If I remember my high school Shakespeare correctly, the Roman mob offered Julius Caesar the crown of dictator several times, and he refused it each time. That's what the Chris Christie spectacle seems like. Can his little ballerina act of tiptoeing 'round the election mulberry bush be any more ridiculous? Yes, he's missing the pink tutu. There ya go:

America loves a winner!

Dude needs to follow Mike Huckabee, and lose some weight first. My guess is that he's not running, and it may have something to do w/ his excessive tonnage he's carrying around.

I'd like to see him lose 100 lbs, or more, before thinking about a run for the White House.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Like Rappy says, he's not running because he physically is unable to run.

And nobody wants to listen to a 300+ pound man tell the rest of us we need to "tighten our belt". It's a laughable visual.

Besides, there's so much video footage of him claiming he doesn't have the passion and isn't ready, that stuff is the most effective campaign commercial against him.

I never have seen so much hype around someone that has said over and over that he's not running. I guess no means maybe to pundits now because it's assumed all politicians are liars. Jon Stewart seems to be a confused as I am. http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-september-28-2011/indecision-201

The GOP should just admit that Ron Paul is their candidate and get behind them. He's the only one who actually stands for their message anyway, and he does it better than they do.

It's that or Romney, who, IMHO, is hard to tell apart from Obama, policywise.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Has nobody put it together that he's most likely getting as much attention as possible for a run in 2016? That's one of the ways it's done, isn't it? Get a lot of attention, watch the other guy fail miserably (or end of Obama's term, 'cuz NOBODY's gonna fix this mess in four more years), then pop back out of the woodwork and run as the "savior" he "should have been" this time? Anyone who wants to be Prez right now has his/her head on backwards, and given all of them have clearly shown they DO (have their heads on backwards that is), it seems obvious to me.

Sounds like he's been all over everything, glad I missed it. Had jury summons, looks strongly like I've landed a NINE MONTH murder trial! Won't know until the end of the month, but there were only seven of us willing to admit we could do that long, so I won't be around much if I do (go ahead, cheer, I know who you are). All the way through my favorite season, and it RAINED for the first time yesterday! Bah. On the other hand, should be interesting, if nothing else. At least I'll miss all the political bullshit, I'll be too busy in what free time is left to bother.

I'm just looking forward to the date they can get in passing, so we hear less of Palin (she'll never actually shut UP!) and none of Christie. Then they're stuck with their list of crazies, and the fun begins!

Urgh, and I got one too, only this one's unavoidable since it's just over the limit, as opposed to the plethora of other ones I get cause their supposedly-random selection software seems to think (on paper) that I'd be guaranteed hostile to a poor and black defendant... grrr.

It's worse in Romulus, where there's a lawsuit in progress by the very few white folk living there given that they recieve a summons about once a month, gee, not like the "random" program pre-stacks juries or nothing, nooo...
That's okay though, their PD is up to it's ass right now, not for spending dept funds on prostitutes and the like, although that's what they'll fall for - but for not cutting crimelord (aka Wayne County Prosecutor) Kym Worthy in on the largess from their forfeitures, skimming off the top, you know.

I'm pissed about it cause the first one, they called me en-route and told me to piss off (prolly cause they didn't want my presence or my mouth poisoning the jury pool on a high profile case) and then sent a new one the next day, argh.

THIS is, for a FACT, *the* most accurate representation of how our so-called "justice" system works I've ever seen.

I defy one to find fault with this representation of the reality of it.

<---very pissed off.

Meanwhile, as Paul remains completely unelectable, Cain pulls into a dead heat for 2nd place, behind Romney.

Poll: Romney Takes First, Perry and Cain Tie for Second

By Danny Yadron

Mitt Romney has the lead, at least for now.

After weeks of uneven debate performances and criticism over his stance on illegal immigrants and vaccinations, former GOP presidential front-runner Rick Perry tied for second place with Herman Cain in a Washington Post/ABC News poll out Tuesday. Both took 16%, trailing former Mr. Romney who continues to have the backing of a quarter of GOP primary voters. The same survey last month showed Texas Gov. Perry leading former Massachusetts Gov. Romney 29% to 25%, in a field that did not include former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin or New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

It’s the second national poll in a week showing Mr. Romney moving back into first as Mr. Perry’s new-candidate shine has begun to wear off. (The earlier poll by Fox News is here.) Meantime, a slew of polls in early voting states has shown the former governor leading the primary fray while also performing best against President Barack Obama in a hypothetical contest.

It’s notable that Mr. Perry’s support has fallen more than Mr. Romney’s has risen, reflecting continued ambivalence by some conservatives toward the former governor. Since officially joining the 2012 race, Mr. Romney has hit or passed 30% in three national polls recorded by Real Clear Politics. Mr. Perry has already reached that threshold six times since joining the race, topping out at 38% in a late August Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.

The margin of error in the full Washington Post sample is four percentage points.
