It usually doesn't matter what any politician ever says. In the long run, all seems to always either be forgotten by the voters or forgiven by the voters. The late Dem. Congressman John Murtha called his own district's residents rednecks and racists during his last campaign. He still won that election by a huge margin. So unless there's a whole lot of very proud rednecks and racists in western Pa., one can say that nothing they say ultimately matters. Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, Boehner, McConnell, Graham, and the rest of the sad collection of reality-show rejects in Congress are all guilty of frequent partisan viciousness, and reckless idiotic behavior. If you put together a video reel of any politician's past statements and speeches, most normal and sane people would just shake their heads in disbelief and embarrassment of what they'd be hearing.
