I on the other hand wish him a long and pain filled life,

If it can't be in a six by six cell

then paralyzed, unable to speak, staring at the ceiling with cold drool running out of its mouth might be fitting.

Perhaps W. will be busted driving while coked up, and could be sentenced to community service changing its diapers and giving it sponge baths...

Did you know that while some near-death-experience people report light and peace, many report pain and evil ? I wonder which Cheney will have ?

"I classify NDEs according to the general category as: positive or negative. It is my opinion, that people who are primarily motivated by positive influences (such as love, joy, and peace) generally have positive NDEs. People who are primarily motivated by negative influences (such as hatred, anger, and fear) generally have negative NDEs. There are a many exceptions to this, but I am confident that such a categorization is sufficient.

Positive NDEs have similar aspects. A typical example involves an out-of-body (OBE) experience followed by traveling through a tunnel toward a very bright light. At the end of the tunnel, deceased loved ones or "Beings of Light" often appear. Sometimes, one particular "Being of Light" is identified either as God, Jesus or other religious figures, an angel, or even their own "Higher Self." This being induces them into a life review in which their entire life can be instantaneously observed. Afterwards, the experiencer reaches a boundary of some kind which they cannot cross. Here, they may be given a choice of returning to physical existence or progressing into the afterlife. They are often told, "It is not yet your time to die" or, "Your mission is not yet completed."

Negative experiences also have features that are similar. These kinds of experiences often involve people finding themselves in some hellish condition, sometimes corresponding to an object of interest such as a physical addiction, a sexual obsession, a person still living, or some negative influence. Negative experiences are often rescued by a higher spiritual Being of Light, sometimes by a loved one or sometimes by a religious figure. Once rescued, they are shown their entire life in review. They are then given the same choice as those who have positive experiences: to either stay or return. Many negative experiences often end up transforming into positive ones, which strongly suggests these negative states of consciousness are temporary and not permanent."

Cheney Returns To Camp Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE, NJ—Reports of a shadowy figure in the woods and heavy breathing heard in the night, coupled with a recent series of grisly murders, have generated rumors that U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney has returned to terrorize the counselors at Camp Crystal Lake, sources reported Friday.

"I knew it'd been too quiet around here," camp caretaker Ephram Magritte, 67, said between sips from his flask. "Things were just starting to get back to normal. Then that carload of kids had to go have a drinking party at the lake last Friday. When two of them went missing, people started up again, saying Cheney was back. We don't need that kind of talk. Stirs up trouble. Scares off customers."

Four hours later, Magritte was found hanging from a tree, his brass-handled cane protruding from his eye socket.

Although some locals say the deaths prove that Cheney has returned to Camp Crystal Lake, most residents remain skeptical.

"Dick Cheney? No, sir, Dick Cheney is dead," general-store owner Doug Leffert said as he packed groceries into a box. "Last person to see Cheney alive was Tommy Williams, the feller that killed him. Yeah, blew him up. Knocked him down with a propane tank and shot it. Heck of an explosion. Burned down the mess hall, too. All anyone found left of Cheney was his eyeglasses."

"Tommy was never the same after," Leffert added. "Been in an insane asylum up around Newton ever since."

According to camp counselor Jenny Marlatt, not every Crystal Lake murder was committed by Cheney.

"We all thought Cheney had returned last year," Marlatt said before pausing to inhale marijuana smoke from a soda-can pipe. "A bunch of people wound up getting murdered. But the killer turned out to be the brother of one of Cheney's victims. He put on some Cheney glasses and started killing people he thought should've kept a better eye on his brother."

More recently, Cheney's mother slaughtered nine people under the guise of her son before she was finally slain.

"Nah, Cheney hasn't been around for years," Marlatt said. "He's just a story mothers tell their children to get them to clean their plates."

Hours after Marlatt spoke to the press, her body was discovered hanging from the rafters in the camp's auditorium, her soda-can pipe jammed into her mouth.

Camp cook Henry Jones said that, while most of Cheney's homicides took place at Camp Crystal Lake and its immediate vicinity, the maniac has, on occasion, left the bucolic setting to stalk teens and police officers from other cities and towns.

"Remember when Cheney went to New York City?" Jones said Saturday. "They say he stowed away on a cruise ship of teenagers taking a graduation-night voyage around Manhattan Island. He killed almost everyone on board, then went ashore. Yes, sir, Cheney is back, all right—only this time, I know exactly how to stop him."

Enlarge Image Cheney Returns To Camp Crystal Lake jump 2

Cheney's glasses, as found in the woods near Camp Crystal Lake.

Those were among Jones' last words, as he was decapitated Sunday. His girlfriend, Jessica Clark, reported that a shadowy figure beheaded him with a machete while the couple kissed behind the camp's kitchen, shortly after she had removed her shirt.

Although nearly 100 Camp Crystal Lake staff members and visitors have been murdered in the last 25 years, experts report that the town is ill-prepared for the return of Cheney.

"Cheney is an unstoppable killing machine," CNN's Anderson Cooper said via telephone. "He has been burned, stabbed, slashed, hacked, bludgeoned, and shot, only to get back up and continue his rampage. But when the town's self-absorbed teens try to explain that something is wrong, very wrong, their calls for help fall on deaf ears. There needs to be some accountability on the part of—oh, God! He's here!"

Cooper, who then dropped the telephone, has not been heard from since.

As they continue to investigate the recent murders, police have urged locals to stay in their heavily windowed cabins, ignore strange scratching noises, and abstain from any immoral acts that might inflame the passions of a psychopath.

"If you see Cheney, do not try to stop him yourself," police officer Brian Doan said. "He is extremely adept at cutting, stabbing, slicing, or skewering victims using whatever implement he comes across. And, whatever you do, keep all machetes well out of reach, way up on really high shelves. The last thing you want to do is tangle with Cheney when he's armed with one of those things."

Doan was found vivisected the next day.

When asked about Cheney's whereabouts, White House press secretary Scott McClellan vehemently denied speculation that Cheney was responsible for the recent slayings, stating that Cheney has been far too busy with the Bush re-election campaign to visit Camp Crystal Lake in recent weeks. He also denied rumors that Cheney has turned on Donald Rumsfeld after assisting him with a string of murders on Elm Street, and he strenuously insisted that the two high-ranking government officials will not fight to the death.

Ok, at this point Cheney is just rubbing it in.

The Zombie has a heart attack about as often as another person would get the hiccups, and they don't seem to affect him much worse.

Meanwhile, Andy Hallet's and Britney Murphy's hearts simply stop.

He probably has heart attacks just to goad the "liburulz" into saying insensitive things in public. And hey, it's working.

Every time Cheney has a "heart attack", his handlers at Haliburton simply have to raise him again.

Hopefully, this will shut him up for about a week before he starts making more televised speeches bitching about Obama's anti-torture stance, or whatever.

But ANYway, it's not true that Cheney is heartless. B/c, as you see, he's got lots of heart ! AND - he's young at heart, too !

Its part of their ideological makeup.

They don't see it as being mean because to them Cheney is not a real person deserving of compassion. He is the hated opposition, less then human and therefore anything is acceptable.

I reserve my real hatred for the likes of Bin Ladden and much as I hate Bin Ladden and would like to see him suffer, were his fate in my hands I would give him the reasonable care and good treatment required of us by both the Constitution and our basic humanity.

I suspect were Cheney in the hands of the people of this board...he would not be as well taken care of because in the crazytalker mindset, basic humanity does not apply and the Constitution is for people they agree with or like.

That said making a little fun of someone is natural and normal...its the genuine feelings of hate and wishes for misfortune that are inappropriate.

Many celebrated the murder of Saddam, many more would celebrate the murder of Bin Laden (I don't know who "Bin Ladden" is; maybe you could enlighten us). Are they not husbands, brothers, sons, and fathers as well?

Okay, I'm catching on. I'm starting to save stuff, beginning with "Ro"s last comment; be forewarned Ro (I refuse to call you "Hero", you are too far from one), it's in the 'file' so the next time you contradict yourself...

Neither I nor anyone else here (with a couple of possible exceptions) would probably do the man any actual harm, you know that, you're just taking advantage of the moment to slur others.

As to Cheney, it's human to let one's frustrations out, when one has felt helpless to change the situation. In this case, something has done it for us, and tho' I'm sure he hasn't suffered much (darn it!), it's natural to take some satisfaction in, if nothing else, him being shut up for a little while.

Chris, I agree to a point, but I see nothing wrong in letting us voice our feelings about someone who has been truly evil and has harmed so many deliberately and for no reason. I certainly wouldn't do the same for Dumbya, I think he's just misguided and maybe dumb, but this man is deliberately "bad". I don't know what made him this way, or Bin Laden or any mass murderer, and if I were physically responsible, I too would do the right thing by him. Nonetheless, whether my karma comes back to bite me in the butt or not, I don't feel too bad about voicing my feelings.

Frem, you're absolutely right: It's not possible to have an "attack" on something you don't have in the first place.

I agree. Scary. Sad. On the other hand, in many respects I DON'T see a difference. Something made them what they are, and given different circumstances, influences and experiences, they'd be different people. If we could only see past their words and actions...

It's saddens me that people can't see there's a reason why people are the way they are...I don't hold that there are REALLY any "evil" people, not even mass murderers; we're all a product of our biology, childhood and other influences, etc. Yes, there are people whose mental wiring is such that it goes beyond that and people have to be protected from them, but to be unable to see the humanity in all is a detriment. It narrows our world, and makes the "us v. them" mentality and de-humanizing of others all too easy.

I don't like Cheney. In fact, I think he has done horrible things, things for his own selfish gain and he has deluded himself into thinking it's for the good of America as a whole. I would like to see justice visited upon him.

Not waterboarding, because two wrongs don't make a right. I have trouble with the ethics of imprisonment or capital punishment for the same reason. But I have such bias against him that I would not trust myself to carry out punishment.

If I wanted to be perfectly and completely fair considering how angry I get with Cheney and what I'd LIKE to do sometimes, Exile is more than good enough. Stick him on a boat, water tight and reasonably comfortable, with electricity, AC and/or heating, with a bed and toiletries. Give him a fishing pole and bait box. Give him a gun for any situations that might come up, or if his existence becomes too miserable. And tell him to get the hell off our land. Tell him if he ever sets foot on soil, ANY soil, of ANY nation, that he will be shot with no discrimination on sight.

This is how much I am DONE with Dick Cheney.

That said, a heart attack isn't justice. A heart attack is something very close to human mortality and the end of life, something we all must face, and something we all must feel some empathy for. So I did not, and WILL NOT join in all the jokes here.

Chris: Yes, that too. But in individual dealings, if we could just always see the humanity FIRST, our opinions and how we act would be improved, I believe.

Byte: Fair enough. Everyone has to decide for themselves. Given the jokes are harmless, I don't mind engaging. Otherwise, you're right.

I don't see exile as working. The world is too complex and he's still got friends (weird as that seems!); someone would help him...besides, the cost of watching him to make sure he never came ashore isn't worth it.

Me, I'm for imprisonment, somewhere he can do no more harm--maybe Gitmo? I have a certain amount of pity for the man; I am convinced he BELIEVES the things he says and does, but as we know, people with power who think only they know what is right for others are the most dangerous of all! Somehow I have no doubt he will still have influence, if not on this administration, on some future one, and THAT scares the hell out of me!

Beyond that, I would just like UNCHANGEABLE history to record him as he is, for what he's done and what he's said. That would be punishment enough, sorta; he may not care what the populace thinks of him, but I think he'd not like seeing everything out there, disproven and judged, for all history.

True, however warped he might be, he is still a human being (wow that was harder to type than I'd imagined...).

He may be a human being, but as I've pointed out before, Hitler was a human being, too. So was Saddam. So was Pol Pot. Tim McVeigh was absolutely human, and served his military with more distinction than did Cheney.

That said, I wouldn't shed a single tear for ANY of them. I don't suddenly forgive and forget someone's evil deeds the day they get sick or die.

Yeah, Chris, I had a hard time writing that too! It's really hard with some to remember their humanity, but I think it's vital that we do so.

No, Mike, it's not about forgiving and forgetting at all. What they DO can be evil as hell, it's just about remembering they're human, too, and subject to all the kinds of things that made US who we are, too.

Doesn't mean DO anything, doesn't mean forgiving the horrible things they do, just means keeping in mind that they're human. If we could just all remember that, it would make a major change in humanity...we would still fight against them, but we wouldn't be as quick to de-humanize them. At least that's what I believe.

Everyone in US Custody has a measure of Constitutional rights. Some rights are expressly reserved to citizens, others are expressly reserved to persons.

One, I do not support torture of anyone.

Two, I do not define torture as broadly as you do.

Three, the Constitution allows a person to be deprived of their life, liberty, and property so long as they are given Due Process of Law. I read this to mean that should a person get a hearing before a neutral magistrate and the law is followed, then anything (within said law and subject to the magistrate's restraint) goes.

Four, the Supreme Court has said that the Constitution is not a suicide pact and I agree. While I do not support torture, I would allow it under specific exigent circumstances (ie a bomb is going to explode killing x number of people and Jack has to hurt somebody to stop it...I'm ok with that).

Its hardly cheerleading...its tragic at best.

Actually, my feelings on it are pretty close to yours, Miss Byte - problem is, I know just how stupid *not finishing the job* is, having seen it politically bite us on the ass again and again.

Quick, Clean, Dispassionate.

Every instant one spends screwing around is one more chance for the opportunity to be wasted, and emotional investment in revenge for the sake of itself is the very pointless madness that feeds the cycle.

If someone has reached the point where they have warped, twisted or destroyed their own humanity to the point where they are that much of a threat to their fellow man, and it comes to such an impasse...

The only thing you should feel, is recoil.

Ooops, apologies Byte; I never know who's female or male here until someone indicates it.

What I have found most interesting is that there appear to be more men here than women! That's not been true of any website I've ever been on, and it intrigues me. To no particular purpose...

Frem, Niki: Well, that suggestion was mostly for the scenario that every last one of Cheney and his friends have ALREADY fallen from grace, and assuming the entire rest of the population is out for their heads. Then maybe we could afford to show them the humanity they refused to show so many other people, and keep the moral high ground.
