Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Well said! A simplified argument which pretty much "says it all". Wonder what it would look like if we just took military spending out, as a start? I know the right will scream "entitlements!", but for all their grousing about people keeping what they earn, they can't seem to grasp that people PAID for SSI, Medicare, etc., in a contract with the government. Why is that? The military, on the other hand, grows exponentially on its own--how much has been added to it sincer 9/11?

Too bad EVERYONE can't see those figures so easily displayed; maybe we could cut all the ridiculous, unnecessary things that truly DESERVE to be cut in our government. I guess we could start with Congress, eh?

$142k is more like a mortgage.
That would be $32/month budget cut. That's a decent one, they got rid of cable or something ;)

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.
