Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

Let's hope it's just noise and posturing.

Failing that...

Let's hope their missile tech isn't up to snuff.

Keep the Shiny side up

I've heard discussion on "All Things Considered" that the saber-rattling may have something to do with bringing Kim Jong-il's son Kim Jong-un into the picture as a military hero, to start getting the people ready for his succession to leadership.

I would anticipate their "nuclear deterrence" to take the form of another underground "fizzle" test or some such, not a nuclear launch aimed at a U.S. fleet.

In other words, their saber-rattling isn't drastically different from our saber-rattling. Well, except for the fact that they haven't staged their war games just a few miles off our coast...

Point being, why do we call them "crazy" for doing the exact same kind of idiot shit that WE do on a regular basis? Is there anyone here who thinks staging war games off the coast of North Korea *ISN'T* designed as intimidation and provocation on our part?

No. But they did torpedo a South Korean frigate in South Korean waters.

Well, SOMEONE did. I'm surprised it hasn't been blamed on Iran yet. Or North Vietnam (see "Gulf of Tonkin Incident")...

Well, we know Obama couldn't have done it, because he was busy planting explosives on the Deepwater Horizon at the time...

NIKI2

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Have we had instances of North Korea acting stupid before? Has South Korea attacked North Korea most often or threatened to, or vice versa? I can't find anything that says S. Korea has been the aggressor much...

I think it's all the usual bullshit N. Korea spouts; the idea of making Kim Jong Ill Jr. look like a "tough guy" might well have something to it. “"The more desperately the U.S. imperialists brandish their nukes and the more zealously their lackeys follow them”; gee, where have I heard stuff like that...well, recently anyway? The rhetoric is typical North Korea; we’ve been here before; and having nuclear capability doesn’t mean you can attack long range or hit a target. Anyone for betting N. Korea can hit the broad side of a barn door? But then what do I know...

DREAMTROVE

Well, this will get interesting.

I think that NK attack on the SK ship was during the obama years. The US, clearly, will do nothing, just like it did for Taiwan.

The thing is that while they are all busy with their heads up the asses of israel and britain, the US govt has forgotten about our more meaningful allies.

The globalists want one big asian block called China, and are willing to sacrifice the lions share of our allies to get it.

It's the Domino Theory out of control. Remember that bogus thing? Well, now I think the commies have taken out about a dozen countries, maybe more. We suck, they need better allies.

He couldn't have planted explosives on deepwater horizon....We all know he won't go near the gulf. I think he ,like most blacks, is afraid of water and can't swim....I'm surprised he has a dog.

considering the time difference, i would say he was most likely asleep. and where was bush when the towers were hit?

it seems to me that the US is incapable right now of: picking a capable leader and basically getting its shit together.

And yet the war might just not even be real at all. A dissident book central to ‘1984’ suggests the two other powers may actually be a fabrication of the government Oceania, which already controls all the other territories under a secret global government.
