As to mistaking to whom he was posting, that's happened many, many times as well, and I believe you might have made a similar complaint. Why not just do as some of us do and admit you mistook the post as being aimed at you? It doesn't hurt, honestly.

Because she's appealing to the conservative Tea Party base...that translates to an awful lot of very religious, narrow-minded types who won't take kindly to her having dabbled in Wicca. Me, I have no problem with it whatsoever, I think Wicca is cool (as long as it's nonviolent), but I'm a "lib", so of course I'm a heathen idol-worshipper. Some of THEM take that kind of stuff very seriously and most definitely won't approve.

For one thing, look at Rove already calling her out on it and insisting she has to explain. Obviously you are entirely too open-minded for their taste, but that doesn't mean they are.

I don't think it'll stand her in good stead with the electorate which makes up the base that put her there.

By the way, I STILL want to know where you saw those suggested signs for the Stewart rally...I'd LOVE to see them!

I could care less, but in all likelyhood she was prolly just hanging with some goth-types who kitbashed their own misperceptions into a ritual belief of some kind - usually not all that dangerous, but on occasion (Say, Utah 1985-1986) that can get seriously ugly, but that's quite rare, honestly.

Nor would it bother me if it was Voodoun, Santeria, Wicca, Satanism or what-have-you, hell, Shadow Path Vajrayana isn't exactly a NICE belief either, given it's not-so-distant relation to the Cult of Kali.

Ever more ironic given the approaching Hallow, where the veil between worlds is thinnest due to the friction of seasonal time, and the related celebrations and merriment, it's a time for it, I guess.

And yes, cause she looks young enough to get away with it (and hey, free candy!) I pretty much agree that she no doubt had no idea what she was doing or talking about. Wicca is just as stated, and nothing to do with blood rites and the kind of crap she was giving out with. She also stated that (I think it was in college) she had a lot of sex with guys she “wasn’t emotionally attached to” and drank excessively. That’s apparently when her “conversion” to uptight prissy religiosity began...remember, she’s an “awakened evangelical”.

Or, since she’s given to outrageous statements, maybe it had shock value to “remember” it as something other than it was...or even just SAY it, tho’ untrue. She’s already been caught in more than one lie, and hey, in politics anything goes...as long as you don’t get found out!

Cuda, of COURSE you see nothing wrong with it; far as I’ve ever been able to tell, you’re not an over-religious zealot, but a lot of Tea Partiers ARE...a lot of conservatives, too. Given what I now understand, the bulk of them will probably ignore it or pretend it didn’t exist, but there are some who are going to look at her sideways because of it...how many I couldn’t begin to guess, as their mentality fails me anyway. But the “tell” is that Rove said she was going to have to address it—yeah, he’s no fan and would be likely to pick up on anything negative, but I’ll bet he’s not wrong; SOME will have problems with it.

This woman is amazing in her ignorance. She thinks "czar" is an actual royal title instead of what people call the guy in charge of a department, and she slams Obama for creating royalty, which she says is prohibited by the Constitution. Her misunderstanding of government and English and history, subjects she should have some knowledge of for the job she seeks, also extends to her ignorance of George Bush having appointed "czars" during his term. She's just amazing!

She doesn't realize - as most tea-baggers don't, because they're not really very bright, and haven't been paying attention to things at all until [GASP!] A BLACK MAN was elected President - that "czar" isn't really the official job title, but just the shorter name generally given to the holder of such a position. It's generally a position below the Cabinet, yet still rather important to the government.

Nixon had his "energy czar", Reagan had education czars and drug czars, Bushes I & II had a whole slew of czars.

But O'Donnell doesn't realize this, because as noted above, she's a dummy who slept through all her college courses, her high school civics courses, and her adult life.

Or maybe she was under a spell... ;)
