No More ‘Psy Ops’ for Army

Fort Bragg, N.C. (AP) - Army psychological operations will no longer go by that name after the Defense Department adopted a new moniker for the term that dates back at least to the Vietnam War.

The Army branch is being renamed "Military Information Support Operations," or MISO.

U.S. Special Operations Command spokesman Ken McGraw says the name better reflects the mission of influencing enemy soldiers and civilians with things like air-dropped leaflets and radio broadcasts.

Fort Bragg, N.C., is home to the 4th Psychological Operations Group, the Army's only active duty psychological operations unit. Psychological operations soldiers are trained at the post.

Many in the psychological operations community dislike the new name. They say it makes it harder to explain what they do, then they heads explode.

The horrible part is that I watch enough Anime to get both ends of that joke, DT.

Besides, it's not like the four-poggies are gonna stop that shit any more than the alphabet agencies did after telling Frank Church, we're-so-sorry-we'll-never-do-it-again....

Uh huh, meanwhile they didn't even fuckin pause, which I coulda really fucked em up over had not the Patriot Act illegally and retroactively legalized it, technically, kinda-sorta, even tho it's ex post facto and in direct contravention of several amendments, but since when do the rules apply to TPTB, neh ?

It's all moot anyways, really - it the Poggies weren't so bloody fuckin incompetent there never woulda been any need for the black baggers and wrecking crews outta meade to discredit or assassinate anyone who didn't toe the line Pysops was spouting, would there ?

Hell, they can't even sell these wars to americans, you can imagine how bad the are at bridging a gap of language and culture they don't even comprehend, especially when their institutional racism, as well as cultural and religious intolerance, has run off anyone who might.

So to me this is all sound and fury, signifying nothing - the guy who never once successfully mowed your lawn, is gonna quit mowing your lawn, ho-hum, did-a-chum, did-a-chee, what's it mean to me ?

Of course, not that, yanno, they'll cut em out and quit PAYING them, no, that'd be too much to fuckin ask, wouldn't it now ?

Yanno, like the Detroit Gang Squad, and what they're calling the "Liberty Massacre" as they lose FORTY personnel, most of their budget, and just about all of their equpiment and privledges - now they're seriously, seriously PISSED, and takin up a collection in the locker rooms to be offered to the badge who manages to find cause and do me injury...
