But refuses to endorse Romney. Points for sticking to his guns on that, I suppose.

So, barring any major surprises - Mitt is the GOP's man. Now, all he has to worry about is getting his party to actually like him a little bit, convince the religious right he's not a cultist, and oh, find some way to make himself look even marginally appealing to independents.

The man has a long, expensive, and very likely disappointing year ahead of him.

I'm a bit curious, though - the Pennsylvania primary is scheduled for two weeks from today. Santorum *guaranteed* a win there, and now he quits two weeks out from the primary in his own state.

What does he know that he doesn't want to talk about? Did his campaign have some polling data they don't want to share, showing him losing badly to Romney in his home state? Such a finish would likely end his political career, if not forever, at least in the near term, the next couple election cycles or so.

Maybe Frothy realized that rather than go down in flames in his own state, he'd better quit while he was well behind, and try to slink off with some semblance of "dignity" still intact, in hopes that people would simply forget, and he can try to come back in 2016. And let's face it, the GOP will likely have an easier time of it in '16, since Obama likely won't be running and Biden might be!

As one who appreciates comedy, this rogue's gallery of GOP losers has been a boon for jokesters everywhere. In a way, I'll miss ol' Sanitarium, just like I kinda miss Batshit Bachmann and Herman "Hold the Sausage" Cain.

But they really did make the jokes too easy. We should have to work a little harder for laughs. :)

Meanwhile, has it occurred to anyone that every single candidate who was endorsed by god has now lost to Romney? They all said god told them to run, so they must realize now that god wanted to make them look like assholes, or he's just a merry prankster at heart!
