Not really news. I've heard him discuss this topic before.

He gets radio carbon dating wrong, of course, when discussing things millions of years old, but it's funny he comments on a female T-Rex named ' Susie '.

Her name is SUE !

She was real, and she was SPECTACULAR !

Does that mean you got to see her, Rap? That would be neat!

Hard to imagine that senile old man being able to conceive of anything logical...listening to him speak is like hearing a decrepit voice from the far-distant past. But I guess it's a good thing, given how big his audience is, maybe some of them actually believed it!

Tit for tat got us where we are today. If we want to be grownups, we need to resist the ugliness. If we each did, this would be a better reflection on Firefly and a more welcome place. I will try.

Not only did I get to SEE 'Sue', in Chicago, but I also got to see her namesake, the lady who discovered the fossil, Sue Hendrickson, at the museum! Both her AND her dog! How freaking shiny was that ? They let her dog roam the gift shop, while Sue was casually picking out items she wanted. ( I'm guessing they comped her a fair bit, so she could get just about anything she wanted )

*ETA - I also got to, some while later, see 'Stan', at the Black Hills Institute, in Hill City, SD. Originally, SUE was meant to reside as the centre piece for the BHI museum, but the Feds got involved, and long story short, basically just stole Sue from Pete Larson.

Stan is a hell of a find in his own right. VERY impressive.

Hey, Old Pat seems to have moved forward in time somewhat, from Genesis all the way to the Age of Reason which was what, maybe 1700?, and as far as Charles Darwin who was Victorian 1850's.

Maybe someday he'll catch up all the way to Modern Times, either the Chaplin version ( 1920's) or the 21st century.

I know this is the question you despise beyond all others: but can you cite that?

Cite what I 'heard', or saw him say, in the past ?

Why do you ask ? Of what significance is it to this topic?

Anyways, here ya go -

" Pat Robertson, well-known founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN-TV) and host of the “700 Club” TV program, recently took a swipe at people who are dogmatic that the Bible teaches Creation in six 24-hour days. During a 17 June broadcast, Robertson said, “I sure wish he’d get off that 6/24 business,” speaking about Michael Farris, founder and president of Patrick Henry College in Virginia (USA), who requires his teachers to believe and teach a six-day Creation."

Thank you for the answer.

I am still amazed (though I shouldn't be), that you would ask why a citation is relevant. Wow.

And I'm amazed that you're amazed , or that you doubted me on such a triviality. This wasnt a off hand claim on tree ring growth in temperate climates ,over the past 1000 years, and how it may relate to co2 levels. I'd heard Pat comment on this matter before, thought it applicable here, and simply said so. I was right, and backed it up. How is this a " cite" issue? Even if I'd been wrong, and he had NOT commented on this, or I'd mixed up his opinion with that of some one else, so what? I " thought " he had said this before. I clearly could have been mistaken, bfd. That I wasn't... is no big deal to me. You, however, seem to have a fanatical drive to disprove me , and what ever I say.

Sorry to disappoint you, yet again.

I expect a citation when ANYONE makes a declarative statement.

I expect it doubly so when the claim is made by someone with no credibility, and a track record for presenting opinion as fact, and a reputation for not citing.

Im funny that way, expecting people to back what they say. Its a trait I find that conservatives dislike across the board.

Right, I asked for a citation, than thanked you for it when I got it.

That's *totally* happening because I disagree with... oh, that's right - I didn't disagree with you. Nothing in this thread contradicts my views - I just asked for a citation. Why does that rankle you so much, to have to back up your claims with evidence? No one else cries about it when they're asked to cite - but you haul yourself up on your sad little cross every damned time.

You fucking twit - try not defaulting to your standard whiney comeback sometime. You might actually get one of those "adult conversations" you keep claiming to want (quick tip: no one actually believes you want that - because you pull this juvenile "poor me" shit every time).
