Meanwhile, back at Fukushima....

The recent M7.3 quake off the coast did something to Unit No 1. Unit No 1 is kept at a negative pressure; after the quake the pressure spiked positive and pumps had to be manually operated to bring the pressure back down. Continuing production of of hydrogen indicates continuing reaction of corium with something.

But not to worry. Although Japanese nuclear officials don't know what's going on, they assure us that everything's OK.

GEEZER at one point thought that the 30% rate of thyroid nodules and cysts in the children around Fukushima might be due to using a more sensitive test, artificially inflating the stats. The same doctor who found the high rate of nodules had previously found a 0.9% incidence of cysts in Nagasaki children. Just to clarify.

Shit. Things slip from the public's attention so quickly, the minute something new happens. Also, we tend to think in terms of what's happening HERE, without realizing that what happens elsewhere may also affect us HERE in time.

Depressing. And of course we'll never hear a word about it from our own MSM, as usual.

Tit for tat got us where we are today. If we want to be grownups, we need to resist the ugliness. If we each did, this would be a better reflection on Firefly and a more welcome place. I will try.

I already knew about this.

I personally make a habit of visiting ENENEWS http://enenews.com/ every day I'm near a computer. They are actively tracking Fukushima. Yes, you have to deal with the endless doom and gloom on the website, but if I didn't go there I'd never have known about this when it happened.

Hmmm, I've bookmarked that site. It deals with more stuff than just Fukishima...worth checking out periodically. Thanx.

And of course there are many more articles there about Fukishima. I'm afraid I'm too chicken to spend much time actually reading them.

I also noted that thyroid cysts due to radiation exposure don't present for several years after exposure. if you find the thread you're citing you'll find the cites.
