Hello,

I stumbled across this on CNN today. Apparently, the entire population of India is going to be biometrically identified by the government there and given a unique identifying number based on their biometric profile.

From what I read, they've already done 200 million people.

I wonder if this will become a worldwide trend.

No doubt.

Next thing you know, they'll be requiring photo ID to vote, and cops will walk around demanding to see peoples' papers, please.

In other words, if this were proposed by the GOP here, it would be touted as the only way to stop voter fraud and keep the illegals out, and anyone who spoke up against it would be branded anti-American.

Hee, hee, hee; good one, Mike. Not sure why they're doing this, seems like a lot of trouble for little gain, but what do I know?

DEVERSE

Hey, Ive been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity.

Not to cause panic, but governments in North America have been gathering biometric information on everyone and assigning a specific ID to citizens for quite some time.

Born in North America? Epecially if after the late 1970's, your feet prints may be on file. Got a social security card? A bit more biometric info you gave away and a unique identifier has been assigned to you. Got a driver's license? Now they probably have your picture as well, and a bit more biometric info, and another unique identifier. Got a credit card? Been in the military or a Federal job where you are fingerprinted? Just a bit more biometric info on you. Have a corporate security system where you work that requires a swipe card or a fingerprint? Ever self declare on a job application? Ever fly anywhere - especially out of country - must have a passport right? Been to Disneyland? They collect biometric info (and are supposed to destroy it, but...) on persons entering the grounds.

Look up Operation Endgame (not the movie) and the Secure Communities program. Been using biometric identification techniques to identify illegal aliens, suspected terrorists and criminals since 2003 and 2007 respectively. Between 2008 to 2011, these programs resulted in ~140,000 persons arrested and ~72,000 deported and Secure Communities is expected to be fully implemented throughout the United States with detention centers located in many cities by 2013.

Don't mean to scare anyone, but soft biometric data is collected on everyone in North America constantly and has been for some time. India may be moving into 1984 but we've been living in it for almost our entire lives.

With stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
