Herman Cain, a must see.

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.

Oh, gawd, I've seen the first few seconds of that a number of times. I tune to another station instantly, before the bile rises too high in me.

For some reason, that isn't funny.

Why?

If Saturday Night Live or Second City did exactly the same thing, you'd probably laugh.

It was pretty funny. Shows the boss does not take himself too seriously. It also shows commitment. Man was in the pizza business and he is the kind of guy that when he's in, he's all in.

Well, maybe you hadn't noticed, but they cast comedians on those shows, not just anyone.

So, at best, Id say this was a funny concept - but the performer did not have the comedic skills to pull it off.

Nor are the people on SNL running for President, just to remind. Dunno when he did that clip, but to me it just says more of what I already believe; he's not serious, nor a serious candidate.

So your bile also rises when Pres. Obama makes jokes on Leno or Letterman?

Since he left Godfather's in 1996, it's been a while. Looks like it's at a franchise owner's convention, where you wouldn't expect "serious" all the time.

If you have a problem with the man's politics, by all means complain about his politics. Having a viceral reaction to an innocent skit from 15 years ago seems sort'a fanatical to me.

Niki says it's not that funny...

Geezer sees a "Viceral reaction" and then calls her a fanatic for the said (non existant, entirely imagined by ol man Geez) reaction.

Geezer, either you're trying really hard (and transparently) to make this into something it's not - or you have Aspergers. Or, hey, maybe look up the term "hyperbole".

Hello,

Every bit of nothing seems to be made into something by the force of politics.

Story,

Read Niki's post. The viceral reaction was not imaginary. It seemed unfair to me as well, as if she were reacting to the idea that the pizza man is a republican, but I refrained from commenting.

Niki, if you hate republicans, you're not the 99%, you're cutting yourself down to the 50%.

ETA: actually, given that I still work for your own damn party and was actually at occupy wall street, you've cut yourself down to the 0.5%, since only about 1% of the people occupied anything so far. At least Siggie is aware that as a diehard socialist she's the 0.5% ;)

Overall, I thought it was cute. This is the Omaha press club, c. 1991. It shows the man has a sense of humor. I'm not afraid of what would happen if we lost to him, but I don't imagine we will. Also, I'm unafraid of having Herman Cain around in politics in the future, which is what is more likely to happen here.

Meanwhile, I'm a big fan of Godfathers, for chain pizza you can pick up at a convenience store it's pretty damn good. Give Pizza a chance ;)
