After how these douchebags have mistreated childeren and little old ladys, here are shooting victims you CAN'T feel sorry for. I may host a fund rasier to raise bail for the shooter. Anyone who has been harrassed by any these dopes may mention the shooting next time they go thru their next TSA pat down.

They can't even claim ignorance, cause "just following orders" is NEVER an excuse.

You can, and fucking should feel sorry. While the security is overblown they are just doing their jobs. They are not killing anyone.

I do not fear God, I fear the ignorance of man.

Yeah, Nick, I bypassed this one because to me it's just disgusting. Human beings trying to survive like the rest of us. I'm sure there are bad ones, but most of them are just earning a living and harming nobody. I think about the nice TSA folk I ran across on my trip to and from New Orleans, people with families and loved ones, and zit's remarks just make me sick to my stomach.

But then, it's easy for some people to hate anyone.

In before someone makes a Nazi comparison... oops. Not every Nazi was killing people either though.

I've met a former Nazi who was on a submarine crew. Showed genuine regret for everything that happened in those years.

But at the time... It's really hard to not want to pull the trigger on people who enable this kinda stuff. The only reason not to is because even fascists and Nazis and authoritarians might eventually grow as humans. The question is how much are you willing to risk before they wise up?

Wow, mentioning TSA in the same short paragraph as Nazis. That's pretty fucked up.

Methinks Whozit is not being serious here. Surely he recognizes who the good guys are. I've had to fly a lot the last few years for my job, and I only have positive things to say about those men and women. I have never once been hassled in any way. Without these people there would be no air travel.

Anarchists will have trouble sympathizing with the victims because of the moral ambiguity between senseless gun violence from the mentally disturbed versus servants of police state nonsense and racial profiling xenophobia disguised as draconian "safety" measures.

Funny how everyone hates the Patriot Act but the poor TSA agents and the DHS people are just doing their jobs by enforcing it. They're just trying to make a living and survive! So they unfairly target brown skinned people and bunches of them end up in Gauntanamo Dachau, that's just their JOB! Well, to continue my analogy, guess what happened to disserters or political dissenters in the other example. Yet I'm supposed to feel sorry for people who have basically been employed to stomp all over the fourth amendment protections against unwarranted search and seizure?

What other rights should we allow people to take away and then support the people in the PROCESS of doing so when they have a tragedy? If that guy who pepper sprayed all the Occupy Wall Street kids ever gets shot, I'll be sure to send him FLOWERS.

If this guy had run into RNC headquarters and killed a dozen Republicans you libs would high five each other. You wouldn't admit it but you dimwits would walk around with a big grins for days. I'm sure everyone who's been mistreated by TSA agents said to themselves after the shooting, "I'm surprised it hasn't happen sooner, and will it happen again?" Am I glad these people are dead, of course not. But you people know dam well that TSA agents are less popular then IRS agents. People who have been groped or have watched their spouse or child groped by these guys and gals I'm sure arn't throwing partys, but I'll guess they'll have little pitty.

No, they would be very well-hidden smirks as we appreciate the irony of a pro-gun gang getting hoist on its own petard. Really, zit, you should know better! (Oh wait! Who am I talking to? The zit knows nothing!)

Since when is "the GOP" restricted to "elected officials"? Hell, I thought as far as you were concerned, elected GOP officials were a bunch of historically decrepit old farts and the "real" GOP rested with your fellow-traveler T-partiers and gun-nuts... yanno like Laughner and your own personal anti-gubmint hero, Timmy McVeigh. Anyway, next time you excoriate the GOP leadership, I'll remind you that (according to you) they are the GOP, and that you T-partiers are nothing.

And there lies the difference in mentality, in a nutshell. I'm guessing the zit actually believes what he wrote, and probably can't conceive of just how off the mark it is. I wouldn't feel the slightest bit of satisfaction, enjoyment or anything else positive from the scenario he paints, but he WOULD if the situation were reversed. That's where mindless hate gets you; you "opponents", or anyone you disagree with, aren't human beings to you, just pawns in a game, and deaths are only points on a score card.

Personally, I wouldn't even have the smirk Sig speaks of...the irony wouldn't be lost on me, but for some of us there's a gigantic difference between political defeat and DEATH of anyone. For others of us, humanity got left behind long, long ago, obviously.

I believe ElvisC was being sarcastic--just guessing--but I KNOW that little zit was dead serious.

So who wants to get on the airline that has no passenger or luggage security checks at all?

And my question goes unanswered.

Tim McVeigh never was anything remotely close to being a " hero " of mine, nor was Laughner, whose motives were that he was bat guano crazy. Odd that you felt compelled to interject pure fiction into your reply instead of simply answering the question.

btw , I'm NOT a registered Republican.

How do they prove your point ? Seems to me the only one praising anyone is Whozit. I certainly don't agree w/ the OP. I think it's safe to say that Whozie's view is an extreme outlier on the matter.

And I'm told, every time I post something about Leftists saying / doing the most deranged things, I'm quickly reminded that those views aren't held by ALL Leftists or Dims. But you're free to apply that sort of blanket coverage on All GOP, from 1 post ?

Really ?

If people fly my airline, it's my responsibility to make sure they're safe. Libertarian Airlines would have baggage checks and security screening done by L.A. employees. If you don't want screening, fly somewhere else.

And I notice you didn't answer the question.

I didn't answer the question because it has nothing to do with me or my position.

Unless you can show me where I came out against having luggage checks or security screenings, of course.

It sounds to me like you're not against people going through your belongings, just as long as they're working for corporations while they do it.

I'm against both on principle really, though I recognize practically that air travel companies are businesses with liability and that airports are private property owned in share by those various businesses. Doesn't mean I like it though.

I mostly object to what I perceive as security theater, with body scanners and pat downs, when the body scanners work in much the same way as metal detectors and so aren't really much better at detecting plastics, and the pat downs so far have only been useful for finding catheters or other medical tubes or wires.

The fact that it is government agents doing this instead of corporate agents offends me in that their presence is directly related to various other overarching invasions of privacy and violations of previously established rights (Patriot Act again).

Admittedly, I have been in somewhat of a trolling mood since Halloween, and so my attitudes have been exaggerated to shock and annoy. But my mixed feelings about this situation remains.

*raises hand*

Tis a risk I am willing to assume in exchange for not being felt up or shaken down - however, it isn't one I would FORCE upon other people against their will.

The passing few times I've flown at all in recent years have all been private arrangements with small aircraft pilots, can get some good deals that way if you know the right people - bit light on the creature comforts though, bring your own cookies.
