This one especially for Chrisisall, relevant to the earlier history lesson.

Such political nastiness is not a new thing, and mind you, Adams was the first of these nimrods to try something like the Patriot Act.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Adams#Alien_and_Sedition_Acts

So it's not like the Federalists, which later became the Republican party, ever deviated from their agenda of a new feudalism with themselves at the head of it, it's just that american public school "History" tends to gloss over inconvenient little details like that.

For the record, despite attempts to paint him as anything else, Adams really was kind of a creep, and the Hamilton-Madison wing of the Federalists broke with him around 1800, Hamilton cause he pulled the mask off too soon, and Madison cause he was utterly horrified at the evidence that the Federalists didn't actually MEAN any of those high minded ideals they had been spouting, and eventually he threw in with Jefferson in the foundation of what would much later become the Democratic party.

Madison was a bit of a naive bonehead, but he meant well - which is far more than can be said for Hamilton, Adams and Jay.

Oh, and cause I just cannot resist doing so, and happen to have it all in mind...

Everyone knows Pat Henrys famous quote, but no one ever seems to bother listening to the ENTIRE speech, as the context of it was so extremely important to understanding his meaning.

So, the whole clip, with video backing, to aid understanding of how that all went down.

It is as applicable now, as it was then.

DREAMTROVE

true, but just to set the record straight

Jefferson transformed the Federalists into the Democratic-Republican Party.

That group then split into two parties:
Jackson's Democrats and
John Quincy Adam's National Republicans.

The Nat. Republican party then merged with the Whigs. 16 years later, the party dissolved, and the new "Republican" party was born, with many of the original Nat. Republicans as members, and forwarded a lunatic named Lincoln, who launched a massive military campaign that killed a million of his own people.

But that's only half of the story.

Andrew Jackson's branch of federalism split from the Dem-Rep party on a specific issue: "The Indian Question"

The indian question, simply put, was Jackson's proposal that the native population of 12 million people be genocided, either removed by force or exterminated, all treaties with them voided, and their lands seized, their nations and international treaties abolished.

This position, while it had support from powerful corrupt corporation interests, national and international, was not enough to base a campaign on, so he expanded it with a second platform point: The permanent enslavement of all african races to be passed on genetically in perpetuity, as national policy for the USA.

This Issue would later lead Democratic President Jefferson Davis to launch a military campaign that would kill one million of his own people.

Yes, two presidents share the blame for that one.

So, sure, the republican party is a degenerate whore, but you omitted the minor detail that the democratic party is not a lick better.

Paid for by the Democratic Party ;)
