The slaughter has begun. It will forever be remembered as a sobering day for libtards, who just 21 months ago were celebrating their victory by circle jerking and spreading their mental disorder all across America. Make no mistake today is a mandate AGAINST that festering sore in the white house.

I can see you libtards now, sitting depressed on your couches, thermometer in mouth, tears in eyes.....you don't have the flu, just a good 'ole ass kicking by real Americans....You could move to San Fransicko or Cuba.

ROFL.....Glorious fucking Glorious........

Even here in blue CT...patriots are eveywhere(sure they won't win here, but there has never been this many conservatives here....thank you Barry, Nancy, and harry)

Glorious....*Bing*....That was my hard-on.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Kwicko, I formally condemn your mother for not aborting you. Yeah, I'm sure her brother was happy to have a son, but you are inexcusable....

Sure, keep telling yourself that. It's more accurately an example of the ill informed indulging in knee-jerk reaction-ism.

And, with all the Teabagging nutjobs about to get into office, the victories you are celebrating today pretty much ensure a second term for Obama.

Don't worry, Wulfie - if you actually WERE informed, the tea-baggers would have no use for you. They rely on their base being completely uninformed and malleable. And that base is only to happy to comply.

Nope, they don't care. I chalk it up to insecurity and hoping that by overblowing it, their hopes will come to pass. That and having been on the "outs" for two years makes them all the more desperate to be back "in". It's sad to watch.

I'm sorry you don't come here more often Oppyh...yes, that is pretty much what it's degenerated to, but I still enjoy the sane voices and pretty much try to ignore the others. Too many sane ones have left; I treasure every one that remains.

What you idiots don’t realize is there’s no tears, no hair pulling...you just think so because that’s what you did last election. We’re more sane than that, we know it’s a pendulum swing, whatever happens; we know precisely what it IS: a visceral reaction of fear because of the economy and excellent manipulation by the right to make people forget all the things the Dems managed to do. Scared people need someone to blame, and the Dems couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty back together again fast enough, so they’ll pay the price. There’s another election in two years, and one after that and one after that. America will go on, and I can’t think of anyone who’ll be crying over one lost election.

Story nailed it:
Quote:

It's more accurately an example of the ill informed indulging in knee-jerk reaction-ism.
It saddens me that so many Americans can vote against their own best interests so stupidly, but we’ve seen it before; after all, Bush got a second term.

What I WILL be interested in seeing is what happens to the kooks who get elected...that should be interesting; amusing, since they can’t do too much harm in the next two years and by then most of America will have realized the screwed up. We shall see.
Quote:

Tea party types are more educated than others and are more informed and involved in politics than most.....

Oh, gawd, now I DO have tears...that’s a good one, give us another! Tea Party types get all their “information” from Fox News, swallow the pablum and vomit it out whenever they can...that’s not “informed” by a long shot.

Story, you forgot “witchcraft”.

Whozit: no pain, no tears; we’re not like you, we understand the way politics work. But do go ahead and fuck your bagel, it’s about your mentality.

Kane, yes, I am just the type of person Stewart was talking about...and TO: intelligent, thoughtful, able to see past Beck’s rhetoric, not a racist, xenophobe or homophobe, and more. If you think Tea Partiers don’t watch Fox, you are truly self-delusional...why then do their signs spout Fox talking points and buzz words? Why does Fox have the high ratings you guys crow about, if the ultra-conservative right wingers don’t watch? Enjoy your fantasy of the Tea Party as a “truly libertarian” movement, it’s your fantasy in which to indulge.

Oppyh is right, this is getting boring. Aren’t there any intelligent people here who want to actually discuss anything, rather than listen to the poor deluded souls pat themselves on the back and think they’ve “won” something?

Unfortunately, a significant part of the GOP has been taken over by brownshirts (for those of you who don't know history, that's NOT the same as Browncoats)- utterly hate filled people who are ready to stomp the heads of their opposition and are proud of it. They have no use for democracy, although they bray the word "freedom" at every opportunity. Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Thought I'd pop these in:

"These mid-term elections have always been hard on the party in power, specifically the party of the sitting president.

Ronald Reagan was in his first term in the White House in November 1982 when the Democratic Party picked up 27 seats in the House of Representatives to take a 269-166 advantage over the Republicans. The Democrats picked up one seat in the U.S. Senate and won the governorship in seven additional states.

Two years later, President Reagan cruised to victory over Walter Mondale, defeating him 58.8 percent to 40.6 percent, carrying 49 of 50 states.

But in 1986, the mid-term elections hit Reagan hard again. Republicans lost eight seats in the Senate and five seats in the House."

"REAGAN'S RECESSION

The early presidency of Republican hero Reagan, like Obama's, endured the worst recession since the Great Depression.

Unemployment under Reagan rose from 7.2 percent when he took office in January 1981 to a 10.8 percent peak in November 1982. Personal income, a measure of American financial well-being that economists say clearly effects U.S. election results, also stagnated over this period. It grew just 2.2 percent during 1982 in real, inflation-adjusted terms, and a mere 1.4 percent in the final quarter of the year.

REAGAN'S RATINGS SLUMP, BUT SOON BACK IN FAVOR

Reagan paid a price. Climbing unemployment was matched by a drop in his popularity to 42 percent before the 1982 congressional elections from 51 percent when he took office.

Voter disenchantment subsequently led to the loss of 27 Republican seats in the U.S. House of Representatives in the November 1982 elections, entrenching control of the chamber in Democratic Party hands."

It is a glorious day, to be sure. Obama is sure to pivot harder to the Left, so stubborn and arrogant is he ... alas, he lacks the political savvy of the Clintons. It will be to his undoing.

But there's work a plenty left over. Had some major opportunities fall by the way side, so we can't celebrate for too long.

Very true, but I didn't think it was going to be bigger than '94. 2012 will be similar in my opinion. When you add.... that the two independents in the senate don't always caucus with dems, things are looking up.

Be coutious about 2012. After 1994, remember how impossible it seemed that any thinking person could vote for Clinton in 96- yet look at that disaster. The Republicans (or Tea-Party) needs a strong candidate in 2012, not another Dole/McCain/Ford liberal.
For the record, if Palin is on my ballot, I'm voting for her unless a D is next to her name.

That's what radicals like them do, after all.

But so overwhelming and convincing was this victory, it even outshines Newt's GOP Revolution of '94

@#!*% YEAH !!!!

Every instance of voter fraud and intimidation was carried out by the TeaBaglicans.

Are you more delirious than usual? Earth to Kwickie: Harry Reid is not a Tea Party or Republican candidate. All of the cases of voter fraud reported were to benefit the Democraps. Having the ballot pre-marked for Harry Reid was not a tactic of the right.
