Post a url? That's your entire strategy for "duh - winning!"? Really?

I didn't bother watching any of those. Did you have an actual case to make, that you can put in WORDS? After all, isn't an "argument" (which is what you claim you're trying to "win", after all) a contest of words?

Were any of those vids the footage of tea-bagging "small government conservative" hero Rand Paul arguing that any American who listens to "radical" speeches could and should be locked up without charges, warrants, or legal justification?

Or were they that *other* tea-bag hero Florida Governor Rick Scott signing into law a bill which requires massive government spending to do mandatory drug testing of any Floridian who receives any kind of public aid, and all public employees? (I'm sure it's just a coincidence that he happens to own a drug-testing company, right?)

And I'm sure he'll exempt employees of hospitals which treat Medicare patients, even though those hospitals technically ARE receiving public assistance in the form of Medicare payments. But Rick Scott doesn't like to talk about Medicare billing, does he? ;)

So Kwick...

"I didn't bother watching any of those..."

Your whole argument is: "I refuse to, at the very least, even HEAR your argument. So I'm going to just post MY views."

Thats awesome man. Really. I mean damn, wow, and other words of thanks!

You are the absolute epitome of the typical liberal! Thank you!

Now, if you cared to watch these points, then make some sort of counter argument... we got something to talk about. If not..

Keep shouting into the "echo-chamber" of your own mind-set.

Again dude.. thank you. I figured you guys couldn't, wouldn't, think outside of your box... but thanks for proving it.

Wulf, you have to understand that you're not making YOUR argument. I'm not refusing to hear YOUR argument, because you haven't made one. Post your argument - YOUR WORDS - and maybe include a video link if you like. I won't watch it, of course, because I don't have access to youtube on my work computer.

But if you want to debate me, you'll have to actually use your words.

I completely understand if that's too much of a challenge for you, or if you can't do it. I'm used to hearing that from you Republicans.

Ya see, Kwicko, that is the conservative strategy of how to win: Just repeat your claim, be it truth, propaganda or outright lie, enough times, loud enough, to overpower and bully the opposition into submission. Ya don't have to win by facts or logic, just stubbornness. Adolf Hitler perfected it, and gave it its proper name: the Big Lie Strategy.

Pretty much says it all, tho’ it works well for conservatives, too.

Nice trick, the “you won’t watch them so you have no argument”, Wulf, then saying liberals are dumb because we don’t choose t sit through all (or any) of your predictably-baised bullshit videos. but pretty pathetic, actually. You see, most of us know where you’re coming from, so we know what you’ll post...tell me exactly WHY we should take the time to sit through a dozen (or more? I didn’t bother to count) videos full of nothing but the absurdities you picked to spout? I can’t think of a single reason...my time, for one, is more valuable than to waste that way; I’ll leave it to you to have so much time to spare and so little to do it with (and such a need to claim you “won”) that you’re willing to hunt up all that trash. And yes, I know it’s trash, it’s obvious from the title you chose. Been there/done that/not doing it again.

So my question is: Given we know your agenda, given we know what the videos will be, WHY SHOULD WE BOTHER? Why should we do ANYTHING but mock you? You have no argument, you have nothing to say, you merely put up a bunch of videos which mean nothing. Duh...

KPO: Excellent. And thanx for affirming what I already knew would be true.

Wulf, you are so DAMNED sad; you claim you’ve “won” (something), tho’ you haven’t even SAID anything; you love to parrot that “truth hurts” when you didn’t OFFER any truth...all in all just a waste of time to read through the whole thread.

Here ‘ya go Byte: or this one, if you like it better: Goes for me too.

The only interesting thing, to me, is why he's chosen to put up URLs when, being Youtube videos, he could have put up the videos themselves. Does he think we'll click on the URLs because we've stopped watching his stupid videos?

Actually, I'd say National Socialists were a combination of abhorrent flavours.

Hitler was obviously influenced by Mussolini, and the two of them didn't believe any of the remaining democratic nations could stand up to authoritarianism, a view further cemented by Franco's wins in Spain and the non-intervention from Britain and France.

National Socialism also was a system of corporate cronyism - friends of Hilter's were owners of corporations that became the backbone of the centralized economy. If someone angered Hitler (not uncommon), they would disappear and Hitler would bestow his favour on someone else. And, of course, the concentration camps were really war time slave labour drawn from political dissenters, nationalities, gays, and of course Jews. With horrific living conditions, forced experimentation, mass death, and the war starting to turn in the Alliance's favour, the Nazis eventually realized they had to cover it up, with more mass death (gas chambers) and disposing of the evidence (incinerators).

But, on the other hand, card-carrying Nazis enjoyed numerous benefits. They believed in a meritocracy, with absolute allegiance towards the state. They believed in private property, but thought private property should ultimately be controlled by the state, used in the name of the state, and that the community was more important than the individual. Similarly, some of their policies towards non-Nazis were on the basis of promoting the German working class, not just economically, but also in breeding and more intimate and intrusive details of daily life.

The National Socialists were a schizophrenic ideology, and it's hard to nail down precisely what exactly they were practicing, which was completely intentional on their part.

Suffice to say, the Nazis were Nazis. It's pointless to compare them to existing political parties of today - the only use the Nazis have today is as a warning of how to avoid the signs of dangerous power and authority in government, military, corporations, and society.

Since your own link categorizes them as the National Socialist German Worker's Party and the democrats/leftists are busy sucking labor's dick, then yes, I see a line of comparison. I didn't make it through the first video, but if all of them are those stupid computer voiced preplanned argument and response then I can only assume your answer is 'fix the game.'

It's not easy to 'win' against a liberal/pregressive/socialists-etc because they (much like anyone else with politics) have last-word-itus.

Their jerking knees are dangerous and can lead to viscous low blows. Also, they can strip any enhancements or morale bonuses with a 'racist' curse. This curse is persistent and will spread to nearby party members, making it difficult to find support.

I recommend tanking them. Send a more defensible person to get the agro, but keep him healthy enough from a distance. In other words, engage in a war of attrition. Let them make asses of themselves until their mana runs lower and their curses become less powerful.

Your statements make no sense at all. What the Nazis *CALLED* themselves, and what they actually *DID* are pretty wildly disconnected. You cite calling them the "worker's party" as them being busy "sucking labor's dick", apparently. Guess you never heard about them coming for the trade unionists, eh? ;) Nazis weren't big on organized labor, unless it was the kind they organized the slave camps to do. That puts them pretty firmly on the right wing of the ideological scale, as you've just stated when you pointed out how ANTI-labor you truly are.

I dun wanna hear what someone else says, I wanna hear what YOU got to say, in your own words, or why argue with you at all, when you're so welded to an agenda all you can do is spout its party line over and over - that's no more interesting than arguing with an automated telephone menu, and about as useful.

Here's a good rebuttal of that position, from the Political Compass's FAQs:

Quote:

Why is Hitler slightly right ? The Nazis were socialists, so they weren't fascists either.

Let's start with the second part first. Some respondents confuse Nazism, a political party platform, with fascism, which is a particular structure of government. Fascism legally sanctions the persecution of a particular group within the country - political, ethnic, religious - whatever. So within Nazism there are elements of fascism, as well as militarism, capitalism, socialism etc. To tar all socialists with the national socialist brush is as absurd as citing Bill Gates and Augusto Pinochet in the same breath as examples of free market capitalism.
Economically, Hitler was well to the right of Stalin. Post-war investigations led to a number of revelations about the cosy relationship between German corporations and the Reich. No such scandals subsequently surfaced in Russia, because Stalin had totally squashed the private sector. By contrast, once in power, the Nazis achieved rearmament through deficit spending. One of our respondents has correctly pointed out that they actively discouraged demand increases because they wanted infrastructure investment. Under the Reich, corporations were largely left to govern themselves, with the incentive that if they kept prices under control, they would be rewarded with government contracts. Hardly a socialist economic agenda !
But Nazi corporate ties extended well beyond Germany. It is an extraordinarily little known fact that in 1933 a cabal of Wall Street financiers and industrialists plotted an armed coup against President Roosevelt and the US Constitutional form of government. The coup planners - all of them deeply hostile to socialism - were enthusiastic supporters of German national socialism and Italian fascism. Details of the little publicised Congressional report on the failed coup may be read in 1000 Americans:The Real Rulers of the USA by George Seldes.
Fascism, according to the American Heritage Dictionary (1983) is A system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with belligerent nationalism. Italian philosopher Giovanni Gentile's entry in the Encyclopedia Italiana read: Fascism should more appropriately be called corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power. No less an authority on fascism than Mussolini was so pleased with that definition that he later claimed credit for it.
Nevertheless, within certain US circles, the misconception remains that fascism is essentially left wing, and that the Nazis were socialists simply because of the "socialism" in their name. We wonder if respondents who insist on uncritically accepting the Nazis' cynical self-definition would be quite as eager to believe that the German Democratic Republic was democratic.

It's not personal. It's just war.

How come you can't do it HERE?

Ok. You mean I'm allowed to rewrite the script for the liberal woman? You'll have to rewrite the script of the conservative guy accordingly... Expect that the conversation might go a bit differently. What topic shall we write about?

Maybe we'll be able to upload our own video...

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

HARDWARE; I used to think you were a nuts-and-bolts kind of person who just really wanted to know what was going on. I began to get the idea that your view of the world was skewed in the Fukushima discussions, when you happily drank the TEPCO/ IAEA happy-talk Kool-Aid. Lately, you seem to have gone off the rails of reality and into the wilderness of irrelevant partisanship.

KPO,
What you point out is exactly like the democrats apparently standing for democracy, and promoting socialism. 70 members of congress were exposed as members of the Socialist Party of America in October 2009.

Nancy Pelosi was also a member, until resigning her membership after it was exposed in December '08.

I cannot abide socialists or communists. I think learning about how the Nazis treated my godparents, and then how they were treated by the communists in Poland shows that there was little difference to the common man. Both are equally reprehensible.

I see now that the leftists on this board have to shout down any disagreement with their party line. Just as leftists do everywhere.

Keep on shouting. It is entertaining.

Kwicko,
Read history. Try to understand it in the historical context, not just what you can understand viewing it in the aftermath. Germany was undergoing devastating, unprecedented levels of unemployment. Without even taking into account underemployment, their unemployment rate was over 30%.

Hitler and the Nazis took control of the labor unions and put people back to work. To the average man on the street he was like a godsend. The wages were low, but money was coming in.

What the Nazis became was something different and seeds of their eventual downfall were planted in Hitler's rise to power. But that all came later.

Oh, and if any of this sounds familiar to you, it should. We've forgotten the lessons of history.

The more I get to know people the more I like my dogs.

Socialists, Communists, and Fascists all have various strong differences, but they tend to succumb to authoritarianism and corruption.

Authoritarianism is usually either pretty bad or it blows up and becomes really bad. History seems to be one long struggle between the people in power (amongst themselves even), the people who envy that power, and the people who just want to live in peace.

I'm with you, I despise marxism - and all the 'isms' it's spawned (I'm anti-ideological, across the whole spectrum). But blurring together communists and socialists, and social democrats (what the Socialist party of America is?), and then Democrats, is silly. I've heard conservatives don't like nuance, but that's ridiculous.

I think the difference between me and you (besides appreciation for nuance) is that I don't see marxists as something to worry about, or even as something relevant any more (except to people living in Cuba or Venezuela). The cold war has ended. In Europe we now talk about 'post-ideological politics'. In America you're still afraid of communists behind every bush. One of the things that never fails to amaze me about US politics...

It's not personal. It's just war.

HW, for all your "despising" of socialism, you are in fact a socialist. You won't like admitting it, but that's what you are.
