An interesting thought, China has enjoyed its capitalist boom - what will happen when they encounter their first bust? I think the ruling communist regime will come under real pressure from the people.

It's not personal. It's just war.

>_> It's a two class system, worker class is already very disgruntled, but very oppressed.

The question is if the government will have enough money in a bust to simply come down harder or if a workers revolution will happen.

DREAMTROVE

I don't think the workers revolution can overthrow the workers revolution. The idea is making my brain fry.

Byte, I think China has done quite well for its workers, lifting hundreds of millions of them out of poverty etc. (not so well in terms of freedoms, admittedly). It's been a tremendous boom, it's just what happens when the economy turns bumpy, which, if I know capitalism...

I don't consider forcing people of their farms where they can at least grow their own food into danwei forced labour for pittance and starvation rations is really "better"...

For people who get a college education and can get into the party or a management position in one of the capitalist corporations, life is okay, but it's held up on the backs of what basically amounts to slave labour.

There's a lot more of the really really poor than there is the moderately well off and educated. And they're getting angry...
