Thanks for fixing the title.

I predict they'll TRY to sue the cop - actually, they'll go after the department and the city, of course, since that's where the REAL money is. Cop's career is over, but I'd honestly be surprised if he's charged with anything more than manslaughter, and he MIGHT do maybe two years in lockup.

Any takers on that bet?

It's not that the cops will rig the case; it's that the prosecutors - who are SUPPOSED to be looking out for "the people" - will soft-pedal the damn case all the way, and go for the lowest possible punishment they can get without outraging the community TOO much. Seen it happen way too many times. In the minds of most communities, the cops can do no wrong. And you damn near have to catch them on camera murdering someone in cold blood and then bragging about it on a wire to get any REAL action against 'em.

Conviction for manslaughter is iffy, thanks to rigged juries.

We had a local city cop intentionally ram and kill a "speeding" motorcyclist, without bothering to make a traffic stop. Just rammed him without notice as he passed. Turned out he was a cop riding to work at the jail. Happened in front of a state trooper who failed to make an immediate arrest. Jury found him not guilty, despite the in-car video. But city PD was shut down, permanently.

I think he will remain on paid leave and internal affairs will find that he acted inappropriately and slap him on the wrist, with no charges, barring some sort of riot which will make the city have to save face by letting the cops head roll.

Meanwhile I like how the MSM refers to the victim as a man before telling you he was 16.
