Seriously, folks, the tea-baggers are TRYING to torpedo the economy.

And they're doing an admirable job of it. They have been for several months now, if not longer.

I still like my perishable currency idea - cause it prevents the concentration of wealth over a period of time which upsets the balance of power.

As for multiple independent currencies, having recently watched some of an Anime based around economics in such a system(1), I'd have to say the potential for serious fuckery is still there, if not potentially worse.

And instead of an arbitrary date on paper or some other semi-useless crap, I'd say make the currency something edible - hell, whiskey filled that role at one time, but that tends to increase in value if one hangs onto it long enough.

Hmm, maybe some form of candy, heh...

(1) Spice and Wolf, and Holo is far more crook than merchant, but what does one expect of a trickster-kami.. at one point they do some serious short-selling, and it rooked me a bit that the horrible consequences of this upon the town they did it to were glossed over.
