Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid broke with President Obama Monday over the proposed mosque near Ground Zero, saying the controversial Islamic center should be built elsewhere.

Spokesman Jim Manley put Reid on the record for the first time in the hyper-sensitive and volatile mosque debate.

"The First Amendment protects freedom of religion," Manley said. "Sen. Reid respects that but thinks that the mosque should be built some place else."

Reid's comments added another high-profile voice to the mosque controversy. The president first stepped into the fray Friday when he appeared to endorse the Park 51 project during a Ramadan dinner at the White House. The next day, he clarified that he was merely commenting on fundamental religious freedoms -- not specifically on the "wisdom" of the mosque project. Then White House spokesman Bill Burton said Obama was not "backing off" his original remarks

Dude, what the fuck are you smoking, and where can I get some of it?

You ran right out of the other thread once things started not going your way, and *I'M* too scared to comment about this?

Here's the entire text of the President's remarks on Friday night. I challenge anyone to find where he "endorses" building a mosque at Ground Zero, or anywhere else. He states that they have a constitutional RIGHT to do so, which you yourself have said nobody denies. He doesn't say they should or shouldn't, only that they CAN do so, in accordance with the religious freedoms set out in the Constitution.

Quote:

Text of President Obama's remarks at the White House Iftar dinner on Ramadan
Good evening. Welcome to the White House. To you, to Muslim Americans across our country, and to more than one billion Muslims around the world, I extend my best wishes on this holy month. Ramadan Kareem. I want to welcome members of the diplomatic corps; members of my administration; and Members of Congress, including Rush Holt, John Conyers, and Andre Carson, who is one of two Muslim American Members of Congress, along with Keith Ellison.

Here at the White House, we have a tradition of hosting iftars that goes back several years, just as we host Christmas parties, seders, and Diwali celebrations. These events celebrate the role of faith in the lives of the American people. They remind us of the basic truth that we are all children of God, and we all draw strength and a sense of purpose from our beliefs.
These events are also an affirmation of who we are as Americans. Our Founders understood that the best way to honor the place of faith in the lives of our people was to protect their freedom to practice religion. In the....

...Virginia Act for Establishing Religion Freedom, Thomas Jefferson wrote that “all men shall be free to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinions in matters of religion.” The First Amendment of our Constitution established the freedom of religion as the law of the land. And that right has been upheld ever since.

Indeed, over the course of our history, religion has flourished within our borders precisely because Americans have had the right to worship as they choose – including the right to believe in no religion at all. And it is a testament to the wisdom of our Founders that America remains deeply religious – a nation where the ability of peoples of different faiths to coexist peacefully and with mutual respect for one another stands in contrast to the religious conflict that persists around the globe.

That is not to say that religion is without controversy. Recently, attention has been focused on the construction of mosques in certain communities – particularly in New York. Now, we must all recognize and respect the sensitivities surrounding the development of lower Manhattan. The 9/11 attacks were a deeply traumatic event for our country. The pain and suffering experienced by those who lost loved ones is unimaginable. So I understand the emotions that this issue engenders. Ground Zero is, indeed, hallowed ground.

But let me be clear: as a citizen, and as President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country. That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances. This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakeable. The principle that people of all faiths are welcome in this country, and will not be treated differently by their government, is essential to who we are. The writ of our Founders must endure.

We must never forget those who we lost so tragically on 9/11, and we must always honor those who have led our response to that attack – from the firefighters who charged up smoke-filled staircases, to our troops who are serving in Afghanistan today. And let us always remember who we are fighting against, and what we are fighting for. Our enemies respect no freedom of religion. Al Qaeda’s cause is not Islam – it is a gross distortion of Islam. These are not religious leaders – these are terrorists who murder innocent men, women and children. In fact, al Qaeda has killed more Muslims than people of any other religion – and that list of victims includes innocent Muslims who were killed on 9/11.

That is who we are fighting against. And the reason that we will win this fight is not simply the strength of our arms – it is the strength of our values. The democracy that we uphold. The freedoms that we cherish. The laws that we apply without regard to race or religion; wealth or status. Our capacity to show not merely tolerance, but respect to those who are different from us – a way of life that stands in stark contrast to the nihilism of those who attacked us on that September morning, and who continue to plot against us today.

In my inaugural address, I said that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth. That diversity can bring difficult debates. Indeed, past eras have seen controversies about the construction of synagogues or Catholic churches. But time and again, the American people have demonstrated that we can work through these issues, stay true to our core values, and emerge stronger for it. So it must be – and will be – today.

Tonight, we are reminded that Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity. And Ramadan is a reminder that Islam has always been part of America. The first Muslim ambassador to the United States, from Tunisia, was hosted by President Jefferson, who arranged a sunset dinner for his guest because it was Ramadan—making it the first known iftar at the White House, more than 200 years ago.

Like so many other immigrants, generations of Muslims came here to forge their future. They became farmers and merchants, worked in mills and factories, and helped lay the railroads. They helped build America. They founded the first Islamic center in New York City in the 1890s. They built America’s first mosque on the prairie of North Dakota. And perhaps the oldest surviving mosque in America—still in use today—is in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Today, our nation is strengthened by millions of Muslim Americans. They excel in every walk of life. Muslim American communities—including mosques in all fifty states—also serve their neighbors. Muslim Americans protect our communities as police, firefighters and first responders. Muslim American clerics have spoken out against terror and extremism, reaffirming that Islam teaches that one must save human life, not take it. And Muslim Americans serve with honor in our military. At next week’s iftar at the Pentagon, tribute will be paid to three soldiers who gave their lives in Iraq and now rest among the heroes of Arlington National Cemetery.

These Muslim Americans died for the security that we depend upon, and the freedoms that we cherish. They are part of an unbroken line of Americans that stretches back to our Founding; Americans of all faiths who have served and sacrificed to extend the promise of America to new generations, and to ensure that what is exceptional about America is protected – our commitment to stay true to our core values, and our ability to perfect our union.

For in the end, we remain “one nation, under God, indivisible.” And we can only achieve “liberty and justice for all” if we live by that one rule at the heart of every religion, including Islam—that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us.
Thank you all for being here, and I wish you a blessed Ramadan. And with that, let’s eat.

He said they have a right to do so, and they do. You have said as much as well. Harry Reid is saying the same thing. You can WISH they'd build it somewhere else, but you can't deny they have the right to build on that site. And saying they have that right is not an endorsement of them exercising that right. Can't see why that's so hard to you to wrap your head around.

Unless I am mistaken, and I generally am, President Obama never affirmatively said "I support the Ground Zero Mosque; dirk dirka Mohammed Jihad." Rather, he offered the public platitudes about the First Amendment, and feebly chastised those who object to the Mosque. This is not the same as endorsing those who support it. Frankly, Obama's disapproval shouldn't sting any more than that of community college English teacher.

This is a non-issue, but I despise equivocation. Better for Reid to outright oppose the cursed thing, or support it, rather than issue the tepid party-line response: I am for it, and against it. Which is still better than Obama's response: I am neither for it, nor against it, nor was I commenting on it, nor shall I comment on it. Still, I appreciate Obama's reticence, in that given his...unique place in history...being associated too closely with Islam could be bad politics.

My solution: huff gasoline, play solitaire.

I don't care what your right-wing rags editorialize it as - Obama never said that it "has to be built", only that there is a constitutional right to build it. Reid agrees, so there is no "fall out" with the President, no matter what any in the media might claim.

From your same source:

Quote:

Obama said Saturday that he backed the rights of the builders to build a place of worship and community center on private property near Ground Zero "in accordance with local laws and ordinances," but stressed that he would not comment on the "wisdom of making a decision to put a mosque there."

That's not an endorsement, you dolt. That's an acknowledgment of the right to build it, while specifically NOT endorsing actually building it.

Quote:

Sen. Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader, on Monday declared his opposition to the building of an Islamic cultural center that includes a mosque near the lower Manhattan site of the World Trade Center destroyed in the 11 September 2001 terror attacks.

That's opposition to the mosque, not opposition to the President. I can oppose something while still recognizing its right to exist. Apparently you're too dumb to realize this.

Obama is a gutless little shit.

He said Friday night at the Dinner with Muslims celebrating Ramadainndan that he believes in the Constitution and the Law ( wow, how bold!), and that Muslims have the right to build their mosque as they see fit. Well whoopie fucking doo! Every school kid knows that! Big "act" of courage...fucking not! That is not, and never has been the issue.

Then Saturday morning he says he was NOT going to take a side or make any judgement as to the wisdom of building the mosque at ground zero. Well why the fuck not? He has no opinion? What is his opinion? America wants to know.

I'll bet you that the clueless idiot Obama completes his retreat soon, this week, and comes out with something like: Muslims have the right to do it, but they should consider the sensitivities involved for Americans on that issue......which is what he should have fucking said in the first place. Then he would have shown courage AND intelligence. Now, it's just another major blunder and disaster for Dem candidates, and he's created another issue which has further divided this country, but it is 70 to 30 against him. He'll throw them under the bus soon enough like he's done to so many others since day one for his own political expediency. Just watch!@

I can't help but think a better solution would have been for him to "appeal" to the people that want to build the mosque to build it elsewhere ("with all due respect, it would be better for all muslims in the US if you do"), try and make both sides happy, come out an undisputed hero all the way around, and win some votes in Nov. If they refused the onus would be on them, "I tried... but our constitution is clear on this..." which he said except for the I tried part.

Harry Reid's position is perfect, and if Obama had said what Reid said no one would have or could have complained. Instead, Obama's now trying to straddle the fence after his unnecessary and ill-conceived US Constitution lesson on behalf of Muslims Friday night. I'm surprised he didn't pull out his mini pocket-sized Constitution and read to all us ignorant, gun-clinging Americans the part about freedom of religion. Bush was good at that too; ever-reminding us to make nice-nice to Muslims. But now he's pissing off everyone with the firestorm he's ignited, and looking like a fool in the process.

It's a simple question Mr. President, and it's likely to keep coming up over and over. SHOULD (not do they have the right), but SHOULD they build the mosque at ground zero?

C'mon Barry, you're always so hopelessly boringly ineffective with your flowery prose telling us what's good for America, so tell us now.....is this mosque good for America? Tell us why 70% of us are wrong, not that we really give a fuck what you say, but nonetheless, bring it.

It will go nowhere, because of the mentality of this place, the all-consuming need of some here to focus on partisan jihad and the apparent need of some others to let themselves be drawn in, but are the facts:

Has anyone stopped to wonder how this whole community-center thing ever became an issue in the first place? Try this on for size:
Quote:

A group of progressive Muslim-Americans plans to build an Islamic community center two and a half blocks from ground zero in lower Manhattan. They have had a mosque in the same neighborhood for many years. There's another existing mosque two blocks further away. "Barely visible among the high-rise apartment buildings and cocktail lounges, a battered steel door in Manhattan’s trendy Tribeca neighborhood leads to a basement jammed with barefoot men praying on their lunch break." Muslims have been praying at the Pentagon, the other building hit on Sept. 11, for many years. "The Pentagon Memorial Chappel" honors the memory of the 184 victims of the 9/11 attack. Muslim worshippers can gather daily to offer prayers and can attend a Friday Prayer Service led by an Imam." City officials approved the community-center project at issue.

In short, there is no good reason that the Cordoba House project should have been a major national news story, let alone controversy. How did the Cordoba House become so toxic, so fast? Check out the history:

--Dec. 8 of LAST YEAR: The Times publishes a lengthy front-page look at the Cordoba project. "We want to push back against the extremists," Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the lead organizer, is quoted as saying. Two Jewish leaders and two city officials, including the mayor's office, say they support the idea, as does the mother of a man killed on 9/11. An FBI spokesman says the imam has worked with the bureau.

--Dec. 21, 2009: Conservative media personality Laura Ingraham interviews Abdul Rauf's wife, Daisy Khan, while guest-hosting "The O'Reilly Factor" on Fox. In hindsight, the segment is remarkable for its cordiality. "I can't find many people who really have a problem with it," Ingraham says of the Cordoba project, adding at the end of the interview, "I like what you're trying to do." After the segment — and despite the front-page Times story — there were no news articles on the mosque for five and a half months, according to a search of the Nexis newspaper archive.

--May 6, 2010: After a unanimous vote by a New York City community board committee to approve the project, the AP runs a story. It quotes relatives of 9/11 victims (called by the reporter), who offer differing opinions.

Pamela Geller, a right-wing, viciously anti-Muslim, conspiracy-mongering blogger, whose sinister portrayal of the project was embraced by Rupert Murdoch's New York Post. The Post runs a story under the inaccurate headline, "Panel Approves 'WTC' Mosque." Geller is less subtle, titling her post that day, "Monster Mosque Pushes Ahead in Shadow of World Trade Center Islamic Death and Destruction." She writes on her Atlas Shrugs blog, "This is Islamic domination and expansionism. The location is no accident. Just as Al-Aqsa was built on top of the Temple in Jerusalem." (To get an idea of where Geller is coming from, she once suggested that Malcolm X was Obama's real father. Seriously.)

--May 7, 2010: Geller's group, Stop Islamization of America (SIOA), launches "Campaign Offensive: Stop the 911 Mosque!" (SIOA 's associate director is Robert Spencer, who makes his living writing and speaking about the evils of Islam.) Geller posts the names and contact information for the mayor and members of the community board, encouraging people to write. The board chair later reports getting "hundreds and hundreds" of calls and e-mails from around the world.

--May 8, 2010: Geller announces SIOA's first protest against what she calls the "911 monster mosque" for May 29. (She also says that the protest will mark the dark day of "May 29, 1453, [when] the Ottoman forces led by the Sultan Mehmet II broke through the Byzantine defenses against the Muslim siege of Constantinople.")

--May 13, 2010: Peyser follows up with an entire column devoted to "Mosque Madness at Ground Zero." This is a significant moment in the development of the "ground zero mosque" narrative: It's the first newspaper article that frames the project as inherently wrong and suspect, in the way that Geller has been framing it for months. Peyser in fact quotes Geller at length and promotes the anti-mosque protest of Stop Islamization of America, which Peyser describes as a "human-rights group." Peyser also reports — falsely — that Cordoba House's opening date will be Sept. 11, 2011.

Starting that very day, the mosque story spread through the conservative — and then mainstream — media like fire through dry grass.

And here we are. The bottom line of this story is that it's a well-conceived, well-implemented campaign to utilize the building of a community center with a mosque in it as a way to gin up hatred and division and appeal to the fear and anti-Islamic feelings of people in America.

It's not a controversy. It wouldn't BE a controversy except for the efforts of a few fringe elements and the political savvy of the right, which jumped on the bandwagon and are milking it for all it's worth to use in the upcoming elections. They're doing a wonderful job; I can't turn on the TV without hearing about it, about Obama's comments on the issue, about the wrongness of building an Islamic church so close to Ground Zero.

The fact is, the Cordoba House complex at 45-51 Park Place would sit not “right next door” but instead two blocks away from the World Trade Center site, in an area that is not a somber pastoral landscape but a busy and diverse city district. There's a strip club three blocks from "Ground Zero", as is a trashy lingere store, and horse-betting bureau is even closer. Another strip club is four blocks from the site.

Any good politician knows to latch onto any issue that might be negative to the other side. The anti-islamists found one, the Republicans are naturally taking advantage of it, and will use it to best effect against the Democrats in the coming election. It works, but only because the American people are so easily manipulated. You find a useful story, blow it up on the internet or right-wing media, use buzz words which have nothing to do with the reality of the situation but everything to do with stirring up emotions and both conscious and subconscious beliefs, which will make it an “issue”, which the MSM will then cover, which makes it a nationwide issue, which causes/requires politicians to take a position on the issue, and voila! A tool is born!

By the way, Obama DIDN’T say it “has to be built”, and didn’t even “support” its building. As President, he reminded us of the rule of law and the Constitution. I don’t think he should have gotten involved and I think he’d have been smarter to qualify his statement when he made it if he felt the need to speak out; I think both were foolish mistakes. Not his first, or last; as I’ve said repeatedly, this was my fear and the reason I didn’t vote for him in the primaries; he’s not adept or savvy enough to play the political game expertly.. But that’s all.

Personally, despite the fact that it's completely wrong, I think the mosque shouldn't be built. My reasons are ones which shame me as an American; I assume the construction will experience a lot of difficulty, and there will be efforts to destroy it, even if it manages to GET built. People may well die at the hands of Americans and the police protection which will be necessary will cost public funds and tie up police who could be better used elsewhere. Those facts make me ashamed of my countrymen.

Too bad you had to follow that with a pratisan jab, Mike. If you were less interested in snarking at your opposition and more interested in open discussion, you'd provide less fodder for those looking to trigger. What happened to ignoring? You were so big on that...

Did it ever occur to you that every time you make a snark at the right or the individuals here, it triggers THEM to respond in like manner, and extends the idiocy? Nobody can stop anyone from the kind of silly, irrelevant remarks here, but that doesn't necessitate encouraging them.

By the way, I don't see Reid's comments as a rat jumping off a sinking ship. I see it more as a political step meant to help in his election battle. Only a typical politician taking a more popular stance.

There is no sinking ship. There are no rats...tho' that's a difficult claim to make about ANY Politician, I admit.

Of course what you said is valid, I wasn't talking about that. I was referring to the fact that pointing out the problem does nothing but encourage others to find equally hypocritical facts to toss back or to call you names.

To those who already know it, it means nothing; to those who oppose you, it means nothing but "yeah, well, but so-and-so" and/or the desire to go after you personally. It's not like pointing it out will have ANY positive effect, it's merely you doing what they do.

What DID happen to ignoring? I see you diving right in as always, behaving only slightly better than those you encouraged me to ignore, and prolonging the ugliness by doing so. What purpose does it serve? There are times when presenting facts on one side or the other is, as you said, valid in that it refutes an argument. But not this, nor much of what you're still doing.

Next time you want to advise me to ignore the idiocy, really MEAN it, okay? I won't respond further on this, as just doing so encourages, well, what will no doubt follow.

Niki, do you really think Rappy and his minions come here looking for any kind of rational, reasoned debate or discussion?

Look at the FACTS of this "controversy"

1) The President states that these people clearly have a right to build a mosque, because the Constitution is quite clear on that point. He makes no pronouncement of his opinion on whether or not he agrees with them wanting to do so, only that they have that right.

2) Harry Reid agrees that they have that right, but he wishes they'd build it elsewhere.

3) The right-wingers here rush to claim that "Reid breaks with Obama o Mosque issue!"

4) There was no "break". President Obama never said he wished they'd build it right over the center of Ground Zero, or that he wished anything at all regarding this mosque or its location or timing. Both men stated that Muslims have the right to build it. Only one of them uttered an opinion on the wisdom of building it. Ergo, no "break" between them, since the only point they both mentioned is the one they are in complete agreement on: The Muslims DO have the right to build this mosque.

Even the right-wingers here state unequivocally that they have the right to do this. Does that mean they're endorsing it as well? I mean, CLEARLY they've endorsed it every bit as much as Obama has, right?

Mike, you aren't replying to what I wrote. I never said they came here for rational ANYTHING, obviously we know that.

I said that your responding to them with snarks of your own or making partisan comparisons, only ENCOURAGES them in what they would do anyway. Ergo, where there might be one snark or obscene insult, there becomes a litany of them, bringing in others to agree with them and add their own attacks.

Of course I know that, be it you or I, or anyone voicing the opposite side of what they believe, presenting facts or refuting their non-facts, encourages them. On the other hand, limiting oneself to just that, as opposed to insults guaranteed to trigger or partisan comparisons of our own, doesn't result in increses it. It will happen no matter what, but responding gives them the fodder they need to go on and on and on...

I would never argue that they come here to engage anyone else in rational discussion. It's obvious if one reads any single thread that their posts are nothing but partisan rants denegrating anyone and anything on the opposing side, rarely containing any facts and frequently repeating lies and misrepresentations, then devolving whenever possible into insults and obscenities. Is that a reason to engage them whatsoever??

I stated clearly that I understand your purpose in refuting falsehoods; my disagreement (and YOURS, at one time) is with returning their snarks in kind and putting up "but so-and-so" in response, both of which are THEIR tactics intended to prolong the flame war.

Every morning I come here, and for a while I read threads, see the sadly pathetic attacks and attempts to trigger, and pass them by easily. After a while I find myself being pulled into the mentality by some falsehood or slander (not of me, at least THOSE don't trigger me into responding anymore), and I'm tempted to sink to their level in response. It's hard, I admit it; but every day I start anew and try to stay on track. The minute I give in to snarking back, they've won and reduced this place to nothing more than a playground for their ugly, lonely need for attention. Simple as that.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

As I said, he's been railing against the First Amendment literally for years. Here's him in 2006:

Quote:

Gingrich: Free Speech Should Be Curtailed To Fight Terrorism
By JOSH GERSTEIN

A former House speaker, Newt Gingrich, is causing a stir by proposing that free speech may have to be curtailed in order to fight terrorism.

"We need to get ahead of the curve rather than wait until we actually literally lose a city, which I think could literally happen in the next decade if we're unfortunate," Mr. Gingrich said Monday night during a speech in New Hampshire. "We now should be impaneling people to look seriously at a level of supervision that we would never dream of if it weren't for the scale of the threat."

Speaking at an award dinner billed as a tribute to crusaders for the First Amendment, Mr. Gingrich, who is considering a run for the White House in 2008, painted an ominous picture of the dangers facing America.

"This is a serious, long-term war," the former speaker said, according an audio excerpt of his remarks made available yesterday by his office. "Either before we lose a city or, if we are truly stupid, after we lose a city, we will adopt rules of engagement that use every technology we can find to break up their capacity to use the Internet, to break up their capacity to use free speech, and to go after people who want to kill us to stop them from recruiting people."

Mr. Gingrich acknowledged that these proposals would trigger "a serious debate about the First Amendment." He also said international law must be revised to address the exigencies posed by international terrorists.

Do you still think that I'm kidding? Or that he is?

About this mosque, he had this to say:

Quote:

There should be no mosque near Ground Zero in New York so long as there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia.

Finally where is the money coming from? The people behind the Cordoba House refuse to reveal all their funding sources.

America is experiencing an Islamist cultural-political offensive designed to undermine and destroy our civilization. Sadly, too many of our elites are the willing apologists for those who would destroy them if they could.

No mosque.

No self deception.

No surrender.

The time to take a stand is now - at this site on this issue.

Will Newt expand that disclosure of all funding and financing to EVERY religious group and building?

Last week, he said this:

Quote:

"Nazis don't have the right to put up a sign next to the holocaust museum in Washington,"

Actually, they do have that right, and have exercised such rights in protests around the country, hoisting their Nazi signs in front of holocaust museums in places like Skokie, Illinois.

I completely understand why no one on the right wants to address this issue - it's far too uncomfortable and close to home for them.

But shouldn't those of you on the left, or those of you who consider yourselves libertarians or constitutionalists, be asking Newt some pointed questions about why he is so intent on rolling back First Amendment protections and freedoms?

You're full of it, Kwickie.

That's the biggest load of absurdity and fabricated nonsense I think I've seen anyone waste time posting here since Pirate News.

Congrats.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Every bit of it is well-sourced and those are direct quotes from Gingrich himself.

Sorry you can't handle the truth. You never could. And you'll defend Gingrich as a "patriot" while completely ignoring - or outright denying - that he has quite clearly, in no uncertain terms, called for the abolition of the First Amendment.

On this matter, make no mistake. I want you to go fuck yourself long and hard, as well as anyone who agrees with you. I got no use for you.

Mr. President, you're a god damn, mother fucking liar.
Fuck you, you cock sucking community activist piece of shit.
... go fuck yourself, Mr. President.

Meanwhile, in Rappy's douchebag fantasy world......

Silly Kwicko. You're not supposed to go by what Newt *says*, but what you think he thinks. You know, as long as it supports your own biase BS ideas.

This thread is a hoot, coupled with Wulf's chat with Niki in the feminism thread. Rappy and Wulf prove what they proved because they said so and QED.

I wish that worked for me. Every morning I wake up and say: "I'm a millionaire. Proved!" and yet, my bank account never changes. *sigh*

I challenge you to prove that, and to prove that any of what Mike posted is a lie. Please provide cites.

He can't refute it, Niki. He won't even try, because he knows that every single word of it is 100% factual and accurate, and every quote is fully sourced and widely reported.

I imagine Rappy's mind to be a sad and frightening place, where facts are met with scorn and denial at every turn. Depressing really, that such a zombie walks among us.
