Why is the RW so full of crazies?

It's because the RW espouses things you would have to be crazy to believe in.

There is a book, When Society Becomes an Addict, which offered the idea that people can become as addicted to ideas as they can to drugs. It can be religion, it can be trickle-dwon economics, it can be American exceptionalism, or fear of the different (gay/ women/ Muslims/ Jews)... those ideas are wonderfully comforting and powerfully addicting. After all, who the hell wants to feel afraid or uncertian?

Once people are addicted, you will see all the usual addictive behaviors if those ideas are challenged: disordered thinking, blame-laying, and (most especially) denial. The closer the addict comes to confronting those ideas, the more likely it is they will double down on the same idea (which produces the same dopamine reward as any substance). I think that's what you're seeing here: doubling down. Just look at this board: The more reichwing ideas are challenged in the real world, the more the reichwing spams the board.

There are a lot of American memes that are very close to being seen as "not working", so a lot of people are very uncomfortable.

Not to say that this can't also be a leftwing issue, but for the moment liberals and the left tend to believe in ideas that are closer to reality, and also tend to value facts, logic, and discussion more.

It's worth noting that those are mostly centrist positions (the democratic process? Come on.), and entirely consistent with somebody on the centre-right, where most of us have pegged you.
