This is what happens when a significant portion of a population is propagandized to the point where they can't see reality. Personally, I can see hyperinflation in some sectors, deflation in others, a collapse of our military empire, and possibly even a reversion to fascism as tea-baggers keep pushing the same stupid agenda that didn't work the first couple pf dozen times they tried it. So you haven't noticed what's going on in Europe recently? France is grinding to a halt because the citizenry can't stand the idea that they might have to work until they're 62 instead of 60 (US is 67). Spain, Greece, and Ireland are in the crapper. The EU is strained.

China is doing pretty well because their take on political and economic ethics makes Bernie Madoff look like a saint. This is your exemplar for the improvement of the world?
