This posting is not about Wendy Davis. It is not about her views. This is about a man who has pattern of being disrespectful to women:

We are a big nation with different viewpoints. We won’t always agree…but a strong debate is helpful when we disagree. Sometimes if you are smart in your debate, you persuade someone who otherwise had disagreed with you.

And then there are the creeps who take cheap shots because they are too ignorant and small to engage in an important discussion. The best they can do is make themselves look really bad. No one should pay any attention to them – they are not persuasive, they are noise, and in some instances boorish and obnoxious. I suspect this guy feels that he makes himself relevant or even important if he says or tweets like this. I just roll my eyes and wonder what is going on in his head!

I don’t care how much you disagree or agree with Texas’ Wendy Davis, you have to agree that this guy, Erick Erickson, is a real jerk and is really lousy at being a spokesperson for his views:

Calling her an “Abortion Barbie?”

Really? Does he think that makes him look smarter? It makes me think he is a jerk. Here are some more of his tweets:

I see he tweets about his daughter. When I read the above tweet I thought, I wonder how proud his daughter would be of him if she knew that he tweeted insults about women. It is one thing to disagree ..but he tweets insults. And here are more of his tweets about a woman, Wendy Davis:

From "Gretawire", FauxNews...and oh, boy, did SHE get reamed in the comments section! Those FauxNews junkies, they sure know how to turn on someone:
Quote:

--Greta....you still suck as bad as always! I don't remember you getting all hissy when Obama was constantly attacking people by calling them "Tea Baggers" ! Obama is truly that same creep you reference as " creeps who take cheap shots because they are too ignorant and small to engage in an important discussion. The best they can do is make themselves look really bad. No one should pay any attention to them – they are not persuasive, they are noise, and in some instances boorish and obnoxious." Go back to MSNBC or CNN where your liberal no nothingness will fit right in!

--Here's a funny one for you Greta:
"I guess you wont be appearing on TV Anchor Barbie's show anytime soon.

--Don't start cherry picking your way through issues, become acquainted with the facts. If you are trying to start something, you have, and it's not to make you look intelligent either, just touched. I fear you have become a Globalist like Gore is. You post about the Evil man in Africa as often as you can but I'm beginning to think it's a smoke screen...

--Where is the cheap shot? Eric Erickson described the vile Wendy Davis as she should be described. She is a liar and a murderer. It has nothing to do with men or Texas.

...and a nice long, incoherent, badly-spelled anti-abortion rant:
Quote:

Greta, I do t know You hqve an opnion, so does every one else. If she is pegged with a inch name , in my opnion it is well deserved. I think one problem is reguard less of if you are pro life or not that's your business. But I feel I do need to say this. I personally could never have an abortation. If I did , I would have a brake down, I could not live with it.

Pretty clever, actually. I don't see what all the fuss is about. I thought I'd heard that term used back when she was filibustering, so I am at a real loss as to why all the ruckus over this now.

In no way, what so ever is he " insulting women ". He's taking a clever political jab at Wendy Davis. The only thing I can think of as to why the harsh reaction ? He's right.

Misogyny on the internet? Say it ain't so!

Seriously though, this was actually relatively tame. The last quoted comment was the politest incoherent anti-abortion rant I've ever seen.

Plus, I mean, all politicians are murderers and liars. And "Abortion Barbie" as an insult doesn't even make sense, so I'm not sure how anyone can be offended by it.

The most interesting part about this might be how quickly Fox News fans on the internet are willing to turn on a Fox News correspondent if they think she might be a feminist. But again, this is the internet, if you're not getting death threats just for being female and posting pictures of yourself, you're doing something wrong.

I think it paints a perfect picture. Ms Davis, blonde, cute and in her pink tennis shoes, is the adorable icon of the pro-abortion crowd.

I think there's such a strong reaction to this because it's effective, simple, and it really sums up the shallowness that is Wendy Davis.

What I find interesting about this post is after reading the title and who posted it, I automatically assumed it was about me.

After reading the quoted reactions by the person who wrote this piece, I'm still pretty convinced that this post was about me. :)

If all you look at is appearance then anyone could be shallow, sure.

It doesn't actually make the insult make sense or make it descriptive in any way, shape, or form.

Abortion DITZ is an insult, Abortion Barbie is not really an insult, and maybe implies a little bit of TMI in that I really don't want to know what any of these people consider "hawt."

Well, the right thought it was the most terriblest insult ever when Palin was called "Caribou Barbie." and are employing the same (or arguably greater) vitriol they saw in the term by using it themselves. And I agree that it is a misogynistic label - though I think the outrage over it is a bit overblown.

Now, the comments directed at Van Sustern.... yeah, like a pack of wolves, they'll tear apart any that don't stick to the rules of the pack.

Remember how insulted the righties were when Palin got called a cunt?

It's not misogynistic, according to AuRaptor, because it's just a jab at *HER*, not at women in general. And she really is a cunt.

See, these are things that I probably don't need to know. It really suggests some sort of bizarre "Stupid sexy -name here-" political hate-lust. Which, as an attempted insult, makes it just CONFUSING.

And the mental image I get from the implications can be described by the terms "traumatic" and "scarring" and if you need me to prove this, I am fully prepared to bring them out to illustrate the HORRIFIC point.

That's still got some of the same problems in that it suggests an unhealthy fixation on what parts are under the hood, but in fairness at least that one is arguably offensive.

It trivializes here into an icon, small, plastic figurine, which is pretty much what the Left has trotter her out as being, whether they acknowledge it or not. "Barbie " is seen by the Feminists as an assault on the image of women, and unattainable model for which little girls are force fed through mass media manipulation, from the capitalistic male run establishment, or some such nonsense.

That's why I find the term so clever.

Just as with Caribou Barbie. That too is rather clever. I like it.

...Hokay, the thread is not getting less psychologically damaging over time.

And if this keeps up, I'm going to start posting pictures of blow-up dolls and body pillows because at some point the trauma will spill over and I will have to share it.

strike a bit too close to a nerve, did I ?

I'm sure you'll be able to explain to us all why Caribou Barbie *snort, chortle* is all that wildly different than Abortion Barbie.

It's funny and cute when it comes from the Left, but flip the coin, and it's WAR ON WOMEN time!! Misogynistic JERK! How dare he!

I'll hang up and listen.

So my question is, what would be more insulting?

Just calling her Barbie, or calling her Abortion Barbie.

Is that a positive negating a negative?

is that a double-negative?

Is the whole thing nothing more noticeable than a fart in the woods if nobody was there to hear it?

I'm just asking because I had two brothers and no sisters and never played with Barbies.

Any of the girls I got with had the GI Joe kung-fu grip.....

Seriously the fact that you can't all see the perverse fetishization of the political opposition here is weirding me out.

The Caribou Barbie guys are basically fantasizing about Sarah Palin in a bikini swimsuit with a pump-action shotgun, shell casings falling around her in slow motion, and on the other side we have Abortion Barbie one-handed typing out twitter posts and breathless mutterings along the lines of "oh you dirty liberal whore, tell me more about abortion."

Nothing can ever make this right, and so it is time to burn the earth. I shall purge this with fire. Be cleansed.

Well said, Byte, on virtually every point. "The most interesting part about this might be how quickly Fox News fans on the internet are willing to turn on a Fox News correspondent"--that's what struck me most about it, and why I put it up. You are either 100% with us, or you are the enemy, in which case: DEATH!

Caribou Barbie was bad, too; it's wrong when anyone does it. But for me, "Abortion Barbie" is worse because it tries to tie her to abortion. "Cunt" is inexcusable. I wish there were a term as viscerally derogative about males as "cunt" is about females. "Motherfucker" comes close, but it's been so over-used it's lost its shock value.

Mostly, tho', the image you painted of the guys who called Palin "Caribou Barbie" had me giggling...although I have a strong suspicion it was her SUPPORTERS who were having the vision. As I recall, many of them said they thought she was damned hot.
