That's the beauty of early coloured film, makes it seem more real, closer to the way we are now.

I also saw a documentary which used coloured film from WW2, quite a different experience...much more powerful.

Which is why I like calling it a kind of time travel.

I do have a book, "The London Perambulator", that my dad brought home from WWII, that is pretty contemporaneous with that film. It describes how the city developed, and lists walks to see the sights. Unfortunately, I forgot to take it with us when we went to London a couple of years ago. Would have been interesting to see how much was left after the war and redevelopment.

It was fun to watch the scenes in that film and realize, "Why, I've been there."

Wow, what amazing footage! "Earth that Was", for real. I was fascinated by the CLOTHES, too!

When my mom was a working woman in San Francisco, they still wore hats and gloves...how the world has changed...
