Hello,

No, I don't mean power for the terrorists. Rather, it equals power for the government. The power to do whatever they like, essentially.

I watch with interest as some of our representatives aim to label more and more things as terrorism. This, to expand the powers of government to intrude into our lives.

All to up the ante on a war we shouldn't be fighting.

Where are the small government crusaders? It seems they can be swept away by the buzzword of the day:

TERRORISM.

Worse, Anthony, is when they support, encourage, or create that terrorism in order to justify their fucking power grabs and disrespect for the constitution and the rule of law.

Again, who gave Ramzi Yousef and Khalid Shiek Mohammed the bomb in 1993 ?

Every one of these recent cack-handed dunsel "plots" in recent history, who was the actual originator of it ?

Yeah, we DO have a problem with terrorists, but they're in Langley and Quantico, operating under the cover of perceived legitimacy and official sanction - I can't make that clear enough, and they maintain their funding via blackmail, extortion and a protection-racket methodology.

Only way to fight THAT kind of terrorism is with sunlight and accountability - both of which are dirty words on capitol hill these days.

You see, think on this - what better excuse for "we need more money/power/whatever!" than staging a pathetic and abortive bombing attempt of your own HQ, such an easy plan to sell, right ?

But what if the plotters turn out not to be the expected incompetents and have been baiting the so-called "good guys" the whole time ?

And then when those plotters are linked to some OTHER alphabet soup squad, who is in competition for that budget....

And that's just one wee little damn obvious example of just how easy it can be to set the machine against itself - and the bigger and more complex it becomes, the easier that gets.
