I'm not a master of this, I'm one of the ones who needs editing, but I wanted to comment a couple of things

I've always thought that if I were a politician, I'd want to say one sentence at each press event. That way it would always get reported, and never distorted. Sort of like Silent Bob.

Your videos don't play on most of the setups I have, but even if they did, each is an investment of 5 min. If I spend 5 min on each post of yours I'm devoting far more time to you than to anyone else. This seems unreasonable, and made somewhat worse by the fact that it took no time at all for you to post the video. You are shifting the balance of time on communication from yourself towards your audience. Because your audience outnumbers you, this results in added cumulative inefficiency.

The only result of this is that people will ignore your posts.

Most of what I said to Wulf applies to your posts, as they are often quite long. I know, so are mine. My suspicion is that you type somewhere in the range of 150+ because I know you were a professional stenotypist, as you mentioned in an earlier thread. That's fine, but it leads to the same result. In order to give a fair balance of time, I am forced at time to skim your posts. If you took some time to edit, more would get read.

The ideal post is probably short and to the point, and gets read. I actually am principally making this point for wulf, but I think that I'd be remiss in not mentioning that sometimes I miss things you say simply because it gets lost in the shuffle of large quantities of text.

On failure of info tech to date is the lack of a good editing tool.

I'm one of those people that thinks life needs a soundtrack.

(I'm from the MTV generation so...)

I'll TRY to dial it back.

PN used to have these horribly long posts heavy with jpgs. When he dialed it back, I read all of his posts now. Dialing back really does work.

CTS,

It never occurred to me, but your internet connection is probably dialup. I remember dialup, and how images used to take time to load. I've forgotten it, but you make a good point, for much of the world, this is probably still the case.

Sorry DT, you are wrong on this. She may be 150+, but go back and look at her fucking gigantic posts...90% of it is cut and paste from some far left blog. She has not had an original thought since she handed her life over to drugs. See, that is what happens when you are high all the time and busy banging Guys and Gals...One has no time to think, work, or be productive. I'll go out on a limb and say she doesn't even cook...just eats frozen burritos from the gas station......Well, this could be true.

Actually, I do have broadband here, albeit on the lower end of broadband. And yes, it sometimes feels like dial-up (ok, not quite that bad... but it feels like it).
