To put it bluntly: "Why is FauxNews the hightest rated news show, despit it having been proven over and over that they maniuplate the news, lie, commit fraud and make incredible statements that have no basis in fact?" Someone on the other "question" thread created a more dramatic question about one FoxNoise commentator, but the adjectives were somewhat subjective, while the descriptions I have used have been proven and are more generalized.

Okay, that's the other side of Crappy's question, but different. It IS a proven fact, over and over, that ClusterFox doesn't present pure "news", and it's not a matter of bias or omission, it's bald-faced lying and fraud. They've been caught so many times I don't know how that can be a debatable point.

In that way it's diffferent from the previous question, I believe. So for those of us who accept the premise, what is the mentality in so many Americans that they watch it, and obviously from what we've seen, believe what they hear without question and even ACT on it?

Given it's the highest rated, there must be a huge portion of the population that thinks like they do and wants their beliefs confirmed. If that represents such a huge portion of the population, why do we not have a consistently Republican government?

Caveat: I do not watch FoxNoise. I see clips of what they present in many other places, from other news shows to political shows to books, articles, interviews and one documentary. So my position comes from those observtions, which have nonetheless come in snippets FROM FauxNews' own broadcasts. That aside, question, from all I've seen, is valid.

Well, if you're talking about me and my description of Rush Limbaugh, I *DID* use some colorful descriptions, but in truth, he's NOT in the employ of FauxSnooze. He just does such a lockstep with them on the talking points that it FEELS like he's on their payroll.

He used to have some kind of TV show on some station, but I think it failed due to abysmal ratings, if memory serves. Now he's just on hate radio. Ummmm, I mean "talk" radio.

Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

There was a Howard Stern film some years ago, and it had something poignant to say about our media.

A lot of people liked his radio show and tuned in.

#1 reason: To see what he was going to say next.

A lot of people disliked his radio show and tuned in anyway.

#1 reason: To see what he was going to say next.

I think if a show is entertaining, people will watch it even if they don't like the content.

I think the Jerry Springer show was like that, too.
