Well, given the link you provided leads to a site which is obsessed with legalizing pot (check out their "politics" link) and the link posted in the article ITSELF leads to another such site, I'm skeptical about this. Would be nice if it were true, but given that smoking dope can CAUSE cancer (only less so than cigarettes because one doesn't smoke as much), I'm not convinced.

Too often your sources give you away, PN, given we know you post "out there" stuff.

Oh there's some research which maybe leans in that direction, but you'd need Siggys help to make any sense of it, not to mention it's buried in so much BS cause neither side of this one is any kind of honest about it, although the stoners at least have the excuse of being blizted.

Funny people, and damn but I live in a strange place - there's some kinda cannabis festival goin on at the Silverdome right now and if THAT wasn't weird enough for ya, they have a goddamn giant inflated pot leaf "growing" out of the roof!

Still given a choice between stoners and jackboots - gimme the stoners, they do less harm!

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Oh, damn, I wish I were there, hee, hee, hee! While I am skeptical about it's cancer-curing properties, it's always been my feeling that it's less dangerous than booze--part of the reason I chose it over same (that plus the fact that booze doesn't like me; one drink, I'm buzzed: two and I'm sick).

Even without that, Curt, Jim's brother who lived with us on and off, was an alcoholic. I put him to bed sometimes, and he nearly died in detox. Alcoholism is bad stuff; and marijuana is only psychologically addictive.

Aside from even THAT, given the option of being around someone drunk and someone stoned, I'll take the latter, thank you, and they're a whole lot less likely to get violent!
