I do like the way the linked Reuters article repeatedly calls the editing an "error".

"Oops. We didn't realize that leaving out the 911 operator's question about race would give the impression Zimmerman brought it up first. Sorry."

Error my ass, their bias is showing and they can't find a way to blame FOX News or Sarah Palin. They want this story to go away yesterday! Have you noticed few are making a big deal out of this, if it was FOX they wouldn't stop making it a big deal until Rodger Ailes tared and feathered and run out of town on a rail!

Hello,

Much as it pains me to say this, Whozit, I believe you are quite correct in this observation.

Hello,

I don't mind being quoted, if it pleases you. For all time you can hold up the monument of when AnthonyT said,

If this was FOX News the righties here would insist that there was no editing of what actually happened.

How many times has FOX News been caught making up the news? I know NBC and CNN has been nailed a number of times, remember Richard Jewel and GMC? And don't forget CNN's Viet Nam poison gas story. I'm no fan of Zimmerman he may be a murderer, but NBC shouldn't be making up the news...that's Keith Olberman's job....and he's stupid....and unemployed....and stupid.

(ETA: Oh, this is FUNNY! While I was grazing around looking for what I've posted below, whatzit posted the above! Enjoy!)Let's see. For whatever reason, someone misquoted some facts in the story. NBC clarified it, apologized for it, and has said they are taking steps to see it doesn't happen again.
Quote:

NBC told the Washington Post's Erik Wemple Saturday that it would investigate an incident in which the "Today" show used an abridged recording of George Zimmerman's 911 call before he killed Trayvon Martin.
Sheet, it was on the Today Show? Who pays attention to THAT?! They are launching an investigation, as is appropriate. You can find the apology, etc., all OVER the first page if you googled it.

What, exactly, is the issue here, aside from your fervent belief that they did it deliberately because of their bias? That's your opinion, nothing more.

I could go on to cite all the times FauxNews has "reported" something untrue and how they've said it was an error by someone, and no, as far as I can tell, NBC didn't call for photos and heads. You're pathetic.

Fox appears to have had quite a few "mistakes" for which it has "apologized".
Quote:

Fox Sports issued an on-air apology Sunday for using fabricated newspaper headlines critical of quarterback Jay Cutler on its season-opening Chicago Bears broadcast.

As a Tribune report detailed last Sunday, the Fox telecast flashed three ficticious headlines across the screen -- "Cutler Leaves With Injury," "Cutler Lacks Courage" and "Cutler's No Leader" -- that Fox color analyst Daryl Johnston described as "actual headlines from the local papers in Chicago." A Tribune search yielded no such headlines in any newspaper in the United States. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2011-09-25/sports/chi-fox-apologize
s-onair-for-fake-cutler-headlines-20110925_1_jay-cutler-fox-studio-analyst-pregame-show
, Bill O'Reilly apologizing to Shirley Sherrod. And there was the Ron Paul "mistake":
Quote:

Yesterday, Fox News aired the 2010 footage and incorrectly identifies it as 2011. Bill Hemmer then begins his interview with Paul by asking him about the booing. Once the error was noticed, Paul fans quickly took to the Internet, flooding YouTube with video proof of Fox News’ “deception.” However, Fox News claims it was completely accidental.
Tho' I'm not sure claiming it was an error constitutes an apology.

Then there was the time they used a photo of Tina Fey as an on-screen graphic of Sarah Palin. And
Quote:

On the November 18 edition of Happening Now, guest co-host Gregg Jarrett used old footage -- which he said was "just coming in to us" -- of a McCain-Palin rally from last year to illustrate how Sarah Palin is "continuing to draw huge crowds" during her book tour. The following day, Skinner apologized for "mistakenly" airing the fake crowd video.
Quote:

On the March 16 edition of Live Desk, MacCallum claimed that "after weeks of economic doom and gloom, the Obama administration is now singing a slightly different tune. Take a look at what was said in recent interviews this weekend." Live Desk then aired a video of Vice President Joe Biden stating, "The fundamentals of the economy are strong." However, Biden did not make those remarks during an "interview" that weekend; he made them at a September 2008 campaign event in which he criticized those statements by Sen. John McCain. MacCallum apologized the next day.
Quote:

During the February 10 edition of Happening Now, Scott purported to "take a look back" at how the economic recovery plan "grew, and grew, and grew." In doing so, Scott referenced seven dates, as on-screen graphics cited various news sources from those time periods -- all of which came directly from a Senate Republican Communications Center press release. A Fox News on-screen graphic even reproduced a typo contained in the Republican press release.

The following day, Scott apologized -- for running the typo. Scott's apology was criticized by Washington Post media critic and CNN host Howard Kurtz, who said: "We sometimes jab at the pundits for using talking points, but in the case of Fox News anchor Jon Scott, it was literally true this week. ... You should be apologizing for using partisan propaganda from the GOP without telling your viewers where it came from. Talk about missing the point."

Jeez, I could spend the whole DAY finding FauxNews "mistakes" and "apologies"! Kinda fun, that, in relation to them constantly claiming to be "fair and balanced".
Quote:

In newly uncovered audio, a Fox News executive boasts that he lied repeatedly during the closing days of the 2008 presidential campaign when he speculated on-air "about whether Barack Obama really advocated socialism."

Speaking in 2009 onboard a pricey Mediterranean cruise sponsored by a right-wing college, Fox Washington managing editor Bill Sammon described his attempts the previous year to link Obama to "socialism" as "mischievous speculation." Sammon, who is also a Fox News vice president, acknowledged that "privately" he had believed that the socialism allegation was "rather far-fetched."

Hell, Beck alone has been found to tell many, many "whoppers" ( http://mediamatters.org/research/201012300001)

This is fun:
Quote:

Speaking of The O'Reilly Factor, Fox News' Gretchen Carlson used a recent appearance to claim that 35 percent of people paying the in-state tuition rate at University of California schools were "illegals." That's just making stuff up. The actual figure is 0.34 percent.

Fox News' Dick Morris fabricated conversations he had with Bill Clinton to conjure up a conspiracy theory about Janet Reno threatening Clinton that she would "tell the truth" about Waco. Morris later explained that this was just "conjecture" that needed to be separated from "the facts." http://mediamatters.org/blog/201106290007 News lied about Senate procedures ( http://mediamatters.org/research/201002250015). Fox News lied about Obama giving back a "major strip" of land to Mexico ( http://mediamatters.org/blog/201006160058). Fox News lied about Obama trying to ban sports fishing ( http://mediamatters.org/research/201003100014). Fox News lied about health care reform waivers ( http://mediamatters.org/research/201105180029). If you don't like the above sources, please prove them wrong.

Okay, as much fun as that was, that's all the time I care to devote to it. Appears that for a "fair and balanced" "news" station, FauxNews has a lot to answer for. Interestingly, I can't find any instance of them having made a "mistake" about those they SUPPORT. Huh! I wonder why that is?

It would appear that FauxNews has a lot of trouble keeping their videos (and facts) straight, so maybe accusing NBC for a "mistake" isn't exactly newsworthy. Fox makes quite a few of such "mistakes"

There's a difference between mistakes and making up the news, or are you saying NBC and CNN made "ALOT" of mistakes?

I don't know where you're pulling that out of--thin air, no doubt--but check the links. Not only did FauxNews DEFINITELY make up some of that stuff, they ADMITTED it in several of the instances. You must have missed
Quote:

Fox News executive boasts that he lied repeatedly.
If you think they're lying about making stuff up, that's your problem.

ETA: Are YOU saying, given all the "mistakes" that FauxNews has made (ONLY in regard to those they don't like, by the way), that NBC couldn't possibly have made a mistake? Hoo, boy, are you putting yourself out on a limb if you are!

The case of Trayvon Martin is done.

It is starting to sound more, and more, like a good shoot.

Libs like to cry "WOLF" a lot. Mostly to grab more power, or interest.

But, more and more, people are starting to question their cries.

The "case" has barely begun. That's the problem - nobody at the PD even wanted to do a cursory investigation into the shooting. It got thrown into the court of public opinion because nobody was pushing for it to be in any other court.

I find it more than a little ironic that you claim others are trying to grab power or interest, all on the same day you righteously advocate depopulating black areas with fire, and pushing the people into the sea. In fact, you advocate doing so for entire states. Curiously, those happen to be "liberal" states, but I'm sure that has nothing to do with what you want to do, just as I'm *sure* you aren't trying to grab power for your regressive interests.
