Hell, that was by comparison, rather kind of em to give em THAT much - under almost every maritime code and law I know of, you can shoot pirates out of hand whether they've surrendered or not.

That's why I had such a total hissy about the Ady Gil running the Jolly Roger up the mast, as you might recall.

Damn Somalis are idiots about this anyway, if they stayed in their own waters and held up the pretense of such robbery being unpaid customs duties they might just get away with more of that shit, cause the only difference between a pirate and a customs inspector is perceived legitimacy anyway.

So credit where it's due, at least the Russkies gave em a sporting chance, yanno ?

I don't know about Auraptor, but I'm wishing that the international community would get off its collective butt and come up with some mechanism to try these guys, instead of either playing catch-and-release with them or executing them without trial.

The Russians can get away with this sort of stuff because everyone knows they do it and don't care. If the U.S. did the same, there would be international protests. We need a legal way of getting these guys tried and convicted.
