious, imminent danger to people - in the case in your article there was no such thing, the perp only deployed a weapon once they DID engage, and it was a bloody near thing no one got hurt - and over what, a pack of golf balls ?

I will say that with proper training though, Rutner has potential, a yard of guts and a good heart, and training can cover the rest - since Walmart won't re-hire, I've made that suggestion to local security companies in the area cause sixty five is not at all too old for a night watchman, and yanno - it pays better, too.

So much as I otherwise hate em, I cannot ascribe blame to Walmart there, it was posted policy and for fair enough reasons, and Rutner did knowingly violate it.

You got the same issues, Wulfie, you gotta good heart, you WANT to fix things, make things right, or better - but you go off too easy in all the wrong directions with it.

I think you ought to find yourself a very patient hunter, and learn some things from them, about patience, restraint, when to and not to take the shot - stuff which will serve you very well in other aspects of your life.

Plus, hey, food!

Just do me the favor of respecting the cycle by not wasting the lives you take.

Imma sum up what Wulf is TRYING to mean, when he says these things, with the addendum that yes, I too believe he needs to get specific if he wants to actually accomplish anything, but I DO know the "good fight" of what he means when he says it, even if he can't find the words.

"Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit"
-Philip Pullman, from The Subtle Knife.

When you come right down to the root, the very core of it, that's what it is.

Exactly. And Jongsie? You, like JSF, *SAY* you don't "attack anyone here by name", but you instead do it in a wholly pussified, cowardly, and passive-aggressive fashion, by instead insulting people by their associations: "all you lefty looneys", "all liberals", etc.

Tell me, is it offensive to you if I say that all conservatives are pedophiles who should be shot in the street like the rabid dogs they are? And if so, why does that offend you? I didn't say it about you BY NAME, so you can't get your wittle feewings hurt about that, right?

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

"... but I DO know the "good fight" of what he means when he says it ..."

Except it only became a good fight for him when it involved a black president - and everything this black president is trying to do. In fact, I see Wulf supports nothing on this black president's agenda. Surely this black president has at least one or two ideas Wulf might possibly find acceptable - except he doesn't find any of them to be good, without exception. And all of them to be bad.

It puts his motives in question.

So, Wulf,

Since you never did come up with a reason WHY a black president should be receiving 30 death threats a day instead of the 7 an abysmal white president got just months before; and you never did answer WHY you thought racism is no big deal; or WHY you thought a man was arrested 'just because' he 'disagreed' with Obama --- do you care to revisit your claims ?

Thing is, Frem, I actually think THEY think they're doing GOOD. That's the part that scares the piss outta me! They think they're making the world a better place, and they honestly don't care if they have to kill every living thing on the planet to accomplish that goal.

CNN dumped this story from its front page PDQ yesterday.... but I found this one which reads,

"Gun-loving John Brek, 55, of Linden, N.J., was taken into custody after his co-workers reported a conversation they had at an airport coffee cart to authorities.."

"Brek is a Republican and a member of the National Rifle Association, his father told the Newark Star-Ledger."

So, accordingly, being a Republican, gun owner, and bitching about the President is a crime?

Now. I may not be the best person to voice this opinion, as some of my previous rants have skirted the edge of racism... but I do see stuff like this all the time....

Where headlines are flashed, then pulled down and rewritten, in order to make a "spot memory" that will last well beyond any recants. (Any psychologists here? I think I have the terminology wrong.)

Its a propaganda technique when communicating with the populace, and/or large groups of people.

(Btw, its one of the reasons I am so hard on folks here who rewrite their stuff AFTER they already post it. Also, why I would never do that.)

I KNOW, I just KNOW, you have not forgotten you are trying to converse with The Party of Intolerance, errr liberals, right? They require exercise tolerance for thee (reasonable people accept their irrationality), not for me (deranged liberals should not tolerate rational behavior).

It should be offensive to your fellow liberals when you expose your radical delusions for all to see clearly.
Criminals are by far and away liberals, voting for liberals an average of 89% nationwide. It would take an incredibly dense or delusioned unit like you to transfer liberal tendancies you perpetually attempt to deny onto the opposition.

Damn straight! Perfect description of their hopelesssly indefensible positions! I wish I could be as terse as you; but when their new Liberal limp-wristed, over-bitten lisping Olbermann-scripted, Perez Hilton-in-training Fla. Congesssman calls all Republicans "knuckle-dragging neanderthals" in the Capitol and turns into a liberal hero, then there is no longer any room for civililty anywhere. And he refuses to apologize. It will be different going forward from here. I have pre-set my controls for "personal" attack-mode only.

Nice job, Jongsie. You win the Dipshit of the Year prize.
