It's pretty clearly been dyed by somebody. Unless it found some purple kool-aid sitting out somewhere and totally submerged itself in it. I've heard kool-aid can act as a dye.


What reason had proved best ceased to look absurd to the eye, which shows how idle it is to think anything ridiculous except what is wrong.

Poor little fellah...bet they offed him after the photo...dunno how he'd fare in the wild if they let him go, either, dunno what the abilities of squirrels is to see color, so could he ever attract a mate, unless his coat grows out normal again? And he'd be easier prey for predators, seems to me, if they see that color.

The porta-potty suggestion sounds likely to me...if he plopped in, he'd be totally imersed initially. If someone dyed him, may they rot in hell.

The dye in question is a spray-on, nontoxic, non-allergenic kinda thing, and it doesn't last very long - ergo one can hope said squig is doin okay...

Reason I know that is that one of the local pets stores used to dye bunnies for the easter holiday, leading to this adorable picture.
