Freedom is Important because People are Important

"“You’re (probably) a federal criminal,” declares Alex Kozinski, an appeals-court judge, in a provocative essay of that title. Making a false statement to a federal official is an offence. So is lying to someone who then repeats your lie to a federal official."

Hello,

I won't call this an eye-opener, because I knew there was a problem. But perhaps it was an eye-widener. I didn't realize it was quite so bad.

You don't need a criminal conviction of a fed crime for the fed courts to ruin your life.

For $1.84, any Human Resource dept can use the internet to pull up my wife's entire litigation record in fed court from PACER, which over 100 corporations used to deny her management employment.

After her $250,000 settlement, and another $35,000 settlement in a class action, the only mega corporations that will hire her for management are those who hire illegal aliens without background checks, and put illegal aliens above management.

The only managers fired are those who obey the company rules. Managers are retained and promoted who break the company rules and laws, and who lose lawsuits costing the company money. The corporate world is just like Gangsta Govt. The 2 corporate attorneys we beat in court, and the senior fed court judge in that district who made an illegal order for $35,000 in arbitration fees prepaid to the private "judge" in advance (overturned on appeal), were all 3 fed prosecutors working in the same office...

PACER's logo is the same as the US Administrative Office of the Courts:

US Court official logo is the Nazi FASCES (bundle of sticks with an AXE)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasces

PACER has made govt contractors and judges half a billion dollars richer from public court records, while blacklisting everyone listed in internet court records.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PACER_(law)

That's the textbook definition of fascism.

And every time you drive in a National Park you're a criminal, according to all park rangers and all fed prosecutors and all fed judges in all fed courts.

MINCINGBEAST

Thanks for the excellent read; I feel much better about myself now.

Whenever an issue enters the public consciousness, there is a tendency to over correct by passing more laws. Its something that liberals and conservatives can agree on, it plays well to the public (makes it look like something is being done), and it feels good.

My solution--no law but the law of the jungle! Let the strong survive! Anarchy pwns!

NIKI2

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

You mean like a law against burning the flat? Hee, hee, hee..."safe" laws are the ones politicians want to pass...

And on a more serious note, I feel like DOMA equates to a flag-burning law...something enough people agree on that it sounds good, but in reality totally unnecessary. JMHO
