I hate to say it...I think they have every right to build that mosque wherever they can buy the land. This is a nation built upon individual rights. That camel jockey is an American citizen and has rights regardless of his religion. I find it very disturbing that conservatives are lining up against this. Going against this mosque is very Un-American, in my opinion. Can anyone make an argument against this mosque being built that isn't "it is insensitive". That argument is saying we were attacked by a Religion and not a group of Islamic extremists. Conservatives can't have it both ways. You are either for or against our constitution. Let the liberals be against individual liberty. They are very good at it.

This has zero to do with bravery or 'equal rights', and everything about Islam dominating a conquered foe.

There is every bit of evidence to suggest that putting a mosque so close to the site where the WTC stood is an act of domination and victory by the Muslims over America.

The commencement date, 9/11/11, was specifically and intentionally chosen to further accentuate the idea of Islam defeating the West.

There IS no other significance greater than this to those who favor building the Cordoba Mosque.

Through out history, whether its a Jewish temple or a Christian church, Muslims who conquered a people routinely convert and/ or place a mosque on top of older structures, as a open display of victory and dominance of Islam.

Wishing that this was some sort of peace offering or sign of coming together, of unity between two misunderstood peoples ... is a child's fantasy. There's nothing to it, what so ever.

Those who see this as anything but a slap in the face to the memory of 9/11 is fooling themselves.

Cause, to Rappy and his ilk, this building is certainly not about Americans, full citizenship tax-paying vote-casting Americans who happen to follow a different religion, going about their daily lives.

I'll also take a minute to recall the kid who lost his dad on 9-11 going on O'Reilly (back in 2002ish) to say that he didn't want the US invading Afghanistan, or killing innocents. See, some people can identity who the enemy really is, rather than acting on irrational fears. Only people like O'Reilly, Beck, Palin, and Rappy get into this whole defeatist I'm scared! it hurts! As to "why"...why not? It's not actually visible from 9/11 and, even if it were, it's within their rights, period. You could find a reason any church anywhere is insensitive to someone, and I find all churches insensitive because passing them by reminds me of organized religion which makes me grimace--especially LDS ones! It's a political game; another way to flame the hatred and xenophobia they've been fostering ever since the election, nonstop, and they never WILL stop. Freedom of worship is freedom of worship--I'm glad to see virtually all of us recognizing that, with the obvious exception(s) and one unexpected inclusion. Good for you, Kane.

Whenever someone discards the Constitution and its protections as soon as they become inconvenient, you know you are not dealing with a Libertarian or a Conservative, or even a Patriot of any stripe.

A Patriot is someone who stands between the hated and the mob, not someone who signs up to join the lynching.
