Oh yeah, the oligarchic banks and insurance companies are really cracking, aren't they??? Wulf, you're SOOO bent on sticking it to "poor blacks" that you cant' see the REAL problem is way, way over our heads. I'm with Jongsstraw: grow up.

Frem, you're right. That Wulf is a backbirth is well known to all.

Wulf, we KNOW what you're saying, better than you do. You're cutting off your nose to spite your face. Shooting yourself in the foot. Off-target with your venom. Any number of appropriately violence-themed phrases. You're reactive, ignorant, prejudiced, violent person. Good luck with your life and all that, seeing as you can't even figure out your best interests.

"You're reactive, ignorant, prejudiced, violent person."

Reactive: Yes

Ignorant: No. (I know more about life than you do.)

Prejudiced: Prejudgemental based on past experiences... hell yeah.

Violent: Oh you better believe it.

Could you expand upon that a bit? I'm not completely sure of your "affiliation" but I kinda think you're generally a liberal-leaning independent.(apologies if that's wrong)....but I would be very interested in the "I love" & "what they did" parts. Thanks.

I have no affiliation. I find your recent posts most sensible on this subject, but I also find myself generally agreeing with the Dems on this sight as well. Liberal? Do I trust a gov run health care? No way! I agree with Kwicko - trust no one!

I have a small business and pay employee health care so I deal directly with Big Insurance - what an absolute ream job. The agents practically laugh about it, "Yeah, it's crazy isn't it?! Wanna ya gonna do... {subtext][unsubtle] You're screwed Jacko! Just write the f*cking check!"[/]

What they did? Health Care - Mandatory? No Public option? - didn't even listen to us. "Us" being the people that put them in office and just the general citizenry. It can be said of that about both sides, as if we were disturbing them while they talk amongst themselves. Flush the lot of them, this Dem is a good start, and keep flushing. keepflushing.com

Obama - come on dude, time to bring it. He had a prime opportunity to be a Leader with Health Care and it's as if he just delegated and deferred everything and stepped back into the shadows. I know he's capable of a lot more.

Actually that was a capsule version of a Hannibal LECTURE, and aimed right at you.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HannibalLecture

And you chowed down, hook, line and sinker.

Your own intolerance, ignorance, and blind rage makes you so terribly easy to manipulate that you effectively have no will of your own, all you can do is spout off without thinking, or regurgitate the words of others that make you feel better without regard to their content or purpose, or examining the motives behind them, the very definition of useful idiot.

And the fact that you chose that path when better options presented themselves, makes you a waste of my time, I just wanted to pull you up short with your own bloody stupidity as an example to you before I throw you back in like a fish too small to keep, and get back to ignoring you like usual.

Just curious... why does everyone here think the vote went the way it did ?

I have read healthcare was a big part of it, was the vote

1. A rejection of the idea of healthcare reform

2. A rejection of the current scheme.. ie no public option

I am sure the democrat candidates lack of campaigning and reported arrogance helped blow here chances, but I am wondering if there isn't some more subtle " policy " type message that the voters are trying to send here...

1. Not enough change, as Obama's campaign promised

2. Too much change as the right complains about

or perhaps some of both

Gino, I think the problem is "both". To give you Lieberman as an example, he screwed around with reform until the progressives hated him, and then when he voted for it the conservatives hated him, so he went up in flames on both sides. The polls are clear: Americans are extremely polarized on this issue. There isn’t much middle ground. The results are typically 55/50 in favor of a simple, beneficial healthcare reform.

I wrote to my Congresswomen a few months ago (and b4 and since, but that’s another story) and what I wrote was extremely predictive: Help Americans NOW, and you will be in Washington for the foreseeable future. But fumble this historic opportunity, and you will lose seats in 2010 and the opportunity will pass you by. And what did the part leadership do? They screwed around. Also, as was already pointed out, Mass HAS universal healthcare; this would have been a step down for them!

Americans are fucking pissed. It’s taken them a long time to realize they’ve been axed, bled, gutted and served up on a platter to TPTB, but now they’ve figured it out, they need change NOW. Don’t get that for them, and you’re out of office right quick, even if the alternative is worse.

"Just curious... why does everyone here think the vote went the way it did ?"

Because of turnout. A very small potion of voters (~ 24%) outnumbered a slightly smaller portion of voters (~23%) in an election that was mostly about apathy. While it was considered a high turnout for a special election - having had one recently in CA, I can observe from experience that complacent people, who would generally be the ones opting for the status quo, tend to not show up. It's usually the people with a particular ax to grind that make the effort.

Perhaps without faith in any third party candidates, the electorate is all about the protest vote now...

If you are not happy, strike down the incumbent,

switch from republican to democrat and back again until you get something that is responsive to the voters and not the party line.
